( Zurine - Drinks Table ) (Tag to Aphi and Herb)
Listening with uncertainty, Zurine nevertheless felt herself relax a little when whatever invisible 'threat' her body had conjured eased. There was no reason to fear Rivener just because he was, well, so very Rivener-shaped. But the name 'Roux' made her curious. Someone like her, someone icy and cold? Maybe she would have to do some digging -- what had happened to him? Who was he? Was he like her at all? She could recall, in the past, a scare, that had to do with ice...
She folded her wings back a little, feeling an immediate twinge of concern -- which she dismissed as quickly as she could, because suddenly she was in the relatively-cooler shade of a wing. She hadn't even noticed the curious human, and now she carefully put cool fingers on the edge of the wing to peep around it to see the questioning person, her dark eyes wide. "Who is th--"
Her words were cut off on a little squeak as she noticed the unfamiliar frei bumping into her impromptu hiding spot. She'd never been around so many people at once! An uncertain little noise, a little bit like a tiny mewling hoot, escaped her. "What!" It was not so much a question or accusation as an exclamation of confusion.

[[Rivener - Drinks table]] (Tag to Petite, Herb, Brolis)
The Scorpion hadn't even had time to hear the human's response before his wing was bumped into. After the pretty young Zurine had taken to his protection happily enough, much to the Sigel's pleasure- he did enjoy being protective. Baring his sharp teeth, Riv twitched his wing back and smacked at whoever bumped him, hard enough to push them away but lightly enough not to THROW them away. He quickly re-extended his wing for Zurine to hide behind should she wish, then the narrowed ruby gaze swung around to finally find the perpetrator.
A new Raevan, again. Well, not new... Riv had a vague sense of having seen him around before, though he didn't think they'd ever spoken. He blinked and the glare was gone from his features, replaced with only faint annoyance and a look of apology.
"Sorry, I just reacted without thinking." he said, inclining his head. He attempted a friendly smile. "You should be a little more careful where you float, that could have ended a lot worse."
On looking around, though, he'd spotted someone he had been meaning to meet at this party- Melisande, her flower-garbed form idling at another table talking to Dr. Kyou. He made a mental note of her presence and promised himself to go speak to her when he could extricate himself from present company.

(( Kyou - Appetizer table (Wasa + Meli + Vivi) // Lazarus - BBQ grill ))
"Oh silly me, I forgot to introduce myself first." Kyou chuckled. But before he could, someone else called out to him first. Lifting his bright gold eyes to look in the direction of the voice, he spotted a pleasant familiar face, and one more that he adores. "Oh hello Miss Wasa, and it is my utmost pleasure to see you again Melisande." Taking the muse's hand, he plants a gentle kiss on her delicate skin - Something he is compelled to do somehow.
Turning his head to Vivi, the dark haired man smiled brightly. "I guess my identity had been blown! It is a great pleasure to meet you too." Looking around however, he noticed that guests were starting to trickle in. Right on time too! And as a host, he has a job to do. "So ladies! What can I get you? Something to drink maybe? We have pink lemonade, fresh fruit juices, a variety of teas and even home brew authentic root beer. Nothing of the likes of commercial food in this party."
The kiss was sudden, but the fire Sigel's face blushed lightly at how fun and spontaneous that was. He would kiss back if the grill didn't make a sizzle sound and distracted him, drawing his attention back to the grill. "Ah drats." He cursed softly as he flipped one of the tenderloins over. It looked a bit charred on the underside. Brows frowned slightly, he looked back at Xiu apologetically. "Sorry, a little busy now." Else he would have been happy just spending the day lazing under a tree shade with Xiu the rest of the day. However, he has responsibilities right now. "Maybe you should go mingle with the other Raevans? I'm sure there are new ones you haven't met and some you haven't met in a while?" He would hate to leave Xiu on his own since he came alone, at least... he don't see Hazeline around. But it would be selfish to keep Xiu by the grill when he is busy tending to it than paying attention to Xiu.
"Oh, you should go check out the Garden Maze too." With tong still in hand, he pointed at a podium in front of a fountain. "Kyou put in a lot of effort into it. You should find a partner and sign up."

