Kicheko growled playfully as she continued to chew on her mother's tail, batting at the tuft on the end. She could hear her siblings both near and slightly further away, but when she heard her father's voice she stopped assaulting her mother to sit up. She tilted her head a bit before wiggling her bum again and charging towards the other lions surrounding her father.
Taking no regard for the conversation he was already engaged in, she started a chant of 'dad dad dad dad dad dad' with every step she took. As she got closer her voice got louder until she was practically happily yelling the word. Five feet away, she jumped and landed on Xenon's back, laughing and trying to hang on without sinking her claws into him. Of course she slid down to the ground.
"Daaad you should play with me," she said as he moved around to stand directly in front of him, completely ignoring everyone else around. She wanted some entertainment and dad was always good for that.

Furiko could only see the two males who were his companions out of the corner of his eye as he watched the members of the pride. After a moment of Tulio staring at him Furiko sensed him staring and turned his gaze to him. He listens to Tulio's instructions and nods. The news of snatching the cubs was new to him but apparently that had been the plan all along so he knew he just had to go with the plans. He'd heard wierder plans before and still gone through with them out of loyalty for his pride.Maji landed on Nuzhah's stiffened body paws first. Now laying on top of her sister she gnawed on her ear and laughed. She so enjoyed playtime with her siblings. It was the best part of the day and she got to get all her energy out and practice her pouncing techniques. Sadly she still hadn't managed to sneak up on any of her siblings without getting caught. She always managed to step on something or kick a rock or do something that cause noise and gave away her position. Oh she would get one of them someday by suprise.

The two older males weren't exactly making the idea of a mate any more appealing to Kinacha'bahari. If anything, they were putting him off! He would keep that to himself though, as he didn't want to seem rude. When Xenon nudged into his shoulder, he laughed and lifted a paw up to playfully bat him away. "It sounds more like you're in custody rather than a relationship." Young and carefree did sound like the better option, although the carefree part seemed a bit more difficult to achieve in his opinion. At least when he was on duty.
"I have my rank to keep me occupied." He said with a firm nod, before shaking out his bright pink mane. "I plan on being one of the best Nyangumi that the Pride has ever known!" With his above average size and high level of determination, he knew that that was a goal he could reach. Maybe after he had achieved that goal, and made his mother proud, would he consider finding a mate.
At the mention of the Festival of the Sea, Kinacha'bahari's ears perked up. The description of the event sounded familiar, as his mother Neoni'liga had taught him and his siblings many of the Pride's customs and traditions growing up. It certainly helped being raised by a lioness who had been with the Pride since she herself was a cub.
"It sounds like a bigger version of 'Dabiku'Asante', the offering of thanks." He struggled a bit with the prenounciation, but he knew exactly what he was talking about. His mother had done the Dabiku'Asante on more than one occasion that he could remember, such was her respect and gratitude towards the sea. "I think that that would be a great idea 'Kota."
Just then, a grey cub came bounding up and pounced on Xenon. The teal male let out another loud laugh as he waited for Xenon's reaction.

