Oh, it looked like the teacher had seen her. She smiled, trying to calm the frazzled nerves of her sensei. Seriously, he looked like he half expected her eyes to swirl into a bloody red or something...

"Ano, Sensei, there are some people that have yet to hear explanations about chakra for the first time," she said slowly, glancing at Amaya-san. "It might be a little easier on everyone if you slowed down a bit for us please?" she asked as sweetly and politely as she could, while finishing her notes during the time he was writing on the blackboard. Hand signs... this lesson would end quickly for her, at least. Flashing through the 12 positions in her head, she then turned back to her sensei and, lacing her fingers together, waited for the next steps in class.

It was hard to adjust at first, but she supposed it could have been worse. It seemed that Sakura was quickly getting accostomed to the dynamics in this class. She made a mental note to visit the Uchiha clan's dojo during cerfew and train by herself until she caught up with the rest of her teammates that were already ahead. After all, it wouldn't do to be left behind the others now, would it?

He was very glad that his student did not try to murder him, "Certainly!" he replied with a smile "well.. As I just explained there are two types of energies that flow through your body, your physical and your spiritual. The physical energy is a part of every cell in your body, and is increased in numbers by working with the body through such things as: muscle building, increasing your endurance and all around physical efforts with your body. The spiritual is something that is a magical and mysterious part of you, a kind of energy that connects every living thing in the universe and has extraordinary functions that can be channeld through you - to create marvelous things. Now, by combining these two energies, and these hand seals and together with the most powerful thing in the universe - your imagination. You create - jutsus. Also, jutsus is not a must. Jutsus is an aspect of shinobis that must be looked at, atleast through your early years as a shinobi before you choose your specialiazation. But again, not a must. Now, let me give you a demonstration" Ko closed his eyes and took a deep breath before mixing together a couple of handseals to then finish it off by smashing the floor with open palms. A large shake could be felt through the classroom and outside a practice dummy appeared in the garden outside the window - made entirely by harden earth. "There - For example, is what you can do with the information put together. Now! The most boring part of the shinobi journey! We are going to learn the handseals!" he gestured to the hand gestures on the blackboard.

1 + 1 = fail D:
She had to admit, boring was right. But it was also the most important part of the training, which meant she had to get them all right before moving on to anything else. But..... her head drew a blank while staring at her hands. What was the first one again? Uma? Saru? Tora?? Oh dear... it seemed she would need to clear her mind from the mess this morning and concentrate on what she had learned from the clan's teachings again. Think...!

Wow. She had been memorizing them JUST a couple seconds ago, and yet once their sensei told them to practice, the information in her head completely vanished from her head and off to space somewhere. Her fingers and head weren't cooperating with her either. It must not be her day today, and Sakura looked back to face the blackboard. Discreetly hiding her panic, she stared at the board and focused on the first hand sign, Tori. Maybe this time she would be able to make it work.

Yes. Now she remembered everything. Focusing on the hand sign, she curled her thumb and index finger while making the correct hand sign, sending a faint trace of chakra into the stance. 'Thank goodness', Yuki thought as she completed the first hand sign. Relaxing her hands again, she got ready to make the next one on the list, which was I, the sign for Boar. It strained her wrists and was really the least favorite position out of them all, but it was a relatively simple one. Speeding through them, she started on the next ones in succession, "I", "Inu", "Tatsu", "Ushi". Relaxing her fingers a bit, she shaped her hands through the easier ones. Rushing through "I" and "Inu" which were actually quite hard to get wrong, to say truthfully, "Tatsu" for dragon was easy too. Clasping her hands together, she stretched her thumbs and pinkies to match the drawing on the board in order to form the correct seal. "Ushi", the ox, was trickier than she thought. When she was trying to form the seal, her fingers on the left hand unconsciously tried to curl themselves up, instead of staying straight like they should be. But that was ok since she finished them correctly. Re-doing the five sets in consecutive order once more, Sakura sighed, hoping the next ones would be as easy as these.

Wellll..... it seemed that luck was not on her side. Annoyed and angered, she tried to make the position work, but for some reason it wasn't good enough to be content. 'I never knew working with other people could seriously impair my ability to make hand seals, out of all things,' she thought sadly as she looked at the blackboard again to make sure she was doing things right. Keeping calm, she focused again, and hoped it would work this time.

