"You stay here and swim a bit, I'll go buy one!" Roch said, heading for the pool edge and pulling himself up in an easy motion. "I'll be right back," he added, starting away at a jog--only to get whistled at by an irate deathguard.
It was Jack's chance! He slipped free of the scarelings and headed for the pool, standing over the area where the mermaid was swimming. "'Ello, pretty lady," he said. "I couldn't help but notice such a stunning creature," he said, giving her a flirtatious grin. So she'd come with a guy, who cared? The guy was too rough for a beauty like this one! He probably beat her!

Amphi nodded and pulled herself to the edge of the pool. Resting her arms on the concrete ledge. She let her tail float to the top and slapped it gently on the water, silently bobbing her head as she sung a internal song.
She really...really missed her own voice. She missed singing and being able to sing to others.
Her eyes widened though at the sound of a stranger, pushing herself from the edge so she was farther from reach before realizing who it was.
Captain Jack. Oh. OHHHHHHHHHHHHH. HE WAS TALKING HER. She stared at him, wide eyed. This was it she was going to be stolen away to find treasure! Yes Jack! She would come with you!
She waved her hand shyly at the Captain and then flushed as if the action was embarrassing.

Jack grinned, crouching down. "How would you like to voyage to distant seas with me?" he asked. "Far away from the metal head, where you and I can become... better acquainted."
So called metal head was standing in line to purchase a shark fin for his ghoulfriend to wear in the pool. Poor idiot.

Amphi's eyes widened even more then they already were. She paddled closer and then nodded. Yes! Distant sea's! Where there would be danger and adventure and ships and fighting with swords and dashing pirate comments and...and...
Oh but Roch! Roch had to come! She gestured from her to the boil and then smiled up at the Captain. Really though, only Roch would understand the gestures probably.
Also by better acquainted did that mean that she could find out why he always stumbled every where.

"Aye, you'd want to be far from that mangy devil," Jack said, completely misinterpreting that motion. "A foul boilfriend indeed, keeping you from the water like he did, manhandling you up the stairs--why don't we set out now? I'll need to stop by my room and get my things, of course, but you can come with me."

Amphi blinked at the Captain and then smiled again. Her hands reaching up. What was he talking about, he was going to go get Roch too right?
Why would they need to go to his room? Oh!! He must need his map and compass and stuff! Okay! She waved again and looked at him expectantly. How was a mermaid suppose to get around on land hmm?

"Now... get your legs, so we can go," Jack said, wondering why she hadn't said a word. Oh well, she was a serious babe, wasn't she? Look at that smile! And that CHEST! He'd not seen boobs that big in years! Well, except on his prono movies. He was totally going to lose his job for skipping out for a one night stand, but it would be worth--
"Oye," a deep voice said from behind him. Slowly he turned--and looked up. And up. Metal head was ah... taller than he'd expected. "Ain't you s'posed to be gettin' kicked in the balls by scarelings?"

The mermaid blinked. Well she couldn't get her legs just like that! Pulling herself up, she flopped the tail over and started fanning it. Hoping that he wouldn't get upset by how long it was taking her legs to dry. And all the while, oblivious to the stare on at her chest and the insinuation of perverted things.
Her smile absolutely BLOOMED though when Roch returned!! She pointed to herself, then to Captain jack, then to Roch and her arms spread into a circle, pointed to the ship, and other general locations.
Adventure!!!!!

"Blue Eyes... I know y'like your captain, but this isn't him," Roch said. "Remember the last movie? This is probably the ghoul that looked like him!"
"WHAT?" Jack yelped--sounding much like a ghoul.
"Yeah, I dunno," Roch said, shaking his head. "I'm thinkin' I'd wait for the real captain t'go off and see real ships and such with. The ghoul wasn't nearly as cool, right?"

Amphi was so busy fanning herself that her tail did indeed dry and had the mermaid pushing herself up, frowning. Was this jack a boy? There was only one way to find out. Walking to the Captain, she reached out her hands and touched his chest.
It was flat.
She gave Roch a raised eyebrow and then narrowed her eyes. This was the real Captain Jack! How come Roch didn't see it!
She pointed his finger and nodded her head again. This was good Jack, not ghoul Jack.

"Okay, he's not a ghoul..." Roch said, frowning slightly. "But I still don't think he's the real thing."
"Hey--hey what is going on here?" Jack demanded, wondering why they were discussing his GENDER when he'd been caught hitting on the mermaid!
"Let's try this," Roch said, plucking the hat from Jack's head--and getting the wig as well. "Whoops, sorry, man!" Roch said, revealing the hair net covering Jack's real hair. "You probably need this," he said, handing the hat and hair to the man. He smiled, real friendly like as he did so.

Amphi blinked as Roch did his own investigation and was startled to see the wig fall off. And just like that, Captain jack was a imposter.
Amphi's little mermaid heart was broken. Broken! She was almost fooled to go on a adventure with a false Captain Jack. She moved to Roch and made a very sad face and then walked away.
Such a shame. She was looking forward to adventures.

The crowd started laughing, even the scarelings, at the sight of fake Captain Sparrow in a hair net. Even Roch had a little smile on his face.
He was just a boil, Jack told himself, wondering why he felt the urge to back up. Just a--
"D'ya see this?" Roch asked, pointing to a pin that was hanging from his swimming trunks. "This pin means I'm from Amity. And I just happen to be a hob. Now you might be more badass than I am, seein' as you're ancient, but d'you really wanna find out in a crowd that just saw you tryin' t'steal my ghoul?"
Jack had never graduated high school. Instead of saying that, he put his hat (and wig) on and gave the punk boil a smile that didn't reach his eyes. "I savvy," he said. Then he strolled off--as if he'd won this fight.
Roch snorted. "Poser." Then headed for Amphi again.

Amphi's frowned only deepened as she heard the laughter of the other people at the Captain and steeled herself not to turn around and comfort the boil. Obviously it wasn't fair that he had almost cheated her out of a lame adventure but it didn't mean that he should've gotten laughed at!
She waited off to the side, her arms crossed under her chest as she tilted her head at Roch. She was a little upset at him, more at the fake Jack but because Roch had totally reveled his identity.
