The female turned to gently nuzzle her companion in return, still flustered and her heart racing somewhat from their conversation. "You're silly.. but that's another thing I adore about you." It seemed he always knew what to say to make her flustered - but in a good way. She had grown to love the feeling of butterflies she got whenever they were out together like this. Even if she was incredibly tired at the moment, which made her even more sensitive.
She couldn't help but chuckle silently at his remark, then. "If they take after their father, no one will be safe from them", she jokingly replied. Amun was indeed quite a charmer - were personality traits something that could be passed down? Esha could hardly remember her own mother, and her older sister was somewhat more outgoing than she was. "I guess our kits would be partial stars, as well, technically speaking? I wonder if that will affect their appearance." She then stopped to ponder for a moment. Amun had his star charm around his ankle, as well as coloration that sort of reminded her of the Milky Way.. would all starborn gladiers have similar coloring or traits? Maybe they could be told apart from regular gladiers, somehow.. but then again, Esha's own family had a very similar coloration, they all were somehow reminiscent of the night sky. Maybe one of her ancestors was a star, as well? It was an amusing thought, even if an unlikely possibility.

"I'm not silly," Amun objected, blushing at the compliment that followed. The blush deepened at her joking and all he could do was fidget in shy embarrassment.
He forced it away when the subject went back to stars. "Star children sounds better," he replied. "And it's very possible..." For one thing, children tended to look like their parents--and Amun had been a star. And with how the heavens worked, he wouldn't be surprised if they didn't want to leave their mark on the starborn children.
The Gladier took a minute to realize that they'd stopped again. "We should continue heading home." He nudged Esha gently. "We can talk once we're there."

"You can be a little silly, at times", she insisted, playfully sticking out her tongue. She then nuzzled his cheek again softly, smiling warmly.
"I guess that'll be a mystery until the time comes", Esha mused. "But I think it would make sense that the children of stars would somehow look like stars, as well." Maybe, just maybe, it wasn't such a far-fetched idea after all that her family line had their roots in the heavens, as well.. it would have explained their fascination with stargazing, for one, that seemed like an inherited trait in her sister's children, as well.
She then gasped when she realized that indeed, they had stopped once again. She smiled sheepishly at Amun as they began walking again. "Guess we got too carried away with the conversation.. I didn't even realize that we had stopped. The sun's probably pretty high already.. we really should sleep soon", she thought as the two of them headed towards their den.

Amun didn't argue with her. He'd let her think he was silly if she wished. He nodded at her speculation and couldn't help chuckling at her sudden realization that they'd stopped. "Just a little."
"That's probably a good idea," he agreed. After all, who knew what adventures the night would have in store for them?

((We should probably do a time-skip to the next evening once they're settled in?)) Fatigue crept up on the female with twice the power from earlier. The excitement of their discussion had kept her going for a while, but now she paid the price. She had never stayed up this long in the morning before. She yawned a few times as they walked onward, nearly tripping on a few occasions when her eyelids began to grow heavier by the minute.
"I think we stayed up a little too long.." even her thoughts were growing somewhat slow and jumbled at this point. "I can hardly think straight nnymore..." At least they were finally close to home. Esha stretched out her limbs briefly as they arrived, yet managed to fumble over the roots of the tree their den was dug under. She fell flat on her face in the entrance of their little nook, rubbing her muzzle with a slight frown as she sat up. "Who put these roots here.."

(( Probably. ))
Amun felt himself slowing as well. "I think you're right..." When she fell, however, he sprang to her side. At her thought, he chuckled. "The tree did, Esha." He curled around her and nuzzled her cheek. "Sleep," he encouraged gently.

"I could swear that one wasn't there b'fore.." Esha thought, frowning. "Maybe I'm juss too sleepy.."
She nuzzled Amun softly, settling down beside him, her eyes unable to stay open for any longer. "Sleep well, Amun.." It didn't take long until her breathing evened and she drifted off into a deep sleep.
In her dreams, she was walking high among the stars, and could actually see several of them falling down into the glades, whether the result of someone's wish or of their own volition, she couldn't tell. A wide smile spread on the sleeping Spica's face, as she felt that her love wasn't alone in his rather spontaneous decision to leave the heavens.