[[Luka >> Drinks Table]] (Tag to Petite, Aphi)
"Omphf!" The Frei let out a slightly muffled sound of shock as the Sigel's wing pushed him back. It wasn't enough to send him flying, but the sensation was akin to getting hit by a pillow really hard. He looked up to see just what had hit him when he caught sight of Rivener's dark eyes giving him a sharp look before flicking to a softer one.
It wasn't until he'd looked past Rivener that he'd caught sight of the other Raevan there as well. A pale blue beauty that radiated a gentle chill. "It's fine. It's my fault for not paying attention to where I was going." His liquid sunshine orbs flickered at the large stingers on the Sigel's wings and couldn't help but chuckle at Rivener's comment. "I don't doubt that based on your wings. Sorry for frightening you as well," Luka said, giving Zurine a gentle smile.
He extended a hand to Zurine, momentarily forgetting about the Sigel that loomed above him. "I'm Luka, what is your name?" This time, his eyes flitted to Rivener as well. "You're like Zul. Large." It was an odd thing to say, but looking at the scorpion, all he could think of was the dark skinned sigel he'd talked with once before.
A slightly rocky start, but at least he'd bumped into two new Raevans.

( Zurine / Drinks Table ) ( Tag to Aphi, Herb )
From behind Rivener's wing, safely ensconced, she whuffled, and drew herself up in as good an approximation of princess-ly splendor as she could manage, lifting her head proudly and smiling just a little up at Rivener, appreciative of his protectiveness. These were good people, Zurine could tell, and as she tilted her head to look around the side of her shelter, she smiled at Luka. He was more her size, that was for sure, with pretty eyes, golden like Cesc's almost, which was an automatic positive mark in her book. "My name is Zurine," she said quietly, "and it's good to meet you, Luka." As best she could, she poked her hand from behind Riv's wing to put into Luka's extended one. She didn't know who Zul was, but because his name started with a Z, and if he was like Rivener, he must be good. Right? Right. It was a little overwhelming trying to make so many quick judgments after having spent a large part of her life tucked away safely in Phiel's house, but she was finding that it wasn't so bad, after all.

((Pasha- Appetizer table))
Melisande's cheeks colored with the lightest breath of pink as Kyou took her hand, and she had the grace to drop her eyes as he honored her with a kiss. "Thank you, sir." She murmured, her sweet voice conveying a true and genuine appreciation without the slightest raise in tone. What she was thanking him for...his compliment, the invitation to the party, or something deeper between them, went unspoken.
She didn't take any more of his time...it was obvious the Doctor would be busy at the party, especially with so many hailing him at once. Instead she shared a smile with Wasa, privately pleased that Kyou had remembered her name. Wasa was becoming an important person in her life again...she hadn't seen much of the woman since she was young, but those memories were precious to the Muse.
Even from this distance, it seemed that Rivener was already gathering a storm of tension around him. She let her gaze slide across the confrontation, knowing he could diffuse it even as he caused it. Trouble simply followed Rivener, the way wind had followed Zave. The thought of him twisted something in her, like it always did, and she turned away from the scene around the Sigel. Pasha drifted back towards the drinks that Kyou had indicated and took in the colors and shapes of all the jars. Such a lovely presentation! She was grateful for the distraction.
It was then that she met Cesc's gaze, Pasha's eyes as bright and startlingly blue as his were warm and kind. Her smile was instant, and lit the Sigel almost magically. It was rare for Melisande to truly smile, but the lovely image of him, smiling back so sweetly, was irresistable. One of the flowers in her hair unfurled...not quite a match for the others, but it was one of her own.
"Hello!" One word, but brightly spoken, and she curtsied a bit before Cesc. The Muse managed to make the gesture seem perfectly natural, instead of an affectation. "May I...may I try the ice tea?"
His gentle demeanor, the vest, and the lovely cravat...Melisande had absolutely mistaken the Frei for the tender of the drinks!

