Miguel looked towards Shikyo then back at Asta. Why would Shikyo be jealous. They were friends. "I don't think she would." He commented not fully understanding her words. He then took her hand and pulled her to the dance floor as a slow song started. Once his hands were around her waist he started to comment. "So do you have any suggestions to make practice better?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Karon smiled. She wasn't totally acting like a teacher. She really thought it was good to get to know each other. "It must be nice there." He commented thinking of what it looked like in the mountains. He had gone to the French Alps before. "You're really pretty for a normal elf." He commented to her blushing again.
Aurora Solindo | Outfit
Grinning when her hint was pick up, she nodded, telling him, "Yes, I would." She'd almost been worried that either he wouldn't be interested in a dance, or she would need to flat out ask him, as her earliest memory of the man was that he was rather shy. Still, she was in a good mood now, and she turned just enough to survey the dance floor. It wasn't too crowded, which was nice since she wasn't a fan of being bumped into by random strangers. The current song was nice, as she could easily pick up the beat and wouldn't need to worry about her movements. "And you would be an excellent teacher to test the theory with."
Lorina Jinn | Outfit
Very happy with the idea of spending more time with Ciel, she flashed a grin, though her gaze moved to the dance floor for several seconds before returning to the girl. Still smiling, she told her, "Good~ Let's practice then." She lowered one hand to take one Ciel's as she told her briskly, "Up, up!" Remembering that the shapeshifter may be embaressed by the attention usually brought on by such a loud tone, she spoke her next words in a slightly lower voice, though her tone remained as energetic as ever. "You need to dance at least once tonight. Well, with me, at least." She moved away from the table, attempting to pull her along and towards where a few students were currently dancing. Lorina only knew a couple of those on the floor, though at the moment she didn't feel the need to call out to them. Instead, she started to sway slightly to the music, turning enough to face Ciel as she evaluated her reaction.
Bellatrix Solindo | Outfit
Nodding at his words, she agreed lightly, remembering how her home looked from her early memories. "It was." She wasn't sure at all of what it might appear as now, but after meeting three children from her home, she'd been told of another attack. The village was always targeted by bandits, but it seemed to bounce back each time, making her more positive about the matter. Hearing his second comment, she looked to him in mild surprise. "Thank you. And you very sweet for a dark elf." Those she'd met always seemed stoic, yet she'd been given to comlpliments by this boy tonight. Granted, he could be flirting, but she didn't think of it so much in that way.
Looking a bit puzzled at the imp's mention of practice, the expression only deepened as one hand was taken. She stood as commanded, looking almost relieved at the explanation she received. The lower voice made her relax a bit, though she couldn't be mad at Lorina for being loud; it seemed it was just a part of her personality, and that was something the younger girl couldn't blame her for. After all, she was a bit awkward and shy by nature, and she would want Lorina to accept that about her in the same way. Ciel followed along to the dance floor, not at all wanting to seem like a drag. Accepting her fate on the dance floor, the teen listens to the music and mimics the movements of the students around her; mimicry was something she was good at, whether it be voices or behaviours, and she tapped this skill now in an attempt to not look like a complete loser.
While he was still considerably shy, he had also matured over the years; he knew how to overcome it and how to make himself relax in otherwise stressful situations for one of his temperament. Taking note of her grin, he was encouraged by her affirmation. He followed her gaze to the dance floor, noting it wasn't too crowded, before returning his attention to Aurora. He smiled faintly in response, holding out a hand to gesture towards the dance floor. "In that case, would you like to dance?" there was a small pause in his words, as if he was unsure of himself, but he managed to finish the invitation without too big of a break. No, he was doing well tonight, and he didn't want to spiral back to his pathetically shy self. Even though he was there as a chaperone, he would be fine dancing for a bit; there were multiple other teachers present, and he could keep a close eye on the students on the dance floor this way.
