Yuri had known something was off, and he'd tried to do something about it... and failed miserably. Talk about kicking a man when he's down. Things just haven't been going right for him the past couple of days, and today it was just completely random. It really sickened him, how people got away with such crap. If he hadn't already been injured, he could have taken her out with no problem. He was easily stronger than her, and if he'd had his sword, he probably could have scared her off with just that. But no... everything was working against Yuri today.
The man barely noticed as Luke released his Pokemon, and they took off in pursuit of the girl. Luke's words towards him though, got his attention.
"Yeah," Yuri admitted in a grumble. He then painstakingly pushed himself up into a sitting position, and lifted a hand to rub his head. Ow... falling twice really hadn't done a thing for his concussion. "What about you?"

Physically, Luke wasn't really aware of himself, but he knew he hadn't been wounded or harmed in any way, so he responded accordingly, "I'm fine." He considered attempting to catch up with his pokemon, but even if he managed to do so, they would move more quickly without having to account for his position. He stood and moved towards the bag that had been discarded near the tree, sifting through its contents. "I have a Revive in here," he kept one on hand just in case a practice battle ever got out of hand, "if you want to use it for Repede."

"Yeah, thanks," Yuri muttered distractedly at the offer of giving Repede a revive. He was thinking back on the words exchanged between Luke and that girl. Was she really with Team Rocket? What did they want people's Pokemon for anyway?
"Does this happen a lot?" He meant the stealing thing of course. Stealing Pokemon wasn't really something you heard about in Grande Ile, but it seemed to be much more common place in Kodo.
He had to wonder where those Pokemon went. It would make sense if they ended up in places like that Poke Pit thing he encountered yesterday. Did that mean Kratos was a Rocket too?

He took the Revive in hand and moved to the fallen Growlithe, using the healing item to restore Repede's vigor. "I dunno," he replied absently. "It sure seems to. Rosie's had two pokemon stolen, and I ran into someone who had just stolen a pokemon when I first came to Kodo. There was that Izaya guy who said he had something stolen, and there was the Sandalwood contest a while back that got raided by Team Rocket, and I don't even know how many times I've heard of incidents where people almost had pokemon stolen." He turned the husk of the expended Revive over in his hand idly. "Rosie and I were targeted once a while back and we fought them off, so I guess I was kind of confident."

Once the revive was used, Repede's one eye blinked open and he slowly stood, first looking up at Luke, then at Yuri. He then moved over to the latter, checking him over with a critical eye and nose to make sure he was okay. Yuri just reached out a hand and ruffled the dog's head fur.
Yuri remained silent as he listened to Luke, and he didn't particularly like what he was hearing either. Sounds like this sort of thing -did- happen a lot. Team Rocket was a bigger problem than he realized.
"What the hell're they tryin to do," he mused aloud in his still slightly slurred speech.

When Repede stood and moved away, Luke's gaze wandered to the forest. Leste and Tenebrae still weren't back. Were they still looking, or in pursuit, or had they found her and were in confrontation, or...?
He stood and returned to his bag to dispose of the used Revive. "Dunno. That first chick that I ran into here, she'd just stolen a pokemon and was fleeing the scene. I asked her why she was doing it and she said it was because she couldn't afford pokemon of her own, or pokeballs or..." He narrowed his eyes scathingly with a slight shake of his head. "Sounds like a load of crap to me, given how huge a problem it is. But if not that, then I have no idea."

Pulling up one of his legs, Yuri draped an arm over his knee as he thought. Which wasn't too easy thanks to his foggy brain. He had an idea, but... he didn't really know for sure, so he didn't mention it.
"Yeah, thah doesn' make shense. They have ta be usin them fer shomethin."
Man he really sounded ridiculous, but Yuri didn't care in the least.

Using them, wasn't that just a fantastic thought. From the way that girl was talking, it could have been something like medical experiments. The faint, lingering sense of panic drew intensity from the thought, and Luke exhaled carefully.
"It's a shame my brother hates me so much," he shrugged, forcing a half-hearted laugh. "He's with Team Rocket. He's the one who stole Rosie's Vaporeon. Probably knows all about everything."