((Vivi - appetizer table, Cesc --> drinks table))
So this was the doctor -- a charming man and a gracious host, everything Vivi might have expected from him had she unleashed her imagination on him before. It pleased her deeply to know that this was the man in charge, the man responsible for Cesc and all the other Raevans. What had she expected? She had never thought of who he might really be before, only about his creations and his laboratory... It was a nice surprise.
Vivi smiled and shook her head quickly to his offer of drinks. "Oh, no, I am perfectly content, merci. I must try some of this gazpacho before anything, I think! It looks so wonderful..." And she took for herself a ladle of the cold soup, the cool ceramic of the bowl refreshing in her hands. Taking one of the shining nearby spoons, she faced Wasa with a wide smile. "I must compliment your beautiful mask, madame. Such a clever ornament!"
Meanwhile, watching Melisande smile, Cesc felt as though she had somehow magicked the air out of his lungs, as though his breathlessness powered the brightness that made its home all around her. Her gaze was so singular, so attentive, and even one of the flowers in her hair had made its hello to him. When she curtsied, Cesc immediately returned the motion with a bow of his own -- he would have done so even had she not curtsied first. There was something about her that deserved any possible attention -- she did not demand it; to demand would have been too strong for the sweet mildness of her bearing. She simply inspired it.
He opened his mouth to introduce himself, but was surprised by her request. Cesc did not realize her mistaken impression -- it was a hot day, after all, and it was a gentleman's duty to provide any comfort to such a lady. Instead, he smiled and nodded, replying in his deep Castillian voice: "My pleasure." He placed one hand on Vivi's shoulder and another on her back, alerting her silently of his departure, and floated over to the drinks table to retrieve one of the frosted, ice-filled glasses of tea.

((Ebs – Drinks // Delia – Detoured on her way to BBQ))
The smell of something burning hit the air and wafted towards Cordelia then. Closing her eyes and turning her head slight in the direction of the mouth-watering scent, the basilisk drifted away from her human. “Mmmm…later Ebby…”
“Uhhh, Cordelia?” The Brit tried to stop her, but ended up just chuckling and letting the girl go off on her own. It sort of reminded her of one of those old school cartoon characters from when she was a kid.
Spotting Aphismet, the purple haired woman gave a wave and strolled over. Pouring herself a tall glass of pink lemonade, “I see Rivener’s the center of attention as always, just the way he likes.” The woman chuckled again, her good mood more than obvious and rather catching if the other party was willing. “So how are things?”
Cordelia really should have been looking where she was floating off to, but it was like the mesquite smoke had a spell over her. It broke though when the snake smacked into something rather hard. Was it a wall? It sure didn’t seem like it. After all she was pretty positive the whole area had a wide openness to it so that lots of people could mingle and what have you without fear of knocking into things. So the only logical thing was that she’d bumped into someone.
Whether it was a person or not, just to be on the safe side, Cordelia decided to apologize. Rubbing her face, “Sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was…” After lowering her hand Delia saw it was another Raevan, one she couldn’t really recall ever meeting before. He was stony in complexion and fairly lean until you got to those giant extremities he called hands. That made her a little wary to just shoot out her hand in greeting like she normally would because honestly, the guy looked like he could ground hers into dust by just using his fingers.
In the end the smoky femme swayed from side to side, making the white dress she was wearing flutter softly, before deciding to bow like those people did in those Japanese movies she saw. “Um, right sorry, my name’s Cordelia, but Delia’s just fine. It’s nice to meet you.”