It seemed that this boy was oblivious, and while it was a pity, the blonde chose not to carry on with that line of thought. As they stepped away from the tables and into the open area for dancing, she finally took notice to the tempo of the song. Slow. There were now hands around her waist, and while normally she wasn't one to abide by such touching without permission, she had been to enough dances to know that this was the appropriate behaviour for a song like this. Her arms moved around his neck as she had seen girls do at other dances, she was an excellent note taker, and she swayed appropriately with the music. His question made her pause, and she thought about it carefully. "I think scrimmages most helpful." while drills and such were all well and good, it was only through actual play that the team could learn to truly work as one. Asta's preferred position was center midfield, her enhanced endurance made the running involved a minor issue, and she could play both sides of the field this way. "I would prefer later practices, but suppose that would make it inconvenience for others." even if she was a daywalker, she wasn't fond of the sun.
User Image Simon smirked then his smirking progressed into a chuckle, "That must be fascinating, being able to read a persons inner machinations..." he said thinking of how useful such an ability would be, "...but then again, I suppose if one had no control over such a power it could prove to be irrtating and/or abrasive to any and all parties involved, eh?" he smiled, she probably couldn't help the mind reading thing, not yet anyway, and besides, he had nothing to hide, "Oh? Alright then." he said, mock resignment in his voice, he took the coin out again, grabbing it between his thumb and forefinger, and he swept his hand across supposedly grabbing the coin, with a blow on his right hand he opened it, the coin wasn't there, "Now, you thought the coin had gone into my hand, didn't you? Whilst in reality..." he put his left hand behind her ear again, pulling it back to show the coin between his thumb and forefinger, "It never left this hand, the whole blowing on the right hand was all a distraction from the real trick." he smiled slightly and leant back into the chair.
Miguel listened to the girls every word. He wanted to make it work out for the team as best he could. "Well it wouldn't be too hard to push practices back a bit and it would allow for more activities with different clubs. Most of the students live on campus or in Capital City and the richer once have teleporters." He commented and pointed out a few ways that he could push it back. "But why would you want to push it back?" He asked trying to figure out if there was a reasoning for it.
Koran's cheeks stayed pink as he listened to the woman's words. It was clear that she had not visited her home in a long while and was pulling out the image from memory with the was tense. Then she turned to the subject of him being a dark elf. "There are a lot of stereotypes about dark elves. Saying were all mean and cruel, but it's really just what the other elves portray us to increase their own glory. We are no just as any other elf fraction." He answered her with a very scholarly answer.
Listening to a proposed solution, she nodded as it seemed that there wasn't a huge fuss associated. "I live in city, and would not be too bad. Just matter of staying around school longer." it wasn't as if there was a bus from the school to the city anyway. She lived and worked in the city, and while she did work nights, it wouldn't be a difficult thing to adjust her shifts around practice. His question caused her to c**k a brow, a wry smile appearing on her features. "I am what you call vampire." she flashed a toothy smile, her fangs glinting in the lowered light. They were extended as it had been quite a while since she had seen fancy alien Danny, and as such had been a long while since she had drank blood. She would journey far off campus to feed, or maybe just ask her co-worker; he was always poking fun at her about it so maybe he would follow up on his 'offers'. "I am special 'daywalker' type, but I still do not like sun." she knew she was not the only one of her kind to withstand day, and while she wasn't sure how others pulled it off, she generally chalked it up to having her own contract.
Shikyo had went to go back to her seat since Miguel seemed to only needed to talk with someone. She didn't really care if he was talking to another girl, he probably had lots of friends that were girls but then she saw them starting to dance. She wasn't the type to show that she was jealous but she did the thing she was best at doing, dissapearing. She simply got up from her seat and walked by many of the tables until she was at the corner of the room where it was probably the darkest spot and sat down in the seat with her head a bit low so her bangs were covering her eyes.