Miguel cringed at the look Tulio gave him, then carefully began shuffling. "We should... Find the dens, yes?" He paused, looking around. It was rather hard to see in the dark... Biting his lower lip, he began edging around where the lions of the pride were gathering. He soon spotted a well worn path and froze, eyes widening. Turning to Tulio, he pointed with a paw, hissing under his breath. "Tulio, a path! We'll be spotted!" If there was one thing Miguel REALLY hated, it was conflict. He did NOT want to be caught by anyone, especially not here! He'd never see his sister again! And she'd just had the most ADORABLE little cubs he'd EVER seen... Except that pink one with the blue hair... She was... Weird. He swore she had a touch of the old insanity, talking about collecting bones... Thinking about her, a shiver ran up his spine.============As she started to settle down around all the cubs that were present, Dimbwi tilted her head, turning and looking to the bushes. For a moment, she swore... But no. She turned her attention back to Kota, trying to decipher what he was saying. She wasn't really one to talk, but she had trouble understanding him. It was a sad truth to her. But then, she had to wonder how many lions had trouble understanding HER accent. She paused her thoughts to smile at her children. She was well aware at least one of her three sons had trouble speaking her native tongue, but she didn't mind. She wasn't disappointed in the least, proud of him for at least trying. Listening to the rest of the discussion, the lioness laughed. "Kinacha, you will understand about mates some day, when you are meeting the right girl!"The young lion stopped, face scrunching up. Talk of GIRLS? And MATES? He stuck his tongue out. "Big lion stuff... So boring and GROSS!" He then looked at his brother, ears perking back up. "Of course, brotha!" Ganesha batted his brother's shoulder. "You're it!" He then tore off across the sand, sending out a call to the other cubs. "Dhiren's it!" He didn't bother to wonder if the others knew it was tag, simply going with the flow of the moment. He was up late, and he was around other cubs up late. He wanted to play, and include ALL of them in it! As he moved, the waves marking his body rippled, delight in his eyes.

Evidently there was still a great deal for Xenon to learn. As many of the traditions had been stifled since the tsunami, he hadn't been subjected to them and nor was he obligated to learn them. While he appreciated that nothing had been shoved down his throat, he was also the sort of individual who did prefer to know these things. Suffice to say that an offering of thanks, as outlined by both Kota and Kinacha, would have been rather appropriate for the pride to have in the given circumstances. Alas, there was just one issue that plagued his mind now that he had taken in to consideration Neith's father...
"I suspect our new leader may require instructions regarding that," he murmured softly and shook his head. Ram had been receptive until now, but how well would a rogue really cope when every tradition was thrust upon him? Only time would tell, but if this was something the pride wanted to do, then he was just going to have to suck it up!
"Goodness knows, he needed help to learn the marriage rites," he mused with a smile. He still recalled that, shaking his head again as he issued a rather deep chuckle. Ram had been unmistakably amused by the fact that Afina had been very, very pregnant during the ceremony despite her previous promises.
Nevertheless, he didn't have much time at all to continue his conversation as a young voice cut through the air. A loud chant of 'dad' disrupting his thoughts before the tiny lump of cub leapt on to his back. Dutiful as always, he rolled on to his back with a feigned yelp of surprise and tossed the cub into the air, catching her in his forepaws lest he suffer the wrath of her mother when she hit the ground.
"Argh, I've been hit!" he wailed and gave a mock flail. "The best hunter in the pride has been overpowered by the younger generation!" he continued and then smirked. "At least for now, you can't hold me down forever," he teased.

Kicheko gave a mixed screech and laugh of delight and surprise as Xenon lifted her off her paws. She soared through the air with all four paws outstretched, imitating an eagle cry as she flew. Of course, it was nowhere near the actual call the birds made. It was more of a squeaky roar, if anything. But she tried! She landed in her father's large paws with an 'oof' and wrapped her much smaller legs around his to hang on. She wasn't afraid she'd be dropped, but now that she had Xenon on his back, she wasn't about to let him up any time soon.
"Got you!" she said with a triumphant grin, pawing at his legs to get out of his paws. She sat down on his chest and dug her paws into his mane, nipping playfully at his toes as she continued to talk. "Sure I can! Mom gets you to do whatever she wants and I'm half her so I can do that and you just said you're the best hunter in the pride and I'm half you so obviously the two combined can stop you!"
She panted after speaking, having said all that in one, long, run-on sentence. She looked very pleased with herself, though, and for the first time looked around at the other lions gathered around with a little smirk on her face. "Right?" she asked them, brown eyes focusing on each face for a few moments, looking for confirmation. She might be tiny, but she was powerful! With sheer willpower alone she could hold her dad down!
Of course, if he actually tried to get up she'd end up back on the ground, but that really wasn't going through her mind at the moment. All she was thinking about was the fact that she had gotten her dad and her mom in the span of just a few minutes! Mighty huntress indeed.

