Daniel made a noise that might have been a snort, rolled his eyes and went to sit down by Madeleine. He was glad that Leo was back, it meant he would no longer have to have to teach the little brats' classes. And Leo was so casual about having been gone more than a month! Really. Why was Alexandrie getting on his case? He did not have a patron tonight, so there would probably be more than a little drinking on his part.
Cécile giggled when Rio sat down next to her. "Its nice to meet you too." She poured a cup of wine for him. "So, you are from Marsilikos...how did you meet Leo then?"
Leo, who had settled himself on Rio's other side and poured himself a cup of wine, nearly choked on a sip when Cécile asked her question. They had not really discussed that. Leave it to Cécile, the ever curious! Hopefully Rio could some up with something vague and convincing?

Think, Rio! Think! And fast! The more time he spent puzzling out an answer, the more obvious it would become that he was lying, and that would definitely not have been a good way to start the night. "Well," he started with a nervous chuckle, stalling for a precious few seconds and hoping that maybe Leo could save him please. "It's actually a little embarrassing..."
Maybe this was something they should have thought to, well...think about beforehand. Oops.

"I met him at the afterparty for a performance I was in a few months ago, at the Mask and Lute." Leo smiled sheepishly. "I actually met him because I spilled my drink on him." Might as well put the embarrassment on himself, besides it was believable- the lion was a bit of a light weight. "It was his last night in the City, I ended up going back to Marsilikos with him afterwards."
Cécile nodded, grinning. "Silly Leo, you should not let so many handsome men buy you drinks."
He flushed a bit, running a hand through his hair. "Well, refusing isn't exactly polite."
"That is true. Now, if only you could build up the alcohol tolerance to keep up." Chantal finally spoke up, laughing.
"Hey. When did this become pick on Leo evening?"
"When you disappeared for month or more without a word." Sweet Madeleine, whose voice was the the most beautiful Leo had ever heard until he met Echo.
"Touché." Well, it seemed there was little he could do about the sisterly teasing he was receiving from the girls. At least it had distracted them from further awkward questions?

"I may have put my foot out just a little," Rio 'admitted,' and covered his grin with his hand for a moment. It would allow him to take a bit of the blame, and adding a touch of detail to the story would help it a little in the believability department.
This more friendly teasing reminded him quite a bit of the envinronment at home, and he liked it. Crisis averted, he finally picked up his wine and took a sip, then glanced over when Madeleine spoke. She did have a lovely voice. And Chantal had a lovely laugh.

Leo chuckled, shifting the way he sat and 'accidentally' brushed a hand against Rio's leg. Thank you. He relaxed some now that he was sure the crisis had passed. Despite Cécile's curiosity she knew there was some things you should just not ask, at least not in front of the patron you were asking about.
The door to the room opened again and Alain stood in the doorway. "Well, well. Hello Leo." He grinned impishly, closing the door behind him and headed around to his spot between Alexandrie and Madeleine.
"Is Luc still not feeling well?" The Dowayne picked up a piece of celery and nibbled on it.
"A bit, I think, but he did not feel up to joining us."
The lion quirked an eyebrow, this was obviously something that had happened while he was away. "What happened?"
"Went to a dinner party with a patron and found out the hard way that seafood does not agree with him." Chantal answered, frowning a bit. She felt bad for Luc but at least he was finally starting to feel better. Hopefully he would be up and about soon.
Leo made a face. That could not have been fun at all. He gave Rio a little subtle nudge to say. 'Go ahead and eat something.'

The god gave a small smile to acknowledge Leo's gesture, and looked up when someone else entered - Alain, presumably?
Rio made a bit of a face as well. Being sick in any way was always unpleasant, and he had some memories of having had food poisoning once...quite awhile ago, granted, given that it was from before Alex had become a vampire. There were some other memories of feeling unwell, thanks to certain inadvisable choices, and then to Adi and Kin, but even that was some time back. "That's unfortunate. Seafood's never agreed with me very well, either."
Which, at this point, was more of a leftover inclination than anything, given that he didn't really even have to eat. He just liked to. And then Leo nudged him to eat something. It was not the best timing ever, given the topic, but he reached for something regardless.

Sure, it may not have been the best timing but if he did not eat something the others might start to worry about him eventually. After Rio reached for something to eat Leo did as well.
"So how long are you planning to stay in the city this time, Rio?" It was Madeleine's sly way of asking 'How long are you staying with us?'

There was less hesitation this time before he answered, only a pause to nibble on the morsel he'd picked up. He really didn't have any schedule in mind for their trip, but to give a vague response would have been odder than he wanted to seem. "I'm in for a month or so, this time."
And something could always 'come up' one way or the other, if they decided to leave earlier or stay longer.

"Well, that is good." Madeleine seemed pleased by the fact that he was staying a while. She smiled before biting into a slice of melon she had picked up.
"It certainly is." Leo smiled. A month? Well, at least that would give them time to explore any sort of place Rio seemed interested in going. If they ended up staying that long, or at least if Rio ended up staying that long. Absently he wondered if Love would take him back to the Pantheon after this or if the god would go back alone? What would be, would be. However, he would be a bit sad if Rio left him behind. For the time being though he had sightseeing trips to plan.

"I'm glad you think so." Rio was truly not in any kind of hurry; he was a god, and far from a busy one. And he was basically surrounded by people who worshipped him, even if they didn't know it. He would be very, very happy to stay - at least until he started missing everyone too much.

The rest of dinner would pass mostly without incident. When it was done, it was left to Cécile and Chantal to help a half-drunk Daniel back to his room. Madeleine, Alexandrie and Alain were headed to bed as well, which left Rio and Leo to their own devices. "Shall we head back to my room then?" Leo stood and offered Rio a hand to help him up.

"That sounds wonderful." Rio took the offered hand and stood. "That was a good save, by the way. None of the things that popped into my head would have sounded half as believable."

"Well it is true, I'm a terrible drunk." He tended to giggle a lot and was full of terrible, terrible jokes. Perhaps Lisana might appreciate it, but he doubted many others would. Leo lead Rio back to his room, pulling Love close and kissing him again once the door was closed and they were truly alone. The curtains were already drawn shut, a few candles lit around the room and a small fire going, with buckets of water in front of it to keep them warm. "Mmm...did you want a bath or anything?"

"That is something I'd like to see," Rio said with a grin. It took him quite a bit to get drunk by this point - some combination of being a god and overall tolerance, probably. Goodness knows Alex had had plenty of that.
He didn't object in the least when Leo pulled him close, reacting with a pleased sound in the back of his throat as he returned the kiss. "I do like baths."
Especially with company, which went without saying.

"Alright. You relax and I'll take care of everything." Leo smiled and let him go, moving to retrieve a couple of buckets from in front of the fire. It would take more than one trip to retrieve them all, but it would give him time to decide what oil to put in the bath. Rose maybe, considering there was no way to get actual rose petals on such short notice.
Once the tub was filled he went to the shelf to find the oil bottle, uncorking and pouring just enough in. Now it would just need to sit for a couple of minutes and it would smell quite nice. He set the oil back in its spot on the shelf and took out a few towels, leaving them on the bench by the way so they would not get soaked before heading back into his room. "By the time we're ready to get in the bath should be just about right."
Sure the bath here was not quite as impressive as Love's in his quarters, but the tub was big enough for two people to be comfortable.
