He parked his bike near towards where the party was. Actually, he and the girl behind him on the bike hadn't been going to go to the party; it was just going to be a cute little date at the beach. Merric glanced over at the set up and thought he saw water guns. Oh man, he hadn't played with one of those in soooo long.
So instead of cute little date, it became "let's join in on the fun and meet people because water guns." He grinned at Odette, who sat behind him and took her hand.
"Come on, love. Let's have some fun," he said, and then proceeded to pull her down the sand to the tent. Merric look positively chalk white under the darkblue short sleaved sweatshirt he was wearing, and his black, blue, and silver swim trunks. Did he care? Not in the slightest. He'd already covered himself in spf 80 sunscreen.
"Hey, uh sorry to sort of crash this, but you have water guns. Oh and name's Merric, by the way," he said to the young woman with the supersoaker with a goofy grin of having entirely too much fun.

“Super soaker, of course.” He said after only a moment’s wide-eyed hesitation. He’d really thought for just a moment that she meant, well it didn’t matter. They both knew better than what he had, just for a moment thought. He shot a scowl at the young woman in the camo-bikini who seemed intent on ‘insulting’ what he wore, and soaking his shirt as well. “I am well aware it’s a beach, I’m trying to be nice and not …blind everyone. I don’t think anyone came here to see ‘fish belly pale’ anything. He flustered and turned a light pink in the cheeks, and down his neck actually, and he couldn’t even blame it on sunburn. He did take a hint and fetch himself a super soaker though, the lurid colors were still somehow satisfying, more so the weight of it, knowing he could saturate an opponent without actually doing anymore damage than an ego could handle. He ‘accidently’ fired at (General) Kess, and the young woman in the swimwear before offering up an innocent expression. “Ooops, sorry, not used to the trigger on these things, fancy that though…I’m at the beach. I think I might not have figured it out but for all the sand and that very VERY helpful tip off just now.” He looked maybe a little too smug.

Okay, now it was on like Donkey Kong. "Oh c'mon. Lookit all the pasty people around you, I'm sure no one's gonna give a s**t if you're a little pale! I mean, check out that guy." She nodded her head at this new dude named Merric. She watched the man that was scowling at her and being an over-all grumpy pants walk away to grab a super soaker of his own. Her eyes widened when he fired at her and Kess point-blank. "Yeah... Ooops," she said as her eyes narrowed. His smug look was awfully familiar, but hell if she could put a finger on it. "Unfortunately for you, sir, I've got some mad super soaker skills." The arm she had draped over Kess' shoulders came down and both hands gripped her super soaker like a shotgun. Still at the blonde's side, she pumped her gun a few times and pulled the trigger, relentlessly soaking the blue-haired man.

Geeky s**t. . . cool stuff. . . in the same sentence. She'd discovered the rare, elusive fun and cool geeks. If she had a journal, she would have recorded the moment.
"Quinn. Like that character on Glee?" That was hip right now, too, wasn't it? Something a bunch of geeks would know. Perhaps she'd get geek points.
Then, that comment that inwardly caused her to cringe. "Kess and I aren't--" Saying they weren't friends probably wasn't going to go over well, on second thought. Luckily, she didn't have to finish her sentence.
The tent was turning into a hazard zone. It would only be a matter of time before --it was a good thing she was wearing a swimsuit. In a jerk reaction, Uuni raised her beach-bag up in attempt to block the incoming stream of water. It was terribly ineffective.
"Watch where you're aiming that-- Oh hell." The moment she saw both of Quinn's hands touch her super-soaker, Uuni knew the war had begun. She dropped her bag, kicking it underneath the table where it would at least be moderately protected. Her eyes scanned; she took two jogging steps to the collected arms and ammunition and found a lightweight, pistol soaker that probably peed more than shot.
But it was good for close range. She took aim, and sent it towards Merric's hind end. She may or may not have been using the nearest warm body as a shield.

The conflicting impulses were amazing. On the one hand, the imediate urge was to go march straight back to his ride and drive away because obviously people were being patronizing by calling him Handsome and asking for a beer. On the other hand, maybe it didn't matter if they were just trying to tease a beer out of him. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and he hadn't just kicked back in what felt like an age... or seven. "Uuni? Interesting name." To say the least. Wasn't there a kind of sushi or something named that? No that was.... one 'u' wasn't it? Of course he was one to talk. "Falco Marks. Nice to meet you." He offered, grabbing and offering another beer instead of hand shake. Just as well since she seemed to have her hands full of things to do already. He was surprised a second time when approached by Corey, accepting the handshake with a politely firm one of his own and a slightly surprised blink. "Falco Marks. Nice to meet you." The other mans trunks were amusing anyway, in so far as he cared to pay attention to someone else's pants. Old school. Hard to argue with Pac-Man for old school.