14 - 1 = 13 Success

Amaya just sat and watched as Ko-sensei attempted to regain control that he never had to begin with. She was slightly appalled that people were trying to steer the class the way they wanted: when they were teachers they could do that, but they should have been respecting the fact that this was his class and not their’s. However, there was nothing that she could do to influence them and it seemed as if the teacher was starting to catch on to the flow his class was desiring and reacting accordingly. This was going to be one hell of a day.

Ko-sensei called up two of the boys to claim their alternate lessons. This made it easy for her to spot the two advanced students there today. One of them was the white haired boy that Sakura had introduced her to and the second was the mohawked boy that had entered late. She made a mental note of this, though there weren’t many people to keep track of anyways, just in case she needed some help and couldn’t seem to approach her instructor in the future.

Suddenly, the teacher addressed Sakura, who had seemed to have been giving him some kind of stare to get his attention. While they addressed each other, Ko-sensei was busy scribbling on the board; but still quite neatly. Amaya felt that Sakura was requesting him to slow down for Amaya’s sake, but she was keeping up with the lesson alright. She was just a little overwhelmed by this frantic teacher.

However, after all of the dialogue and drawing and bouncing about the room, Ko-sensei finally assigned their first task. There was a slight bubble of excitement in the small girl’s chest because this was her first step towards her goal. Though this did seem like a slightly remedial task. Looking back to the board, Amaya decided to stare and make. The first one that caught his eye was the sign for the bird. In the image, it seemed that the thumbs touched and pointed back at the creator’s body, the pointer and pinky fingers also touched but pointed upwards while the remaining two fingers folded down between the palms and intertwined.

Once Amaya was certain that she had the picture figured out well enough she gave it a shot. Her fingers weren’t the most nibble because she was used to working with large tools, but sure enough there was the bird sign twisted on her hands sitting in front of her. Amaya looked over her hand to make sure that the sign was just right and she was very content with her result. That was one down, now there were only eleven more to do. With a smile, she loosened her fingers from their contorted position so that she could move on to her next task.

Now that the first one was out of the way it was time to begin the hare handseal. This was one of the few ones that actually resembled the animal for which it was named. The left hand was to be held with the thumb up, the pointer finger extended, and the middle finger half bent while the right hand was had the pinky locked with the left thumb, lying on top of it.

This was the next on Amaya's list and she was still excited to keep going. Who knew that school was fun? Then again, what kid doesn't dream of being a ninja? With the blink of an eye, Amaya's fingers were contorted to adorn the hare seal. There was a little smile on her face as she resisted the urge to make her hands bounce across the table like a rabbit. She would show that to her brothers this evening. They would be thrilled. With two down, Amaya was quite pleased with her progress.

Staring at Amaya-san, she was a bit peeved. What was it with her today?? She had better rest for a bit before she tried it again, since it seemed she needed to take some time away from the hand seals beforet trying it again. Closing her eyes, she started to meditate, slowly putting herself in a trance where she could ignore the other's attempts to manage the hand seals. She hoped this would jolt her shocked brains back to function again after this and speed through the hand seals, which weren't going as fast as she thought they would.

20 Roll = Double Success

The next sign on the boar looked incredibly easy, but then again she didn’t want to get too confident with this being her first task. Before she picked the next sign she stole a glance over at Sakura, who had closed her eyes and was seemingly meditating. Maybe she was having a difficult time with the task? Then again, she may have been just a little flustered with all of the ridiculous activity that had occurred that day.

Turning her attention back to the board, Amaya moved on to her next hand sign. The boar was listed under this next sign as Amaya took in the image. It seemed that the handseal was fairly simple mechanically. All of the fingers and the thumbs tucked and pressed together, then flipping the whole mess upside down. With another once over of the image on the board the girl decided it was time to give it a go. She bent her fingers and twisted at the wrist, sure enough there was the boar formed with her hands. For some reason she couldn’t help but wonder how in the world someone came up with handseals and how they had been named. It was a random thought that seemed both relevant and irrelevant at the same time.

