Love Interest: It's widely rumored that Akemi has a fiancée chosen by her parents. She might be the only one who knows for sure, and she's not telling.
Personality: Akemi is almost always smiling. She is cheerful, encourages others to do their best, willingly teaches when asked, and in general tends to come across as a picture-perfect young lady. Unfortunately, reality is rarely so simple. Behind her smile, she feels the pressure to succeed. For as long as she can remember, her parents have told her that she must be better than others, that she is special, and that she cannot lose. She's held up fairly well, but every now and then, a few cracks can be seen... especially because she believes she really is the recipient of divine blessings, and thus someone who must uphold that gift at any cost.

From your very birth, you have been blessed by the powers of the gods themselves. You carry the hopes and dreams of all your ancestors upon your shoulders, and you cannot let them down."

Averaging 100/100 in academics and 94/100 in special powers, Akemi is the #3 student in the class mainly because the two students ahead of her have even more impressive abilities. However, while she works hard to try and surpass them (and these efforts mean it's not easy for anyone below to catch up), she seems to see them more as goals than enemies, mainly because she has a habit of blaming herself for anything she perceives as an inadequacy.

She's considerably more athletic than she looks, having trained with a straight, one-handed blade since she was a young girl. She prefers quick thrusting attacks, especially because they leave her free to dodge retaliatory blows - she's not weak, but her durability isn't exceptional, and she tries to avoid needing to heal mid-fight. She's also been known to pull her blows when fighting her classmates, believing that the full extent of her power is only for use on things she deems evil.

Unique Traits

[All students in the Tokyo Yard Academy experience extensive physical and mental training, allowing them to achieve the peak of their own physical capabilities on the battlefield. This intense training combined with their unique abilities allows them to compete with and fight against others supernatural entities, though given that their education is not yet complete, some fluctuation in readiness between students for supernatural combat is expected. Each student in the Tokyo Yard is, however, quite distinct in style depending on their unique ability. Blessing of the Amatsu
Several years after her birth, Akemi was implanted with power that had been taken from the goddess Marisha-ten as part of a test to see if they could artificially induce divine blessings by injecting demonic essence during a divine ritual. Rather to their surprise... it worked. Akemi usually fights with a blade in her right hand and nothing in her left so that she can use her blessings as needed. Notably, Akemi believes she was born with her powers, and that they are the result of an actual divine blessing. This has somewhat colored her outlook on life.
[Allows Akemi to make Elec and Light attacks at varying strengths, as well as use Healing, Status Recovery, and Revive powers. While she typically fights at range, she can also imbue her weapon with either element, making it significantly more powerful - this is different from normal elemental imbuing powers like Elec Sword. Her most powerful blessing, the "Sunlight Spear", does High Light and Elec damage and Debilitates the target if it damages them. Finally, Akemi's strength is strongly influenced by the amount of light she's recently received. She can Boost her powers by exposing a little more of her skin to sunlight (such as by rolling up her sleeves), but if deprived of sunlight for a long time, her powers fade somewhat. Of course, if she spends a day at the beach or something, she'll be significantly stronger than usual... perhaps literally glowing for a few days as her energy is supercharged.]

Personality: Innocently arrogant, sweetly naive, and overly confident. A lot of bluster with some skill to back it up, but when faced with a situation or foe that is overwhelming tends to shrink...but he always seems to find his nerve in the most dire of pinch. Genuinely cares for and likes his friends, one in particular, but seems to live with the idea that he is of a higher class than most. Annoying and endearing in a surprisingly equal measure. Possessed of a kind heart and perhaps, a slightly dim mind for things outside of his own little bubble of a world view. If only he could expand his thought to the world beyond...
Bio: Born the son of one of the very wealthiest families even among the Elite whose children are enrolled in the Tokyo Yard Private Academy, he was taught from a young age that his abilities were inborn, the result of his elite blood, and that his creative and skillful wielding of them was a result of his natural abilities...a sign that he belonged in the upper crust and that those who did not share his talent and pedigree paled in comparison. Nonetheless, he quickly came to be fond of his classmates who, like him, possessed such a plethora of cool abilities, and one in particular ended up becoming quite dear to him, even if his silly arrogance was something of a tiresome quality for most who knew him to get past.

Growing up, he showed a talent for finding creative ways to use his ability, but tended to lag behind in the classroom due to a disinterest in things that didn't catch his interest. In his own mind, his future was secure already, but what really interested him was his own skills and those of his classmates, always becoming enthusiastic at the growth of himself and his peers. Naturally, due to his upbringing he believes himself to be quite above all of them, but those who have surpassed him in the rankings since they entered high school have earned his respect and as a result, he tends to treat them as though they are...at least close to his level.

All his life he has lived with a smile, mostly carefree and quite content with the life that he has lived thus far, his education, and the people he has grown up together with. Never once has he thought to question exactly _why_ he has these powers, where they came from, or the nature of the school they have been a part of all their lives. He does not question the tests. He simply lives and enjoys his life for what it is worth. Some might call that ignorance, but he would pay little heed to that. After all, what reason has he truly been given until now to believe otherwise?

Bubblegum Bondage
At a basic level, Bubblegum Bondage is a simple textile manipulation ability. Though not exactly sure how his own ability works on a fundamental level, what he knows that his skill allows him to alter the properties of bubblegum, chewing gum, and other gummy substances in a multitude of ways. As a result of this power, he can almost always be found chewing gum and smelling distinctly of a refreshing mint...this gum acting as the base upon which he uses his ability. This includes hardening, softening, stretching, and shaping gum into weaponry, defensive items, containers, or traps. He can make gum as hard as rock or iron via touch, or soften it to a near-liquid state as necessary to avoid damage from his own creations and reduce damage of strikes made against him if the gum is between the attack and his body. He can make it less sticky if he wishes to in order to force his gummy creations into small spaces and expand/harden it to fill a hole and pick a lock (for example), or he can increase its stickiness to ridiculous levels to trap someone who steps in his gum. His abilities are limited to the amount of gum and pre-made items he can carry/chew, and his imagination for using them which is, surprisingly, quite varied.
[Manipulation of the base properties of gum and gum-like substances to harden, soften, increase or reverse inherent properties of gum such as stickiness and elasticity, and shape gum into useful items. This can be used to create weaponry, shielding, containers, and traps which maintain an extreme level of integrity based upon the amount of gum he uses and the concentration he can focus upon his manipulation of the gum.]