"Maybe." Amun couldn't help being amused at his tired companion. She was so cute!
"Sleep well, Esha..." He stayed awake for a few more moments before drifting off as well.
Amun dreamed that he was staring up at his former abode, watching stars shoot across the sky and disappear. He couldn't help wondering where they were going. Had they chosen to fall to the earth like he had? Or were they leaving for somewhere entirely different? Maybe he'd meet some of them...

Finally, night crept upon the woods once again, enveloping everything in soft, inky darkness. The sounds of day gradually died out as diurnal creatures retired into their nests, and in their place cicadas, owls and other nocturnal critters began to move and fill the air with their cries.
Esha stirred some before her eyes finally fluttered open. She yawned and stretched languidly, and then turned to Amun, nuzzling him softly. "It seems we slept past sunset.. it's completely dark again", she thought as she peeked out of the den.
She could no longer remember what she had dreamt of, but she clearly recalled how serene it made her feel, whatever it was. Tonight would probably be rather pleasant. It was still warm, but not exhaustingly so. She couldn't make out the sky through the canopy of the trees, but she hoped it would be clear for star-gazing. It was, after all, one of her favorite things to do when she wasn't busy looking for food. Or maybe they could look for a small spring to swim in?

Esha's nuzzling roused him from his sleep, his dreams slipping away from him. "We did...?" He lifted his head and peered out as well, staring out into the familiar darkness. Amun discovered that he was feeling a bit relieved at the sight; daytime was nice, but it was simply too bright.
Even so, it was a debate as to whether he wanted to get up. He was comfortable...

Their den did indeed feel particularly comfy tonight for some reason.. for the time being, Esha settled back down beside Amun, scooting up as close to the male as she could. "Still feeling sleepy?" she asked, her eyes wandering over the walls of their little home, the dim glow of her markings faintly illuminating the dirt and roots they were resting under.
The activities she was mulling over moments before could be done later on, if they so wished. Sometimes, she figured, it was nice to just stay close to each other and enjoy the warmth.
How long had they been living together, sleeping together, basically spending each waking moment with each other? She had lost track. It couldn't have been too long, but it felt like they had always been like this. It truly was a nice feeling, as if you'd known someone for your entire life. The female smiled again, her gaze shifting to her companion.

"A little..." Amun moved closer to Esha, her very presence making him happy. He sighed contently, closing his eyes for a moment. This life was much more eventful than the one he used to live, but that's one of the reasons he liked it so much. Everything seemed so shiny and new to him. Even a walk through the forest brought about new discoveries, and he was lucky enough to have Esha to explain those new things to him.
When he opened them again, he saw Esha smile and her gaze fix onto him. "What are you thinking about?"

Esha smiled sheepishly, tilting her head a little. "Guess you really are still tired since usually you can pretty easily tell what I'm thinking", she replied. Or maybe he could only really read her mind when she was putting her thoughts together into coherent sentences? She figured it would be difficult to understand something that didn't really have any kind of form or order, which was often the case when she let her mind wander.
As soon as she realized she'd gotten carried away again, she shook her head a little, giving Amun's snout a little gentle lick. "I wasn't really thinking of anything specific.. just how happy I've been ever since you arrived. It feels like you've always been here." Her tail wagged slightly as she recalled some of their ventures, and how much she'd enjoyed teaching Amun about the world.

"There are different types of thoughts," Amun informed her. "If I heard everything, it would be confusing." He smiled slightly as her eyes got that distant gaze they always had when she was lost in thought.
He blushed when she licked his snout, which spread at her words. The Gladier licked her cheek. "I feel the same." He happily nuzzled his head against Esha's. "Like everything before meeting you... was just a dream."

The small female nodded slightly. Amun's words made perfect sense to her. It would probably be really difficult, even scary, to hear every single thing someone else was thinking of. One would probably go insane in the long run.. "I guessed it was something like that, but I suppose I never paid it too much attention before", she admitted.
She blushed a little as well when he spoke again. She was happy the feeling was mutual. "You've adapted pretty fast to everything down here. I guess life as a star isn't quite as eventful.." she pondered then. There couldn't have been all that much to do up in the heavens, right?