That was something he hadn't expected to hear, and Yuri turns his head to look at Luke.
"Brother, huh?"
Man that's gotta suck, to know what you have family members in an organization like that.
"Yeah, I don' think he'd be tellin ya anythin even if he liked ya."
Talk about a disfunctional family.

"Yeah, probably not."
There was a flutter of large wings as Leste reappeared, Tenebrae following from the forest shortly after. Neither looked particularly excited about their return even as Luke moved forward to meet the bird as she touched the ground and the dark-type as he took a place beside her. It was easy to see that neither had the luxury ball with them, and, hopeful for at least some kind of lead, Luke pressed questions against them, "Did you see what way she went? Or if she dropped anything we could use to track her? Anything at all?"
The pokemon pair deflated slightly, their gestures all that were needed to indicate a negative response. No sign of her, no trace of her, no indication that he'd ever find her - and, by property of association, Mieu. The trainer exhaled lightly, "Well, can't be helped, I guess. We'll just have to work twice as hard, to make up for Mieu not being here and to make sure we can fight if someone comes along trying to take someone else away." He maintained as optimistic an expression as his features would permit, returning Leste and Tenebrae to their respective pokeballs. This complete, he turned to address Yuri.
"You still have my sword laying around?"

Hearing the return of the Pokemon, Yuri looked on, hoping for the best but not really counting on it. Which appeared to be a good call since the pair came back empty-handed and dejected. Damn.. she really did get away didn't she, and with whatever Pokemon Luke had in that ball.
The kid was actually taking it pretty well considering, but... he could just be putting up a tough act. If it had been Repede... Yuri didn't even want to think about that.
Black eyes turned back to Luke at his question. "Yeah, s'at my place."
He was starting to wonder when the kid would finally ask for it back.

Luke didn't really know what to do with himself besides put up a tough act. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to react or even how he wanted to react. Mieu had been by his side literally longer than he could remember. He couldn't even begin to comprehend the idea that the Flareon was gone. Amidst the facade of normalcy, there were small indications still-lingering panic and the slow onset of despair.
"You mind if I swing by and grab that?" Yes, he was going to ask for it back. Maybe wielding a sword would get people hurt, but being without a means of defense would get people hurt as well. He had some choice in the matter, though, so he was going to make sure the ones that got hurt were the ones that deserved it.

"Shure," Yuri said and then tried to stand up. Ugh. He was going to be sore all over now, not just his face. He staggered a bit but managed to get to his feet without face planting.
The talk of swords though reminded him of his own lack of a weapon. Damn it all. Of all the things to lose. He could have really used that just a few minutes ago. Fate really did hate him. Maybe he was cursed or something. ... Naw.
Trying to look about as normal as possible, Yuri started to slowly walk.. or rather stumble, in the direction of town again. Yeah, this would probably be really slow going. He still didn't quite have his full motor control yet.

The staggering gait, in spite of all efforts, didn't go without notice. Luke still wasn't completely sure what had happened - he had thought it was a gun, but it certainly didn't produce a gunshot nor leave behind a bullet - but he at least recognized that it had had some kind of enduring effect.
"So I'm pretty sure I know what you'll say, but are you sure you're all right?" Movements like that weren't generally the mark of someone who should be moving about, but Luke wasn't especially sure there was much merit to be gained from taking a breather in the grass. The trainer himself was so exhausted it was painful, but he was used to feeling tired or sick and carrying on nonetheless, and if he stopped moving now he wasn't sure how he would start again. As it was, his feet seemed to understand the concept of progress of their own accord, and he was hesitant to take that away from them.

With Luke's words, Yuri heaved another sigh through his nose. Well gee... when you say it like that, makes him sound like some stubborn mule that won't accept anyone's help. And he might have said something like that, if it wasn't too many words.
"It'll wear off 'venshully, but if you wanna help we might get there fashtur."
He was in a pretty sour mood, but he did his best to hide it. After all, he wasn't the one that lost a Pokemon here. Plus, helping him might take Luke's mind off of it somewhat until they were in a less public area.