With her third sign created successfully, Amaya released the seal and let her fingers stretch out again. She frowned ever so slightly when she looked at her fingers. They were long for her size and she knew that it seemed exaggerated since she fixated on it a little, but it still bothered her ever so slightly. She would grow into them someday. She was sure of it.

However, it was time to get over being weirded out by her fingers and to move onto the next hand sign. The next one on the board was for the dog symbol. This couldn't be too difficult. All it was was a balled up fist under a flat palm. Sure enough, Amaya learned the sign without any difficulties and slipped right into it on the first try. Then again, this one didn't even require any dexterity. With a gentle smile, Amaya released the sign, ready to move on to the next one.

Once more the child turned her eyes to the board. The horse seal looked more like a camel to her, but that really didn't matter. With a slight shine of excitement in her eyes, Amaya traced the seal in her mind, making sure to memorize it as best she could. Palms towards the body, pointer fingers touching in a steeple type fashion, thumbs and remaining fingers bent, and all the fingers that could reach were intertwined with one another. Running the motion over in her mind and doing a slow, dry run was helping with the girl's success. Or so she assumed. It didn't take long for a perfect horse seal to appear before her. That little contented smile remained on her lips and she loosened her hands from the position in order to focus on the monkey seal.

This one also seemed easy. She had watched shinobi perform handseals before, but they had never seemed this easy. Maybe that was why they were able to do them so quickly. Perhaps they just appeared difficult because of the unrealistic speed they could perform them at. No matter, she was going to have these seals down to perfection. Period. This particular hand sign was simply palm to palm with thumbs and pinkies locked. Sure enough, there was the monkey in front of the girl. While this was easy, Amaya did see some more challenging seals on the board.

Next, Amaya chose to take on the ox. This one was believable because she could see the horns in the diagram. According to the image, the right hand was to be palm down with fingers splayed and the left hand was to sit perpendicular, making the horns with the pointer and pinky while holding on with the rest. After a successful recreation, she made a mental note that this would be a good one to use to play with her brothers. They would adore a little hand ox charging them. She could hear the squeals and the giggles in her head and she couldn't help but miss the little buggers.

Pulling herself back from la la land, Amaya checked the next seal: the ram. She was having a hard time using her imagination with this one, so this would be one that stayed at school and didn't make it to play time with her brothers. This one seemed pretty simple as well. The right hand curled all but the pointer and middle fingers and the left did the same while resting on top of the right one. With little effort, Amaya made the handseal. While this did seem easy, Amaya knew that there were some seals on the board that were going to give her some difficulties, but she was ready to push through that.

9 - 1 = 8 Failure

Amaya was starting to get into this lesson. She understood the significance of it, so that helped to make something so mundane and redundant a bit more tolerable than it would have been otherwise. Since she was from a civilian family, and the other students had probably heard that, she kept her eyes on her own task and left everyone else to their business. After all, if she was focusing on other people there was no way she ever would have figured out the first two as well as she had.

Lost in her thoughts, Amaya stared at the board for a little while. The next one she was going to try was the dragon, since her confidence was up and it looked like one of the more complicated ones. She wasn’t getting cocky, but she was feeling up to a challenge. According to the diagram, all of the fingers were pointed away from the body with the pinkys touching and pointed downwards. The thumbs were resting on top, overlapping one another. The three fingers between were laced together and bent so the fingertips were pointing back at the body.

Once she had analyzed the diagram it was time to give it a whirl. With some twisted and some bending Amaya failed to make the hand sign. There was something off of with it and she couldn’t quite pinpoint it. With a little bit of maneuvering and some turning she looked over the twisted fingers and noticed that there was something off about the positioning of her thumbs in comparison to the diagram. Oh well, with two successes under her belt and this being a completely new realm for her this was bound to happen and she would be very surprised if this was the only time it occurred during the course of this assignment.

Oh! And it seems that it is 5/5 not 12/12, look at my earlier post, I've made some changes))

Ko felt bad for the Uchiha girl, struggling with the most easiest of tasks. Even more so when she was of the clan Uchiha and the non-clan girl was succeeding with such ease, the poor girl must be loosing her mind. "Hey" Ko said as he walked up to her bench "try limbering up your fingers first - put them through some stretches or more complicated postures then the actual handseals. That might make things easier" he said as he did some unbelievable silly handgesture, that kinda look like it hurt a bit.

