Beloved Stargazer

"Through, to be honest. He really is not that much older than she is. For a night elf, anyway." As far as mental ages were concerned, anyway... He might understand the concept better than either of them might expect.

It would still be better if Adi told him herself, through. Perhaps he could try to reassure her on that subject.

"That sounds like a perfectly good plan to me." He took another sip from his cup. "I would have to get Whisteria involved, too..."

"Really? I didn't realize that. It's likely she doesn't, either." He could understand her reluctance, though, after dealing with a significant shortage of potential 'interests' who hadn't known her when she was young. Given that much of the Pantheon's population was immortal, he was willing to bet that the hang-up was a recently-acquired one.

"The more the merrier." Rio tapped his chin, thinking. "Should we try to keep it a surprise, do you think?"

We just stopped aging in young adulthood and that was that. Elik's, uh..." Xun Jiang made a face. After one point the years just kind of blurred together. "I cannot really remember for sure. About 1000 ? Maybe ? We'd stop maturing around 1500 or so."

Through he'd noticed, in between the times he had seen him, that Elik had changed a little bit. A little broader in the shoulders mostly. Made sense, Xun Jiang figured. "I figure night elven lifespans would be more like normal elves now, but no one knows for sure."

"Of course we should." That was most of the fun right there ! "Does Adi like jewelry ? I could probably get Neith to make something." He mused. Something simple, that wouldn't get too badly tangled, most likely. "Could probably barther myself another cake, too." The one he had made for Glyph's party had been delicious.

"Five, a thousand, not much of a gap," Rio noted with a chuckle. "I definitely see now why she'd be worried about it. But they're all just numbers, in the end."

"What is a normal elven lifespan?" Still long, he was guessing, but it was relevant! Adi was probably ageless, after all, and even if she wasn't, she would be an aoide eventually...and live indefinitely. He didn't doubt it had never fully dawned on her in any real sense that people got old and died.

"She does," he answered, nodding. "Although I'm sure she'd love anything and everything anyone got her."

And, well, cake went without saying. As long as it wasn't burned to a crisp, Adi loved cake, and even then she might still try to eat it.

Really, ever since the night elves had joined the alliance, he had become used to being surrounded by beings that looked much older than their ages would have them be. "He is used to people looking older than they should... Humans and all. A 50 years old night elf was more or less a toddler."

Yeah.

"Hm. A hundred ? Maybe ? At least that's how it goes for the other elves on Azeroth." The concept of getting old and dying had been something Illisia had anguished on, and even now he dreaded it in a much different way. He might, for all intents or purposes, be immortal again, but Elik was not. Neither was Whisteria, and her daughter.

He had no wish to see any of them grow old and die. Not at all.

But, there were much happier things to think about. "I do not think Elik will have issues thinking up ideas at all." He was observant, when he felt like it.

"...I must admit, that is a terrifying thought. I'm not sure how I would have handled a hundred years of temper tantrums and biting." On the other hand, it would have meant much longer with tiny, adorable Adi. But bitey.

A hundred? Hmm. Not so different than humans then, really. But not something Rio cared to think about right now, either!

"I imagine he would have a few," he agreed. "And we have plenty of time to plan, almost two months."

"Wonder if we could get the market again." The Dragon King mused - his tail had unfurled slightly and was tapping lightly against the floor in thought. "Or we could fancy up a clearing somewhere." Getting Glyph to help would not be an issue, he thought.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 19, 2012 12:45 am

"She'd like a clearing, I think." He watched the dragon's tail tap the floor, and took a sip of wine. "Her clearing, maybe? The one with her tree in it?" Yes, that was definitely something Adi would like very much.

Which could either be difficult or easy, depending on said people's ability not to slip in front of Adi.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 19, 2012 11:37 am

"Hmm." Rio took another sip, his wings flexing idly behind him while he thought. "That should be easy enough, in most cases, though there are some who aren't around often. As for her not noticing...that shouldn't be too hard, either, as long as no one says anything."

One cookie was nibbled on absent-mindedly. "So we got cake, we got presents, we got the people... Could probably get Elik to help with the food." If his son had not grown too lazy to hunt, but knowing Adi it would likely not be the case.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 19, 2012 12:17 pm

Rio nodded in agreement. "Word does spread fairly quickly around here, so it shouldn't take long."

"Nashwa can help with the food, too - not with the hunting, but with the cooking," he elaborated. It was hard to imagine the delicate little katta chasing down large game, despite her claws. Maybe her saurus, but he doubted anything the dinosaur-like creature brought down would remain...presentable.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."That would be good. If my son's cooking is the same as it usually is... Well, if you ask him to do anything more than roasting things on a fire the end result is likely to be... questionable." Ah, Elik. The thought certainly did amuse the Dragon King greatly.

The hunting, through, both he and Elik could easily handle pretty easily. "Could catch some fish, too."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 19, 2012 12:59 pm

Fortunately, Rio had just set his wine down, or he might have been in trouble when he laughed. "At least he can do that much! If it's not cookies or cake, Adi undercooks it - which is alright if you're a werewolf, I suppose."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Oh, you do not want to go to deeply into Elik's eating habits when he's alone, either." Undercooking things - sometimes drastically - was apparently fine for druids, as well.

No wonder those two got along.

"I could probably get Lindita to help too. She gets restless, and would enjoy something to do." And when Lindita got restless, well... Small scale tug-of-wars happened. The aoide was used to serve, and he certainly was used to doing things for himself - through he had learned to relent to keep the peace.