Aurora Solindo | Outfit
Seeing his hand, she placed her own on top of his as she told him through another smile, "Yes." After taking the few steps needed to the dance floor, she turned to face him, lightly placing her arms around his neck. It was something she found easier to do in heels, and she considered the merits of wearing such types of shoes more often; of course, she wouldn't stick with the more intensive types like stilettos, but she rather liked wedges. After another moment, she gave her attention back to the present. Swaying with the music, she gauged her partner's abilities, finding that he wasn't near as stiff as she'd expected. The fact made her expression lighten and she asked, "Have you ever taken lessons?"
Rebecca Lawrence | Outfit
Surprised by how understandable he was in regards to her abilities, Rebecca nodded. "It is." It was fascinating to a point, then it grew to be irritating, just as Simon had described it. So far, she thought she was doing rather well, with only one slip while surrounded by several students. Perhaps it was the topics they were discussing, which helped distract her from other's thoughts. Smiling at his resignment, she didn't comment, and instead watched as he performed the trick again. She'd tried to watch closely, but she was still completely unawares of how he'd managed the trick. Listening to his explanation, she rose a brow as she told him, "I suppose that's why it's called a trick, then." She laughed quietly, wondering just how long it would take to perfect such a thing.
Lorina Jinn | Outfit
Pleased by how well Ciel was doing, she was surprised to remember her saying that she hadn't been to a party before. Perhaps she'd been to dances before, and someone had managed to get her onto the floor as well. In Lorina's opinion, she was dancing just like any other teenager, which set aside her thoughts of having to get her shy friend used to moving so much. When the music slowed to another song, she flashed a smile, glancing about to see most of the other students pair up. For a moment, she considered leaving the floor for the song, but an idea occured to her before she took a step away. "Couples practice~ After all, parties have guys." Taking Ciel's hands, she rose one up to around their shoulders while keeping the other at level with their waists. This was the best way she could continue with their 'practice' but not have to interfere with personal space. Looking up, she was just able to see Richard giving her a curious look. After sticking her toungue out at him, she flashed him an innocent smile, and she was able to see him chuckle, then return his attention back to his friends.
Bellatrix Solindo | Outfit
Listening to Koran's explanation, she nodded, not at all surprised to hear that most of what she assumed was probably wrong. She worked among several different races, and after years of learning about other magical creatures, she knew that one should never simply assume anything. "I'm sure." She considered other fractions, recalling much of the good and bad of each, including her own. It was an interesting thing to consider, and she wondered how much work it would take get more light and dark elves to mingle.
User Image "That it is." he said, smiling more, she still looked as though she hadn't grasped what he'd done with regards to it, "Humans love what they don't understand, thats why Mythology and supernatural phenomena fascinate them so, but I find the simple things to be so much more entertaining, to see someone smile because of something I did, whether it be simple or amzingly complex brings a slight joy to me... oh bugger, I'm rambling again..." Simon laughed, he'd been on send all this time Rebecca was probably bored stiff by his non-sense, "So, what interests you? What brings you joy?" he asked, she seemed like a fascinating woman, but all the same, he felt she wasn't as enthralled by their conversation as he had been.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 23, 2012 2:07 pm
When she realized no one was staring or laughing at her, she relaxed a bit. Dancing and being surrounded by other people was still out of her comfort zone, but she supposed that was the only way to achieve her ultimate goal of being like a normal teenager. Well, as normal as a shapeshifter in a school full of magic could be, anyway. At the news of more practice, she didn't object as Lorina moved her hands into the proper position, a faint smile on her features. She nodded to show she understood, her expression turning curious at the sticking out of the tongue and the smile, though she tilted her head just enough to catch Richard from the corner of her eye; this would certainly explain it, and a small feeling of guilt snaked through her mind. Maybe Lorina would want to slow dance with Richard? She had been under the impression that they were just friends, but since she didn't know much about teenage relations, she couldn't say she was totally sure. Shaking the thought from her mind, there were sure to be a couple more slower songs anyway, she turned her attention to Lorina. "I could turn into a guy if you'd like." it was an attempt at a joke, though it would be a fairly simple matter.