"Can Inechi Shironaegi and Fudou Akio please come down here" Shiro heard from Obieko-sensei. Obieko being Shiro's new nickname for their sensei. The meaning being scared child. The boy yawned again as he got up from his seat as he walked the short distance to Obieko-sensei to take one of papers from him. As Shiro looked over the piece of paper he quickly realized that it was an alternate schedule for the two of them, and that the first thing on the list was a sparing match. Having done before Shiro wasn't too worried about it but he wasn't exactly proficient in any kind of taijutsu at all. He much preferred ninjutsu and the wielding of swords. "Hey Akio I guessing we're spar now?" he said to the other boy.

6 - 1 = 5 Failure

Amaya started going over the dragon sign again slowly and with purpose because this was one she was going to focus on. This one required a notable flexibility in the fingers but with the girl’s disproportioned fingers she didn’t quite have control of them. Sure, eventually she would learn how to work them and eventually she would have control, but at this point they still had a bit of a mind on their own. However, this was just a small hump in the girl’s progress and she wasn’t going to let something as silly as this stop her.

While she wasn’t as confident as she had been a moment ago, Amaya tried for the dragon sign again. Again she laced her fingers together and pointed her pinkies, but she was still having trouble with the thumbs. They were trying to lock together instead of rest on top of one another and just be there. This was yet another failure, but it was also making her weak point very evident. At least now she knew what she needed to focus on for the next go around.

The child took in a deep breath and released it slowly, trying to loosen the small muscles in her fingers. She decided to take the advice that Ko-sensei had given Sakura and Amaya went to pulling and stretching her thumbs. They really didn’t want to move the way she wanted them to. She put the pads of her thumbs on the edge of the table in front of her and pushed her hands under the table.

Once she was content with the loosened status of her fingers, Amaya decided it was time to give it another try. Sure, maybe she should have switched to something a bit simpler so that she would be able to stretch out her fingers just by practicing other hand signs; but Amaya had a stubborn streak, so she would continue practicing this one until she got it right. With a short breath in and out, the child twisted and contorted her fingers. Sure enough, there was the dragon seal that she had been working so hard to create. She turned and twisted her hands, looking at all the different fingers and their placement to make sure it was perfect. With a smile, she released the seal, ready to begin the next one.

Finally, she could be proud of getting through one of the more complicated ones and moving onto the next symbol. Amaya chose her next symbol based on one of her favorite animals: the tiger. It was so bright and graceful, yet devastatingly powerful. Just the opposite of what Amaya was. This seal looked like a cross between the ram and the horse seals. Like the horse, this one had steeple-like pointer fingers, but the hands and the fingers were held much like the rat seal. Having that in mind, it didn't take long for her to make the seal and to check yet another one off the list.

Then she moved over to the serpent. Wow. If she messed up the serpent she would be best off quitting the academy then and there. After all, this was a large hand hold like would be used for wielding the metal shop tools that she was all too familiar with. Placing her palms together, Amaya laced her fingers together and there sat the serpent seal. She couldn't believe she was almost done; but what would she do afterwards?

Fudou was decidedly unimpressed by most of the students. None of the girls looked worthy of his time, though Yae was a pretty hard standard to beat really. And the boys were just snoozing away. Well, this was understandable if they were both advanced... Fudou was quickly getting used to his new teacher's excitable jumps and expression. When he produced two pieces of perfect calligraphy in what seemed like seconds he even wondered if Manabu was a Fuuin specialist to be able to write so accurately and quickly.

He took the schedule from his teacher and gave it a quick glance before reaffirming his impressions of the white haired kid. Inechi Shironaegi, huh... With a pang of disappointment he realised that Manabu-sensei had still written his first name on the schedule. It was too much effort to bring this up to the teacher, but to his classmate... Fudou sighed. "It's Fudou." He wasn't looking forward to sparring since hand to hand wasn't his strong point. Well, it was more like he had received no training in it... at all. He looked around the room, finally stopping at Manabu-sensei. "Should we spar in here or go outside?"