Tulio crept forward and turned his head just to one side as another cub rushed out to join the others. Where there was one, there had to be quite a few. Lionesses typically mothered cubs within the same season so there were enough watchful eyes and welcome bellies to go around. It kept the other lionesses from exhausting themselves if they mothered large litters and it allowed the ladies to take shifts so they could have a break in the storm... so to speak.
Tulio hissed and threw a dark look over to his blonde companion. "Only if you don't shut your trap. We almost have enough to go off of now. Just a little father. If you want to scamper back, feel free. I just need a look."
He looked go the blue male. "Blue mountain- forward. Quietly..."
With that, Tulio prowled forward, hugging the shadows and the edge of the foliage surrounding the path. He needed only to cross it and submerge himself in the flora once more.

There was a daunting task before the three lions. Get across the open path without being seen but Furiko was not one to quit till he knew he was defeated. When Tulio addressed him using his gypsy name it took Furiko a moment to remember he was Blue Mountain. He followed close behind Tulio getting ready to cross the path.
He was nervous to cross but he was willing to risk it to see if he could make it to the other side without being seen. He awaited Tulio to move first and glanced back at Miguel to see if he was intending to follow or go back to the pride.

"Haha ar lad, tis jus' like tha, tha last one, oh, I be thinkin' it was afore these ere cubs gran'dad was born." He chuckled softly "Tis a beautiful cel'bration. I remember me 'n' Khepri tha night, well tha waves they wus beautiful an' tha sun was settin'.." He trails off and coughs a distinctly rosy colour alighting in the one streak of white that ran up the old males nose. "I won' be borin ya wit tha details. Ah'll rightly speak ta Ram though, seems like a good lad, jus needs some 'elp an' this ere pride as been my ome fer longer'n most, I wan'ta see it flourish."
He settles himself on his heels sitting down to watch as the cub came crashing in to her father. He remembered distinctly having cubs that young, he had after all born three litters with Khepri, they were both old now though and watching new cubs be born of their family made him very happy. "Yar our faily is well known fer their prowess, or at least their size lassy, ye'll be able ta pull down a gian' tuna afore ya knows it." He chuckles.
Afina's golden eyes settled on each of her cubs individually and she was about to call Kicheko back to her, the fur ont he back of her neck rising as she ran towards the sea. She loved the sea, she had been raised here but it was not something to go near before your rites. She was very firm on this fact. She had been born and raised here and nothing would see her cubs in the waves before their time, no manner of crying, stomping or pouting.
When the cub tackled her father though she settled herself back down, as long as Xenon was watching her, she was fine, though looking at the sky she gave a shake of her head and cleared her throat. "If there is a story to be had it will have to be a bed time one. Its time for little fishies to go to bed." She raises a brow and patiently waits for her cubs to return to her paws. "Xenon, round up YOUR horde, its time for bed."
Nuzhah growled at her sister as they tossed about in the pale sand, her coat felt tingly with the substance as it clung to her fur only to filter off again. Of course, their happy tousle was rudely interrupted. "Ohhhhh but muuuuummmmm just five more minutes? We didn't hear the story yet." She flumps dejectedly in the sand and looks up at her mother pleadingly. "pleasseee mummy!" She looks at her siblings encouragingly, surely if they all begged they could stay up later.

Maji laughed as she rolled with her sister. She loved rolling in the sand. The odd feeling of it in her fur was what she loved. She laid on her back for a moment after her sister jumped up. She pouted a bit while laying in the sand. She didn't want to go to bed yet either. As her sister pleaded with their mother to let them hear the story she got up and went over to sit next to her sister. She grinned up at her mother and joined in the conversation with her own, "Please Mummy!"