((Namini: Desserts table // Prajna: Desserts table -> sitting area))
With breezes, lightly perfumed with a delicate mix of warm vanilla and sweet summertime flowers, wafting through the bustling and growing crowd, Namini and Prajna could not restrain soft sighs of awe upon their approach. It was a brilliant day, with tender sunlight blessing everything it could reach, and the Naos, minus the usually absent David, were pleased that they had made the decision to come out to join the festivities despite their original concerns regarding the heat and lack of familiar faces.
“Oh, Prajna, look at the cute little sandwiches!” the curly haired brunette cooed as she pointed to a small pile of PBJs cut into small elephants. For today’s events, Namini had dressed more casually than was expected of her, though a small part of this was because of the recent notice given to the scars she had obtained in capturing Prajna’s fallen star soul; at the beginning of the summer, the young adult had realized that her scars had faded quite considerably over the last few years, now resembling nothing more but slightly darker patches of skin on her forearms. This newfound confidence led Namini to wear nothing but a white, tiered skirt and a revealing blue tank top that brought out her crystal blue eyes, with her piece de resistance being the simple black sandals. No sun gloves or long or quarter sleeves for her! Her growing curls were also tied back into a high ponytail with a tiny cluster of golden stars decorating top of her hair tie. Prajna, dressed in its traditional appeal, the crimson button down and checkered vest it was “born” in, glanced over the breads Namini gestured to, if only for a second, then continued to scan the merry and humming crowd, disinterested. Its piercing gaze seemed sharper than normal today, the Star particularly alert.
It was in a public place, an event hosted by the Lab 305. This meant that this place was either going to turn into a potential battleground, should Prajna have a foul encounter with one of its enemies, or a summertime playground, should the redhead find a familiar face most welcoming of its company and mischief. Prajna let out an uncharacteristic "oh!" when it spotted its greatly missed companion Luka a few yards away and was just about to float over and ask if the Satyr had gotten stronger since they last met when a dangerously familiar silhouette, one of a dark red and black Sigel, made Prajna freeze in its tracks. Yeah, there was no way in Hell Prajna was going to risk its life around the powerful Rivener just to give Luka a warm greeting. The Star would just catch the cream colored Frei later in the event. As the pondering Frei continued to glance around the crowd, it was suddenly ripped from its thoughts when Namini placed a tender but unexpected hand on its shoulder, turning Prajna’s attention to a small plate of grilled pineapple skewers, chocolate covered and sugar dusted strawberries and bananas slices and a hearty bowl of rainbow sherbet.
Prajna could not resist a cringe and a wrinkle of its porcelain nose as it pushed the plate away, Namini pouting, “I know it’s not your kind of food and that you aren’t really hungry or anything, but don’t you think it at least looks appetizing? They put a lot of effort into this event Prajna, so try and thank any of the volunteers and staff members you see, do you understand? Please.”
The fiery redhead gave the brunette a half hearted nod before motioning to a shady sitting area. The androgynous soul wanted to be in a spot where it could see and be seen, “Find Prajna later. Rest over there.”
Without another moment’s hesitation, the Star floated quickly over to the tree shaded section of the event, not even waiting for some kind of granted permission on Namini’s behalf, as the young girl soon found herself standing awkwardly alone by the dessert table. Blushing a bit, Namini picked up a skewer of golden pineapple and slipped the first chunk into her mouth, hoping that would somehow reduce how …alone she looked. A little overwhelmed by the number of people, for some reason, the girl could not seem to find herself recognizing anyone’s face…
And upon approach, Prajna found that it too was now unable to recognize the three faces in front of it. Two human men, complete strangers… and a female Frei. Prajna scrunched its nose in irritation. Just when it thought it had found a safe haven, some place undisturbed by others, it had run right into a trio of foreigners. But then again, the Star didn’t want to leave its perfect lookout spot so the redhead sent the trio a nod of acknowledgement, seemingly polite but reserved, and floated to another spot further away, hoping they wouldn’t bother the Star, especially not cause any trouble. Something about the new female though, adorned in emeralds and metallics, made the Star do a double take. Her eyes were so peculiar…

((Lillian, Tyson, Iorek - near the BBQ area))
Lillian huffed and bent down to fix her shoe, the shoe ribbon loose enough that if she left it alone for much longer the kitten heels would become hazardous. Her hand stretched out and grabbed a hold of Tyson and rooting him to the ground temporarily.
The duo was distracted long enough to miss the raevan that was heading straight for Iorek. Too busy grumbling at each other they had no clue a 'Watch Out!' was needed to prevent the collision.
Reks was a sitting duck. Just like Cordelia he was off looking at something else and it wasn't until something squishy bumped into him that he glanced away from the pretty hanging flowers. He quickly turned to catch whatever object he thought he had knocked up against. When his eyes landed on the girl who was rubbing her face it all clicked.
"Oh! Jeez! I'm sorry!". Iorek yelped with surprise. "I wasn't paying attention. Are you alright? I, uh, am not the best thing to bump into." He quickly looked her over to see if all was well. He knew he wasn't the best thing to collide thanks to his dense skin. Iorek flushed in embarrassment when he saw the wary and fear in her eyes as she looked him over. He was used to that expression by now, it had played across several faces over the years, but that face still made him feel guilty.
The gargoyle didn't even realize the *gulp* pretty girl was a raevan until his eyes cast to the ground. The flutter and whirl of her dress caught his attention and he followed the flow until he saw....No feet! His head snapped up and he shed a smile. "Oh! You're a raevan. Delia was it? It's nice to meet you as well. Um...". He trailed off for a moment and licked his lips before slowly and carefully extending his hand to her. Reks knew his hands were a menacing part of him but really he was very gentle. "I'm Iorek or uh...Reks.".