Arilee had a feeling that people grabbing her hands and pulling was going to be a common thing today. Still, it wasn't as if she minded. And in Daphne's case, it added to the sheer adorableness.
"What's so not cool about working in a candy shop," she asked. "It sounds cool to me. Why look for other angles if they aren't you?"
Truly, that was one of Arilee's biggest pet peeves. People who kept trying to be someone other than themselves. Now while she was fairly sure that Daphne wasn't so much trying to pretend as find her niche, she had to make sure. She liked this girl and wanted it to stay that way.
"As for cool," she started laughing as she followed the bluenette. "s**t son, ask around, I am the least cool person around. But I just do my own thing, have fun and occasionally get lucky and meet people who like me the way i am."
As they neared the water, her eyes gleamed as she saw tiny waves lapping the sand. Maybe she wouldn't be surfing any monsters today, but oh, she was going to have fun.

It was a good thing Falco had returned the handshake, otherwise he would have just stood there and stood there and stood there, grinning hand extended until he was directly dismissed. For someone as friendly and socialible as Corey someone not waiting to be his friend was like... unimaginable. Really he was a lot like a puppy. Good at invading people's space bubbles, super excitable, but in the end pretty much harmless and goofy.
But Falco HAD shook his hand, and Corey beamed as he returned the vigorious motions, before moving over a little to at least not tower between the guy and everyone else around, but more settle to his side.
"Enjoying the festitivites?" It was a simple question, though it was pretty well implied that he was also asking about the 'scenery', that he took another moment to enjoy. Woman's bathingsuits! Such majestic pieces of art.
"Did Kess invite you?" He added after a moment curiously. He was mostly just making conversation, trying to figure out what the other guy was about. Or maybe he was just babbling? "She delivers the mail to my arcade, so that's where I got my invite. I own the arcade, Electric Dreamz on the main drag in town." Couldn't help but give a shout out for his 'baby'.She was paying too much attention to everyone else around her, her eyes and excitement darting too quickly from here and there. People dancing around like dorks. A water gun battle. Oh were those people surfing?
The ball hit her wrists just wrong as it impacted sending it wildly towards to the ocean. The explative that escaped her was disguised in Porteguese, but the tone pretty much gave it away nonetheless. Running towards the water, she shook off her sandals, abandoning them on the shoreline before she dove into the salty water.
The small waves tugged at her and her braids as she swam out to try and catch the ball. Luckily the waves seemed to be assisting in pulling everything back, instead of sending it out into what looked like a never ending sea.

Oh crap that was uncool wasn't it? Sighing a bit and doing an awkward hop-step across what was quickly becoming burning-hot sand Daph just shook her head. "Nothing's really wrong with it but it's definitely never how I saw myself when I was burning the midnight oil in high school. I'm really not used to people seeing what I am and liking myself for it, so I guess I'm still stuck in the land of trying too hard?" The sigh that gushed out of the bluenette as they got closer to the water and on damp sand was one of great relief that her scalded soles could finally rest just a little bit. She could stop nancing about like an idiot. "I kinda went from not trying to make friends at all to trying so hard to make friends that I'm kinda stepping in it a lot. I got lucky though with Kess, she's so laid back that nothing bothers her and if I'm being a dork she calls me on it. And Zac makes me look cool, he's more of a dork than I am." Pointing back over the sand at the boy in the black t-shirt she waved her arm in a hello gesture. "Anyway! Sorry, didn't mean to go all Socrates on you, it happens randomly. Philosophical Tourettes? Something like that." Scooping back a few loose curls against the breeze coming up the beach, Daphne put both hands on her hips and grinned at Arilee. "C'mon, lets give me somewhere else to direct all this trying too hard energy. I'm so excited to get in the water."

“ACGACK!!” or that was approximately the sound made by the vaguely familiar looking smirk-er, who’d looked pleased as well when you said ‘Sir’. Now though he just looked, saturated. He made a face but did at least pause to wave back to Daph, why was she pointing at him, should he worry?
Oh lord, that was one of his lieutenants too, also, the shop teacher at Hillworth. He fired the squirt gun at his Assailant again counter drenching her, and Probably Kess too, though less deliberately this time. “Unfortunately I learn quickly.” He replied, peeling at the sodden shirt which was now sticking to his skin, ugh, talk about a humid feeling.

Venice had caved. Not simply but epically. She had caved so bad that caves were now a figment of the imagination. She had told herself she couldn’t go. That she couldn’t. She had training, she had work, she had a house that needed redecorating and a Roller Derby championship to inspire! She literally had a thousand reasons not to go to this beach party and get a sunburn that would crisp her arse right off.
But dam it, when there’s a party with hot semi-nude bodies involved you just don’t say no.
Cruising towards the beach in what she considered was the best form of travel, Venice sat proudly on top of her lightening blue quad bike with the wind in her hair and the dust at her back. Fashioned with a halter neck swimming costume with red plump cherry’s Venice hid it all under a black cotton top and skin tight capri jeans until she could reveal all her lumps and bumps. Her hair was done in typical manner of being pilled into a mess on top of her head while being kept in line with a rockabilly bandana (helmets were for losers!) And to finish the whole look off she had picked the biggest (retro-est) pair of sunglasses and wedged sandal shoes she could find. Racing towards the well know beach getaway her quad bike hummed loudly under her legs as she sped towards her destination. Knowing Kess from the Roller derby track it was only a matter of time until she heard of the beach party and it’s far reaching inventions. Even if she hadn’t shown up Venice would have always known about the gathering, she had a sixth sense when alcohol fuelled parties were happening, she could feel it in her bones.
Arriving she found the place was already packed with faces and there was no second bidding to start undressing to join in. Shedding her outer-layer before hitting the ground she left her precious quad bike crudely parked as she skipped onto the beach. Her hands already lighting a cigarette and grabbing a beer as she dropped off vodka and whiskey and waved to the few people she knew.
“Ha, Aitana, you’re such a fail! Your meant to hit it towards the other side!!”