A simple tag hadn't been what he'd expected, and for a moment he just tood there dumbfounded. But then it hit him all at once, all the cubs snickering and running away from him. "Awwww man! Isn't that cheating or something?" He giggled ferociously as he started after one cub, only to fake them out and go for another. His real target however, was his brother. He would surely get him back for tagging him. It was like an unwritten rule - You just don't tag family man. What kind of lion does that? Ganesha, that's who. "Better watch out bro! Imma get ya when you least expect it!"

Miguel cringed. "But Tulio..." He ducked a rock, though he was unsure if Tulio had been the one to throw it. Some monkey chattered in the trees, but didn't seem to be saying anything of warning to the local lions. The blonde lion looked up, wondering for a moment if they were the ones who'd thrown the rock. He rubbed his head, just imagining it connecting.
He ducked back down, starting to creep along. Keeping close to Tulio, he looked for an opportunity... And when he was sure nobody was coming from either direction, he darted across on his belly, slipping under the broad leaves. Nobody'd seen him, right? He peeked back, trying not to breathe too heavily.============Dimbwi cracked up laughing. "You look quite interesting with red touching your nose, Kota!" She then relaxed, an easy smile on her maw. This truly had to be the first time she'd FULLY relaxed in a while. It was wonderful. "I remember when I met Ma'atma... Mmm, I was swimming and collecting drift wood on the beach..." She still enjoyed doing that. She always left the wood piled up on the beach, just waiting for the sea to reclaim it if it desired it. Like her own offering... Clean it up just a little, see if it wanted it back... She'd have to teach her sons and daughter this one day. "I think the sea... She likes this... Like a game..." The sea was like a lioness, in Dimbwi's mind. She gave life, but she could take it in a way the sky couldn't."Of course it's not cheating!" The older brother was already moving, doing his best to avoid getting tagged. He soon crashed into another cub, squealing and laughing and scrambling to get over it - Was this a female cub he'd run into? That didn't matter, it was time for a before-bed game! It may have been late, but he wasn't tired YET! Besides... Surely his parents would be happy to have him burn off his energy now, instead of getting up all hours of the night to ask questions? The next lion he ran into was an adult. A black coat filled his line of vision before he backed up. "Oh! I'm sorry, Monsieur Kota!" And just like that, he was off again, crouching and wiggling and just DARING his brother to come tag him.

No buts. Tulio wouldn't hear it. They had a job to do and if they failed, they would set a pretty terrible record for missions of this sort. They were the first, they were trail-blazers and they could not afford to go down in pride history as having tripped over themselves. He slowed as they approached the path and took a short look about. His companions were there... the others were not. Giving a short nod of his head, Tulio darted forward, breached the cover of the foliage around him for a few short moments of complete exposure.
With careful paws and silent movements, the lion successfully crossed the path without so much as a whisper of movement. He ducked back into the foliage and continued loping forward. The denning sites had to be just ahead...

Furiko was last and he was extremely nervous. He'd sneaked around before to catch prey but he'd never had to go completely undetected around the prey and get back out without them seeing either. After a moment of hesitation Furiko took a deep breath and dashed across the bare path. He knew his blue fur stood out and he just hoped that none of the lions where looking this way or he would certainly be spotted.
He lunged into the bushes and stopped while quietly listening to hear if any of the lions sounded the alarm. If they didn't then he was clear and would be moving on and following after Tulio.

Keeping low, Miguel started creeping through the undergrowth. Green eyes shifted, watching every shadow as if they hid a local lion. What would they do if they found these interlopers? Would they chase them with claws, or simply welcome them? That'd be awkward... Being welcomed into a pride after intruding in such a manner... What would his mother think of him? What would Tulio's mother think? He paused as he placed a paw. She'd box his ears with her claws out, that's what she'd do... He shuddered at the thought... And then felt something actually crawling on his back. The red lion froze, eyes quite wide. "Tulio..." His voice was as quiet as he could get it. "Is there... Is there something on my back...?"
