"Don't see the harm in eating," Jerry offered, "Um... do you need anything else?" He wanted to help, but was feeling increasingly awkward.

Rin gave Sasha a strange look, there was that strange aggression again. She decided not to challenge it, instead heading over to grab the sandwich bags someone thought to re-package and turn into their room.

She frowned at the sandwiches one with the crust removed and the other unscathed and offered Sasha both to choose from. She wasn't sure about Sasha's stance on crust anymore.

"Surprisingly no one stole the aero."

With a rough exhale, Sasha reached for the crust-free sandwich.

"I.. Has Rep stopped to see you yet?"

This was directed at Jerry. She fell silent after taking a huge bite of the sandwich, slowly chewing.

Jerry snorted, his smile wobbling slightly at the edges, "No. And I'm not holding my breath."

Rin then fished a juice box and the aero back out to offer Sasha before going over to hand Jerry the sandwich still in the other bag with a bag of extra crust, a juice box, and an aero too, "Here you go Jerry."

She finally sat down to enjoy the final remaining sandwich, the crusted sandwich Sasha rejected.

Sasha shifted in the bed as she swallowed, taking another bite. It too, was chewed and swallowed before she spoke.

"He will." She spoke with conviction. "If he doesn't?"

Sasha ripped off another hunk of the sandwich, viciously chewing. She was already feeling marginally better, the dull ache in her shoulder dimming.

Is it bad?

<It certainly wasn't good, my dove. You're lucky that she did not take off your arm, sweetling.> Nona's voice was mild, tinged with worry.

I need to get out of this room, Nona.

<You'll stay where you are, Sasha. You need this time to heal.>

Sasha grunted and finished off her sandwich, pushing her juicebox towards Jerry as a silent indication that she'd appreciate his help with it.

"Ah, thanks," Jerry tried to soften his expression to Rin, but with the topic of Rep brought it it was difficult to keep the smile on his face. He accepted the juicebox to pop the straw free of it's wrapper and shove it in it's little foil hole. "I can't promise I won't let him speak to Roar when I see him next. Weapon lock-down or not." He growled, handing the drink over once it was properly skewered.

He left the fact he had been half hoping Simon would have taken care of the overall problem in a much more finite way unsaid.

Rin wasn't fond of this discussion. She didn't understand how it drifted that way anyway. Something was up, Sasha is why they were here at all. It wasn't her place, her teeth were starting to hurt though.

She finished off her sandwich rather quickly and attempted to stare Sasha squarely in the eye. She wasn't stupid. She just didn't want to address it. It was grating on her every nerve now. Just what was going on in her mind right now?

"Sasha?" she attempted to take her hand despite what reaction Jerry might make and gave Sasha's hand a tight squeeze, "What's wrong with you? And I don't mean that duel. I mean, right. Now."

Sasha smiled at Jerry, an honestly genuine expression. There was something about that little bit of unspoken communication that eased Sasha's tension for a brief moment - until Rin took her hand and gave a firm squeeze.

She took a long, thoughtful draw on the juicebox as she stared down at the hand that Rin clasped tightly - not quite painfully tight, but tight enough to get a point across - before lifting her gaze to meet Rin's. There was a split second before Sasha was squeezing Rin's hand in return.

She wasn't gentle about it.

Pain strummed up her arm to her shoulder, but she blithely ignored it.

"There isn't anything wrong, Rin." Her voice was low, an almost whisper. "I'm just," she hissed softly, an eye twitching as pain arced through her shoulder, throbbing and insistent, "fine."

Push and shove. Such tactics might have worked on a sane, reasonable Sasha.

They weren't working now.

"A lot has changed."

Jerry glanced between the two women, brows knit as he wondered if there was something he had missed. As far as he could tell, Sasha had just done what they all did sometimes- caught up in the moment. Distracted by everything going on... it was no wonder she had lost track of her Fear Shield. As for right now, she just seemed tired and irritated. He wasn't sure what Rin was getting at.

