He started laughing, stepping back and raising his arms to try and ward her off. "Okay, okay, we both look like we've been stalkin from the bushes!" he said finally. "Stop it, it tickles!" Then he grinned at her. "I don't care what I look like, so I'll go in, grab a couple of meals, and we'll have a picnic outside, whaddaya say?"

He caught her hands, pulling them up and moving closer, grinning down at her. "You wanna get a blanket or somethin' we can sit on while I get it? Just tell me what you want to eat."

"To sit on?" he said, bringing her arms down, but not letting go just yet. "Amphiiii," he said. "You're doin' it again," he whispered, leaning down so he was closer. "Yeah, a blanket. So we can sit on the grass. Where ANYONE could walk past," he added as a warning. Food. Think food--oh, yeah, there we go, he thought.

"Oh, or I could order us a pizza! You eat meat?" he asked, images of pizzas dancing in his head, sufficiently distracting him. "Or should I get you a cheese lovers or somethin?"

He was evil, and he really should be hit for this, Roch thought as he leaned forward, his lips next to her ear. "An... if y'want... I'll play for you," he offered almost silently. He was the other man, jackdammit, he needed to remember that. Like... the metaphorical pool boil. But, another part of his mind whispered, she was a mermaid, she should prefer pools--

He should be slapped, he thought as he pulled away from her, turned to take a deep breath, and dug out his phone to order their lunch.

Because not many people passed by here at all, and she was looking SERIOUSLY cute-- he stopped himself. "Um, yeah, but we shouldn't stay on the stage, I'm not quite finished taking off the less stable boards," he said, only to speak into the phone.

"Yo! You recognized my voice already?" he asked, laughing. "Yeah, can I get my usual? Yeah, I'll meet him at the front gate. I know how paranoid he is--alright. Yeah, usual payment method. Thanks!" he said, sounding perfectly calm as if he hadn't been unwittingly seducing a poor, innocent mermaid just seconds before. "If you wanna stay here I can bring the pizza back," he told her.

He snorted--then he burst into laughter. "Amphi, you have GOT to get some sort of GPS on your phone, ghoul," he told her, not nearly as worried about her getting lost as she seemed to be--in fact he seemed to think it was hysterical. "But I gotta go to the front gate, otherwise we'll NEVER get our pizza, cuz me and Charlie traumatized the guy a few times," he explained. "He doesn't like stepping on Amity grounds--can't really blame him after that net incident... or the bananas," he said thoughtfully.

"C'mere," he said, grabbing her hand and tugging her closer so he could heal her nose before it bruised. "This way's the gate," he added, turning her around completely and leading her towards the campus. "GPS is how y'find stuff. It's got magical bearings or somethin, ain't sure how it works, honestly, but it shows you where you're at and which way y'need to go to get where you're goin," he explained, his fingers lacing through hers again.

He glanced at her, grinning. "Y'need to watch where you're steppin, too, blue eyes," he teased. "Otherwise I'm gonna wind up covered with booberry tea on a regular basis."

The punk boil turned BRIGHT RED. Seriously. Even his EARS were red as that statement sank in. That was NOT what he was expecting--he even almost tripped, himself, not watching where he was going. "Oh," he said, stupidly. "Um... I kinda know why you ran away, now," he admitted.

But he didn't let go of her hand. "Maybe um... when things aren't so confusin," he said slowly, "an' you've figured out the whole... um... situation." Then he stopped, shrugging. "Well, maybe."