Moving to the dance floor as she did, he took notice for the first time to the tempo of the song. He had never actually slow danced himself, but he at least understood the mechanics of such. With her arms around his neck, his moved around her waist gently. He was enjoying this more than he had thought, and he swayed in time to the music. Her expression brightened suddenly, and he realized why at her question; she had probably expecting him to be stiff. He smiled faintly, though the expression didn't meet his eyes. "When I was mistakenly enrolled in a human high school years ago, there was a student who would drag me to a club she had formed about something called swing dancing. So I suppose you could say that." it hadn't been hard to get him to do things, it had only been fairly recently that he started standing up for himself, but he hadn't minded it. There was a group that organized something like a club night twice a month in Capital City, and he was usually in attendance.
Watching his sister be pulled to the dance floor, the man smiled; it seemed she had made at least one friend, and this was actually quite a relief. She was so shy, though it wasn't really her fault. While watching his sister, movement caught his eye, and he turned his head to watch a girl move to sit in the darkest corner of the room. The man frowned, slipping quietly towards her. He stood a few feet away, back to the wall and hands in his pockets. "Is something wrong?" he inquired, looking her over a moment before his eyes drifted back out to the room. "Dark corners aren't an appropriate place for pretty girls at a party, after all." he smiled faintly, his eyes drifting back to the dark-haired girl as he finished. As a chaperone, it was his job to keep an eye on the students, and sitting in dark corners with one's head down was certainly unusual behaviour.
Aurelle had seated in an empty table. A lot of creatures had already entered and started dancing or chatting with each other. Aurelle was feeling embarassed that her friends had not arrived yet. The music now playing was more soothing. The previous song was loud and to her, it didn't seem like music but more of shouting. Her bangs fell were now in the way and she pushed it away and slipped the long pale strands behind her ear. Aurelle soon decided to get a drink.
don’t you let go
take a look around, you are not alone
if you’d only stop and close your eyes
find the answers,
you’d find the answers
when you feel like the world is falling in
and you can’t seem to find the way back in
don’t cry
just hear these words and remember again
Aurora Solindo | Outfit
Raising a brow, she wondered how one could be mistakenly enrolled in a human school. However, she didn't ask, though it was sure to be an interesting story for another time. Instead, she responded to the idea of him belonging to a club devoted to swing dancing. "Ah, that makes sense." Considering the necessity of smooth and fluid transactions between movements, she could understand very well where any stiffness would have been gotten rid of quickly. "I love swing dancing." While she'd been taught several types of dance, that particular style was one of her favorites, and she had always thought that it suited her energetic attitude rather well. Of course, it wasn't a style usually seen at her home's court, so she hardly ever had the opportunity to use such skills. "Do you know many other styles?"
Rebecca Lawrence | Outfit
As Simon continued to speak, she nodded in agreement. After learning much as a half human herself, she was well aware of how they became interested in things. That, and reading minds certaintly helped her see such. When he stopped, correcting himself and calling it rambling, she shook her head, saying nicely, "No, it's fine." She was prepared to let him continue speaking again, but instead he asked of her and she surprised herself by actually considering the answer. "Animals." she said after a moment, then paused again before elaborating. "I enjoy working with them. Their thoughts are very simple and I guess it's a nice change." She smiled faintly, recalling how often she volunteered at a shelter in the Capital City.
Lorina Jinn | Outfit
Laughing at Ciel's words, she kept moving with the music, her response full of amusement. "I'd almost forgotten, but no. Elsewise your dress won't look as lovely." She didn't think her clothing would shift with her, but Lorina was no expert on the race. Instead, she kept moving, glad once again that she'd chosen to wear shoes without heels. She enjoyed dancing, so it was a quick lesson learned when she'd made her feet incrediably sore after one of her first parties. After a few moments, she spoke up again with curiousity. "Ciel, how many things can you shift to?" She'd met werewolves and nagas, but they both only had one other form. As a shapeshifter, however, she wondered if there was he chance to become anything, which would be pretty cool to her.