He grimaced, "Of course she's not fine. None of us are. But no point in not just moving forward, right? Regardless of.. of asses in the way," He snarled, sitting back to pick at his sandwich.

Rin didn't relinquish the grip, rather tightened further in reply. Her eyes narrowed challengingly. What was her game?

"Okay then, what changed?" her words were hissed through teeth gritted into a false smile a smile she turned on Jerry. Only fleetingly breaking eye contact with Sasha to do so, "I'm talking about now, not then or asses."

She quickly spun her gaze back at Sasha, one that turned from calm and reasonable for Jerry to intense and aggressive just for Sasha.

Submissive indifference seemed to make whatever was up worse so ******** letting this go.

Sasha finished off the juicebox and set it aside, reaching for Jerry's hand. She gave his fingers a gentle squeeze before sliding her gaze over to the hand that Rin clutched. Her grip was tight, but the most uncomfortable part of the situation was that Rin was pressing for answers that Sasha simply... didn't want to talk about.

She wouldn't be forced. She wasn't ready.

Releasing her grip on Rin's hand, Sasha merely rolled her head back on to the pillow.

"I'm tired now."

Jerry bit his lip, giving her hand a gentle squeeze in response before pulling himself to his feet. "We.... we'll let you rest a while. You'll be good as new in no time. C'mon, Rin."
PostPosted: Wed Jul 04, 2012 11:06 am

Rin frowned grimly as Sasha pulled away, at least this meant she was acting less aggressive. For now. Rin decided to let it go, "Don't forget your gift," she gestured at the bag within' Sasha's reach.

"Coming Jerry," she called back as she followed after him.

Sasha sat in sullen silence as she watched them leave. She was still for a long, long time. Idly picking at the bandage on her shoulder, she stared off into space with a broodingly stoic expression on her face. The wound on her shoulder was a bothersome ache, more annoying than anything.

Her expression turned pensive.

Was this who she really was? Had this person always existed, kept at bay by her father's controlling ways? Had this dark, fathomless anger always been a part of her but she'd been too blind to see it? She was an atomic bomb; her fuse had been lit by Rep and his actions, exploding in a wild burst of rage and fury.

It had felt too comfortable. She'd fought with herself until she finally had control over her actions - enough control that she'd allowed Rep to walk away, though if he'd pressed further Sasha wasn't so sure she wouldn't have decapitated Rep right there in the training yard. She'd replayed the scene again and again in her mind, a constant reel of action that had set in motion the events that had landed her here in the infirmary. Sasha knew she'd been careless. She knew she'd pushed too far, been too reckless about fighting Rin.

She hadn't cared. The hot, burning need to see that same vulnerability, to feel that rush of utter control - foolish urges when face to face with a peer who was not limited by a bracelet, a peer who was obviously far stronger than Sasha was.

Her mouth wrenched in a snarl. She shoved the blankets down to the foot of the bed before swinging her feet over the side. The floor was cool against her bare feet.

Sasha ripped the bandage off of her shoulder. The tape tore at her skin, causing a low hiss to rasp out from behind her clenched teeth. Glancing down at the wound, Sasha tensed. It wasn't pretty, but it was healing very rapidly. Already a scab knit together the puckered, pink edges of the wound. It would scar.

Good.

A constant reminder not to be so reckless in the future. There would have to be another way to deal with this angry frustration, this black rage that burned in her chest. This restlessness, this unadulterated frustration - she needed some other outlet. A different way to cope.

The ache in her shoulder intensified, throbbing slightly as she pushed up from the bed. Focusing on that helped divert her attention.

Her gaze slid to the gift bag that Rin had left. She reached for it, pulling out a little stuffed bird. It was adorable, really. Sasha slid her thumb against the birds little beak, one of its glass eyes. It made a little chirping sound.

Sasha sighed and rocked back onto the bed. Maybe there really was something wrong with her. Maybe she was broken. There was honestly only one person on the island that she trusted enough to talk to - that she looked up to for guidance.

She could only hope the doctor had some insight.
