"I could be the taste tester," Ricky snickered as jobs were delegated for the make-believe chocolate store for the group. "And o'course I got cups, not like I don't keep good care of my own home." This may ring as a boldface lie to everyone else in the room, but he thought he did a fairly alright job. Just the other day he shooed away one of the rats living in his sink cabinet that managed to escape. He shooed it right back into the cabinet.
"There's some those red plastic cups in the shelf next to the fridge," he continued. "They're right next to the ping pong balls." Naturally.
"So the reason I invited ya'll out here wasn't just to party hard but to meet and make friends and things and s**t..." he meant to end that sentence after 'friends' but kept running his mouth. "We're a team 'n all, right?"

Bo was happy to drink and chat and eat delicious mouse-shaped snacks. He did so for a decent while, mingling amongst his fellow Zodiacs. Then, at some point, after excusing himself to the bathroom, Bo inevitably got distracted by something shiny -- perhaps something to go take a photograph of -- and disappeared from the party without a formal goodbye.
It was pretty much his style.

"Taste is pretty subjective." Holi pointed out, taking the whole conversation a bit more seriously as she planned out the whole imaginary thing. "If I ran a chocolate store I'd probably try and get opinions from the whole staff, to get a broader idea of what might work for sale."
"...I guess we're a team...I mean we are... kind of."
Kind of was a good word for it. More like a bunch of people who had been thrown into a bag and shaken to see what fell out.

Mary made her way out the outskirts of the group and grabbed a soda. She listened to the conversation, happy to be around people and not necessarily interacting. She didn't have to interact to enjoy herself and thus she wasn't. It was probably odd to see such a happy girl off to the side by herself, but she really wasn't by herself. She was within earshot of anyone of the group, in case.
She stayed that way until her soda was finished. Her phone buzzed and she flipped it open. A message from her grandmother, asking her to meet her at the grocery store, flashed on the screen. She sighed a little and threw her empty can away.
She thanked Ricky for the gathering, waved goodbye to the rest of the group and slipped out the door with a flop of her gryphon's limbs.