[[Aphismet / Drinks table ]] (Tag to Ebony)
Aphismet had indeed spotted Ebony and Cordelia when they came in: the human had spotted everyone that entered after himself, his eyes pinned to that entrance and watching it like a hawk. So far he'd seen a good few familiar faces, though not the one face he both dreaded and hoped to see. Ebony was one of the most pleasant to see arrive, though the man had needed to blink and look twice to truly recognize her. When she ambled over for a greeting, Aphi grinned at her warmly and leaned over to give a brief hug, one arm over Ebony's shoulders, his other arm held hostage by his drink.
"Ebony! Goodness gracious, I hardly recognized you! That hair looks just adorable on you! I don't know why, but it's such a big shock to see you change- in all the years we've known each other you had that longer hair, usually up... It's really nice!"
His gushing finished, Aphi's gaze flicked over to Rivener for a second, the chef smirking at the sight. "I'm sure he's having a grand old time already. It's his birthday soon, you know? You should wish him an early Happy Birthday when you have a chance. As for how things are, it's just the usual routine at our house. I work, Riv works, Isi and Eiry work, then we're at home relaxing. Nothing big. What about you?"

((Ebs- Drinks // Delia – Near BBQ))
Whether it was the boyish way he gulped and blushed in her presence or the delicate way he offered his hand to her, all Cordelia knew was that she was suddenly at ease. Reks was just like her, a stand off-ish and possibly frightening exterior for outsiders, but a warm, caring interior for those that knew better. Giving a big smile in return, Delia shook one of the boy’s stony fingers since well she couldn’t very well get her tiny hand around one of his for a proper handshake. It looked like how babies would grab onto the fingers of their parents. The sight of it made her giggle.
Releasing Iorek’s finger, Cordelia’s hands drifted to his chest and fiddled with the tie there. Still smiling, “I like your tie, it’s cute. You must really like superheroes. Which one is your favorite?” In lieu of this new Raevan, the smoky Frei completely forgot her previous desire to feed. That was fine though since it was warm enough that she could be sustained on that for awhile longer, besides Delia thought Reks was much more interesting. A new friend was always exciting!
Ebony was just about to take a sip of her drink when Aphi gave her a one armed hug, the likes of which surprised her then that she’d almost gotten lemonade all over herself. Thank goodness for good reflexes. At his compliment the woman blushed some and reached up higher than she’d been use to prior to rake her fingers through the short strands. “Oh well you know, new job, new look. Or so Cordelia says.” She silently added ‘new life’ to the list as it certainly felt like it. The Brit never realized before how big a burden she’d been carrying as the Bandit until she’d finally, officially retired from it. And with her father back, also retired from a life of crime, every moment in the Shade household was feeling more…homey. It was certainly an uplifting and refreshing atmosphere to be under, like they were finally free of some curse or something.
Deciding to not take anymore chances, Ebony grabbed a straw and swirled her drink before taking a quick sip. “Oh is it now? Well if I don’t talk to him before we leave today, I’ll be sure to tell Cordelia so we can send him a proper gift. Or we could all go do something again. The trip to England was certainly fun.”