Annnnd there was what Ari suspected was the real Daphne. And as far as the tall blonde was concerned there was absolutely nothing wrong with that. So, she listened with a smile on her face, made note of the tiny boy (was everyone at this shindig shorter than her and Kess?) and laughed softly.
"Hey, I don't mind philosophical tourettes. And you're honest about it, I like that. Shows character."
Ari took her now freed hand and tweaked Daphne's chin gently. Inhaling the sea breeze, she felt her eyes close in pure bliss for a moment before they snapped back open to show a spark of mischief.
"Oh, I could think of a few ways to redirect some of that energy," she drawled playfully as she began wading further into the water and dragging her board along. "But pretty sure this is a family friendly beach and I'd hated to get kicked out before the party really got going, y'know?"
She paused briefly at the sight of a green haired girl chasing after a volleyball and gave her a passing wave. Then, turning back to Daphne, she winked a sunset colored eye and assumed her best teacher voice.
"Right, cutie. Lesson one is get that board out here and get on it. Stick within about 5 feet of me at all times because if something goes belly up, I want to be able to go after you fast. We're gonna see if we can't get some decent momentum with these baby waves."

The beach wasn't exactly a place that Oliver Greene was familiar with. Tide pools, sure, he loved tide pools they were uniquely contained habitats that were immensely fascinating, but the beach? He was completely out of his depth. There was so much sand, not to mention the need to wear swim trunks in public. It was quite a shake up for a sixteen year old that was more comfortable with fish than people, but when the center of his world said she wanted to go to a beach party he didn't hesitate to acquiesce. It didn't much matter that he wasn't a party person, it would make Allie happy and that made him happy.
Although at this particular moment he wasn't swelling with happiness. He was instead speaking rapid fire Japanese (or as rapid fire as he could manage) as he chased Allie down the beach dragging a cooler full of sodas and snacks on wheels through the sand. "Are you sure you have enough sun screen on? Second-degree sunburns can happen more quickly than you realize!" Tripping over his flip flops his knees hit the sand but he wasn't down for long. Pushing himself up he kept on after the pinkette, still quite worried about her chance of developing skin cancer.
"Should I get your back one more time? I think I might have missed a spot the last time." The last time being the third covering of sunscreen in the last hour and a half. The only problem with worrying so much about Allie is that Oliver had completely forgotten to ask her to apply sunscreen to his own back, and while he was naturally dark that wasn't going to save him from the sunburn to come. Later he would wish he'd worn a shirt, but Allie had insisted that it was completely unfashionable and he wasn't allowed to wear more than his fish covered swim trunks and a pair of sandals, so of course that's all he wore.

The beach party was the first outing that Chase had the luxury of attending without parental supervision which he was thankful for because really, how embarrassing would it be if he had shown up with his mother. Ridiculously. He was grateful that his mother still felt awful about the whole house arrest thing and had caved quickly when he pleaded with her to let him go.
It helped that he wasn't going alone, instead he was accompanied by a pretty blonde, Naomi. She had been put under his care and by some miracle he had been able to convince his parents to let her stay with them. Probably because Lara had always been quick to cave under her son's requests and that the boy hardly ever asked for anything. Especially not when he knew the price.
He turned towards his companion, half a smile on his face as he shielded his eyes from the sun. "I should have brought my sunglasses," he told her absentmindedly shaking his head as he tugged on the strap of the bag on his back. "Ready to meet some new people?" He asked cocking his head towards the crowd that had already gathered.

Even swimming against the current and slightly bobby waves it didn't take her long to reach the ball, grasping it tightly within one looped arm, while half swimming, half letting the waves shove her back towards land. The water was a cool reprieve from the warm day, the sting of a salt both nasty and yet somehow pleasant in her mouth and eyes. Trips to the beach had been a little lacking lately, and as the sun baked her head and shoulders while the cool water lapped at her lower half, Aitana couldn't help but grin in absolute contentment.
When she'd finally found sand beneath her toes again, she heard her name called out even amid all the noise, searching curiously for the source. Luckily Venice was ALWAYS the sort to stand out with her unique style and attitude and it made her pretty easy to find.
Fail! Aitana was not fail! She was awesome at volleyball. She had just been distracted... that's right. Distracted! Her arm hitched back, tossing the ball before she served it towards the other girl, or rather towards the ground around her feet. The distance was enough to make it fall short, bouncing through the sand a couple of times and rolling before settling safetly on shore. "I just want to take a swim." She insisted, seeming to dare the other girl to take another shot at her, playful as they were.
Running her hands through her hair as she made her way up the sand, she brushed back her braids absentmindedly. "No skates today?"