Richard Lawrence | Outfit
For several minutes, Richard had had the opportunity to catch up with his friends, many of whom he hadn't been able to see since the summer. Now, though, they'd chosen to dance with their dates, and he'd politely excused himself to spare them all of any awkward moments. With Lorina busy with Ciel, which he found to be an amusing thing, he decided to walk a few steps towards the tables. He was rather glad for the excuse not to dance, as it was something he never did seem to find enjoyable. Once away from the main traffic of people, he glanced about for a place to sit. After spotting a table that was empty save for one girl with white hair, he made his way towards it, speaking lightly once he was closer. "Hey. You don't like to dance either?"
"Just leave me alone..." Shikyo said in a clear warning tone that meant if he prodded then she might snap at him. When she went off somewhere on her own she wanted to stay alone until she felt it was right for her to move back out. The guy didn't even know her, why would he want to know her business? "It's none of your business anyway." She said in a monotone that had no emotion to it since it was none of his business as it had nothing to do with him.
User Image Simon smiled, "Animals, eh?" he thought, as she elaborated it became clearer, "Ah, you admire the simple things in life then do you?" he asked, she was proving to be fascinating indeed, he heard music going and some students had taken up the dance floor, he smiled, then stood up, walked over to Rebecca's chair, extended one hand to her and he asked, "Care to dance?" he was no pro dancer himself, but he thought that perhaps they could continue the conversation on the dance floor.
Smiling at the other girl's comment about her dress, the girl shook her head. "If I were to shift, I could just leave it inside and include clothing in the shift so I wasn't naked." she made it sound simpler than it was, though should she choose to shift, she could leave the dress to float within her outer form. She wasn't trying to get Lorina to agree so much as she was trying to clarify the ability. Continuing to dance in the short silence, she bit her lip at the other girl's question. "In theory, I can shift into pretty much anything. Bigger things take more practice, and I'm not very good at anything bigger than a small elephant, but my brother is teaching me." there weren't many limits to her ability besides certain size restrictions; she'd never be able to shift into a full sized t-rex, but that was because she was so small. "This is my preferred form, and females come easier to me, but I can technically be anyone or anything." she didn't mind the questions, they were only natural, and so she answered to the best of her ability. "There are five other ones that I've basically perfected, though. My parents say that a good shapeshifter doesn't limit themselves to one good form." she liked humans and birds best, though her brother's preferences geared more towards the fiercer sort of animals.
Noting the raised brow, the teacher was silently relieved when she didn't ask questions. It was not an entirely pleasant story, and definitely not suitable for the moment. He smiled at her proclaimed love of swing dancing, taking this news well; even though he hadn't started for the best of reasons, it was still something that he enjoyed. Adney liked to tease him whenever he mentioned the club, but it was all in good fun, and he had been reassured by the swimming teacher that the teasing was only a sign of affection. "I actually come from a 'noble' " he raised a hand from her waist to form air quotes, "family, so I know how to waltz as well as other fancy dances that have been popular in the past hundred years." he didn't sound as pleased about such, but his faint smile stayed in place. He liked swing dancing, but the more classic styles were less enjoyable in his opinion.
His expression didn't waver at the girl's unpleasant behaviour, and the man shrugged. "As a teacher, I like to think the happiness of my students is my business." he responded, hands in his pockets. "Maybe you'd feel better about talking if I were younger?" the change was smooth, and one would have to take a second look to notice that he'd lost a bit of height and maturity in his features. "Or maybe it's because I'm a guy. I could be a lady instead." his features became feminine, his body shape becoming curvier with the shift. He was being a bit silly, though this was mostly to try and get a response from the student. "Or I could just leave you alone, as you originally wished." his shift back to his original form was seamless, and he still stood with his hands in his pockets. "However, as someone who was a total loser in high school, I do not recommend the corner. It is easily the most boring spot in the room."
