It was the word abomination that made her flinch, and she quickly turned away, as a refusal of her weakness. The Isles. She repeated, with a quiet and careful voice. But you did not work alone. As far as the memory I was given states, there were many. So many others needed to bring me down. Why would Sammy single you out?

Shun watched Riley carefully. Memory she was given? He had to wonder if someone was able to sort of 'transfuse' a memory into her brain. Interesting. As for the question, he shrugged lightly.
"I was the first to attack. Perhaps it was because others had followed my lead. Perhaps she thinks I have some sort of vendetta against you seeing how she deems me as a traitor, but it was not for any personal reason. At that time, you were a threat not only to myself but to others. There are no known cures for Insanity. Regardless of what Sammy thinks, I acted out of respect, thinking that you would not have wished to remain in such a state."
He looked at her carefully, trying to gauge any reaction she might have to this.
"If you disagree with that, so be it. But that does not change what had happened."

There was a tense pause of silence as Riley considered his explanation, and there was no reaction on her face while she did so. But soon enough, her eyes blinked, and her head tilted to the side in a slight nod.
Perhaps the definition of traitor that we hold differs somewhat from Sammy's. You were correct - to remain in that state would not have been my wish. I would have done the same for you. Her eyes slit ferally for just a moment, and it was obvious that was the truth. I will speak to Sammy at a later date concerning her feelings, but for now, I am satisfied that you are not a threat to me. After all, you promise to only kill me when I am a giant mindless monster. Correct? Her eyes sparked with mirth.

The statement of her doing the same for him did not bother him. Shun did once request to Mitsu if for some reason he was in that state, he would wish to be killed. That was not a state that he would have wanted to remain in for any extended period of time.
"If Sammy changes your mind on the matter, you're free to seek me out," he shrugged.

Oh, really? Riley's voice lowered, and turned sly. And what shall we do, if I seek you out? Do I get to seek my terrible revenge on you? She was teasing, clearly. Will you stand there and let me have at you?

Shun's brow quirked for a moment there.
"You're free to try," he said plainly, "I always fight back."
Unless it was a jacking tickle attack. Then he had trouble fighting back.
...
Thankfully Riley didn't know that little weakness of his any longer. Damn that one day had sucked.

Good. She prodded his clavicle with one pointed claw. I like it better when they fight back.
Her arms folded and her teasing demeanor faded away. You know where to find me, if Mitsu says yes?

"Well then it should be an interesting time should it come down to that," Shun stated while glancing down at the claw poking him in the collar bone.
"I had not been to your room before but I know people who have. It shouldn't be difficult to find it," he replied. That said, he glanced to her wounded knee.
"Since you are offering me assistance... is there any you need now? Or was my previous answer to your question enough?"

Riley checked the strength of her knee, and found it to be acceptable. I think I'll manage. I'll take a raincheck on payback. I'm sure that I'll think of something.. eventually.
Don't shake her hand, Shun. Don't shake her hand.
I should return to have Malodore check on the status of my injury. Though it's probably nothing serious, precaution never hurt anyone. I look forward to hearing from you soon, Shun. There was far too much interest in her voice. It made things really clear as to just how much she looked forward to it.

"Very well," Shun nodded, keeping his hands in his pockets. He was about to go on his way, but paused as he picked up the great interest in Riley's voice. Or had he just imagined that in his wearied state? It was hard to say. He wasn't sure what to make of that. The mindflayer never really took much interest to him in the past. Just an ally and nothing more.
Quietly, he just nodded to her once more as a sort of farewell, then decided to walk back towards the monster dorms. He still had his troubles, but he got a little peace of mind that there may be help soon.
