Gangrel leapt away from the vulpix, avoiding most of the damage. "Gangrel, taunt!" Gangrel grinned as he turned to the vulpix. [I've felt hotter flames in an aquarium!]

Ares scoffed as he took his position again. A weak taunt. He nearly threw one back at the Rattata but then Clyde called out, "Again!"
The vulpix charged forward again, fur flaming.

The vulpix hit it's mark this time, and Gangrel was burned badly.
"Flame Wheel!"
Gangrel's eyes shifted to orange, and he sent a ring of flame at the vulpix.

Ares was skidding back to his side of the field when Gangrel's ring of fire grazed his side. Even though he was a fire-type, he wasn't impervious to burns. A shame.
Only a minor burn. Still, they could use that to their advantage. "Facade!" Clyde called.
The vulpix ran at the Rattata and using the power of his burn added strength to the normal-type attack.

It was almost a shame Ares' burn had worn off and he had managed to dodge the second one, but Clyde didn't mind, and neither did his pokemon. Although the burns made his attacks stronger, he didn't like being burned any more than usual.
"Flare Blitz, aim to injure," Clyde commanded.
Ares shot off like a rocket with a tail of flame behind him.