[[Aphismet - Drinks table]] (Tag to Ebony)
Aphismet felt so out of the loop. New job? He grinned, pleased at least that Ebony seemed happy with whatever was happening in her life. The chef really should keep in touch with his friends better. Recalling their England trip made the white-haired man laugh, his chocolate-dark eyes sparking with remembered happiness.
"That was indeed very fun! I'm so glad and flattered still that you'd invited Riv and I. But please, next time we go on some kind of trip it has to be my treat... though it might be a while before I can afford it." He shrugged sheepishly, a little flushed. His family wasn't in any dire straights, but with saving for Isi's eventual schooling should he choose it, there was never enough for a family vacation. "I'm sure Riv will throw some kind of party for himself, so I'm sure Cordelia will be invited to that. She can wish him a happy birthday then! ...If you don't mind my asking, Ebony, you mentioned a new job to go with your new look? What would that be?" All the questions he'd ever asked her about her job had been artfully dodged before, so Aphi had no real clue what Ebony REALLY did for a living... he had the impression it had something to do with antiques: perhaps an antique or art dealer? He hoped her new job wouldn't be so oddly shrouded in mystery.

[[ Havain -- Drinks Table ]] [[ Tag to Aphi, Petite, and Herb ]]
Havain had not even been able to respond to this man's question before another creature, what seemed to be a similar breed, ran into his outstretched wing. The floating creatures began to talk more and more, turning their attention away from Havain, giving him a second to take in the aberrant nature of these floating creatures. It was definitely a sight he hadn't seen before; and it seemed they were all gathering up at this little party. He looked about to view a few other humans as well as other floating beings.
Vain slowly gathered the courage to tap on the larger floating creature's shoulder as he was turned, paying more attention to the others. It took a few tries before he actually decided to do it. But when he did, he instantly began to respond to the creature's question.
"Umm...I'm really sorry...you were completely right, it was rude of me to just spout things off the top of my head like that. I'm terribly sorry for being so rude, I truly didn't mean it. I-I'm Havain. Havain Virrea. Ummm...I'm...I'm from down the road a ways. Uhh, I'm an alchemist, see!?" the man began, very nervous to be talking and gawking at a creature as fine as these few. He shoved an arm out to shake the hand of these three beings as he spouted off his name. As he spoke, a nervous chuckle emitted. As he approached the alchemist statement, he had used his free arm to fling forth a little pouch of herbs that he had already picked before being captivated by this group. A nervous smile was upon Vain's face the entire speech.

[[Rivener - Drinks Table]] (tag to Petite, Brolis, Herb)
That could have gone a lot differently, had this new Raevan not possessed such an even temper, Riv knew. After Riv's shove and rebuke, a lot of Raevans might have been offended despite the Scorpion's apology, but the golden-eyed young Frei- Luka, he said his name was- apologized quite politely and moved on, earning himself quite a few approving notches in Rivener's mind. The Sigel grinned at the mention of Zul's name, and moved his wing slightly so Zurine could take the offered handshake. Her demeanor and introduction was just adorable, and Riv chuckled as he waited for his turn to shake hands.
When he did, he inclined his head and smiled, letting his wing down slightly, keeping it only between the two Frei and the odd human from earlier. "I'm pleased to meet you as well, Luka. I'm Rivener. I know Zul very well, he and I are very close. As for being large, it's only because I'm older. When you are a few years older you'll become larger, like Zul and I. ...Zurine, if the sunlight bothers you, why don't you take these?" He turned to the young lady and pulled his sunglasses off, proffering them to her. "Sometimes I think it makes me feel less hot if I don't see how bright the sun is."
The human interjected then, finally, and Rivener turned to give the man a suspicion-filled glare, pinning the alchemist to the floor with his gaze and turning him over, assessing, judging... He was no threat, he was quite nervous (as well he should be, Riv thought, resisting the urge to loom threateningly), and he seemed innocent enough if a little strange. Riv's stance relaxed a tad and he lowered his wing half-way, letting Zurine and Luka peer at the human- Havain- and deside for themselves if they wanted to meet him. "Hrmph," Riv began, sounding none too convinced. But he did offer a hand, albeit a tad reluctantly. "Rivener. Pleased to meet you, Havain. Did you just wander in? This party is hosted by LAb 305, so you're going to spot quite a few of my kin here. Try not to be rude to them. But if you ask politely, I'm sure they'll all be delighted to answer your questions."
