At the shout from the healer, F'nell snagged his bag and then jogged over to her. He tried to be prepared during occasions like gathers, and so, he did have numbweed on him, as well as a water skin. He pulled them out, and held the objects out for the healer. "Here."

He couldn't refuse a dragon in distress, even if it was looking like he might need it later. There would be ways for him to get more, and right now, helping the Benden Rider was more important.

When the demonstration had turned into a seething nest of revolution and rage, Jordan had instinctively looked for the nearest escape route or elevated location, to get out of the way of the stampede that was sure to be coming, either for the dragons or for the crazy-man on stage. Since Riarna had been with him, and looking primarily shocked, Jordan had grabbed her by the arm and begun dragging her toward the dragons. There was no more Benden and he ceratinly trusted the source that told him. Since that was true, they were going to need a ride somewhere, even if the most likely rides were going to be going to a different Weyr in the same sort of trouble. Anywhere was better than left stranded near a Weyr that had already been taken over by the people he-- and, he assumed, Riarna-- would not be happy siding with. He could be a jerk, not a-- well. Not that bad of a guy.

Riarna had seemed to sense his direction and made things easy, sticking close and following him until she saw a rider offering rides back to Malvren and hailed him. Two seats and two of them. That had been easy enough. Malvren, after all, was as good a place as any to which to retreat.

Jordan blinked away the black of between and stared down at a lake far below them before the rider who had taken them had suddenly warned of a location change and taken them back into the disorienting darkness.

By the time they came out of between the second time, so close on the heels of the first, Jordan felt a bit of stomach sickness. He didn't dare turn around to see if Riarna had felt the same and closed his eyes in an attempt to fight it back. When he opened his eyes again, the Brown was landing near a small group of other dragons and their passengers.

Jordan got down first when the rider offered to get them down, smiling in a manner that was a bit too friendly at F'nell when he took the rider's hand. "Thank you."

He moved aside so Riarna could be helped down as well, and nodded at F'nell's offer. "We'll be off to the side, out of the way. If you're going to do any fighting, let us know. I'd be willing to help."

"As would I," Riarna offered, looking as if she was mostly over her shock and determined to give hell to those who had caused it in her. Jordan, privately, approved of the attitude.

The rider had gone off to address his fellows and get the scope of the fight that lay ahead of them, which left Jordan and Riarna to make their way over to other refugees and non-rider passengers standing off to the side.

Microth gave the Crimson that approached a grateful, if soft, croon. Thank you, sister. I am Microth and mine is Dezima. We are...or were...from Benden. The green dipped her head, eyes dull in color.

Dezima took the hand offered to her, trying to hide as much of her previous weeping as possible. The tear streaks down her cheeks were hard to hide unfortunately. "Thank you." She said roughly, closing her eyes for a moment. "I sincerely hope they do as well." The greenrider murmured, reaching out to stroke Microth's muzzle.

Could they fight? It terrified her just to think about it! But there was an even stronger fear at this Weyr suffering the same fate as Benden.

Thankfully she was saved from actually responding - or figuring out what her response would have been - by someone bolting up to her and Microth. Dezima barely heard anything beyond 'Benden' come from the girl and she hugged her. "I'm...so glad..that someone else made it out." She got out, taking in deep breaths and working to stay calm.

You should do as she says. Microth crooned, nudging her rider from behind until she sat, huddling with the cowl around her shoulders. The green herself inched closer to offer her own warmth.

We will fight. The gentle green said after a moment to Moriath, having had a quiet talk with her rider. Place us where you feel we would do best.

"Thank you." Dezima spoke to Cai. "And I'm Dezima of green Microth." Her gaze turned to her dragon, a shuddering breath escaping as she looked at the injuries her dragon had suffered. And she wasn't even prepared enough to take care of her own dragons injuries! A choked sound escaped and the greenrider scrambled to her feet, running a hand along Microth's legs.

"I must tend to Microth first. Then myself. Is there numbweed in that pack?" She glanced at Cai and F'nell.

Cai tensed up, her muscled locking tight as Dezima pulled her into a hug. She choked on her own tongue and quickly extracted herself, feeling physically violated. The woman hadn't meant to make her feel so and she knew it...but she didn't like hugging. Didn't like much physical contact at all if she could avoid it. At least she'd sat down. That was a move in the right direction. She took a deep breath, now needing to steady her own nerves. "Alright Dezima. I'll do what I can for you and Microth."

She turned to F'nell sparing a nod of approval to the Brownrider. "Those will do for now." Too bad no one had redwort oil for her own hands but if she used the trailing edge of her sleeve she should be able to avoid numbing her own hand too quickly.

"Dezima sit back down! I know you're concerned about Microth but you're in no fit shape yourself! You'll do her more harm stressing yourself out than you will good. If you trust no one else here at least trust me." She handed the waterskin to Dezima. "Have a drink of that before I wash her wounds."

Dezima looked like she was going to argue - which she was - but Microth had different thoughts. Dezimine. I will be alright, I promise. We did all we could do. Now let Cai help you and I. She is right. You need to rest. The green crooned to her rider, carefully nuzzling her nose against Dezima's side.

She couldn't stand her dragon being hurt! But if she caught a chill, or fainted from shock overload, that could be an even worse fate for both of them. So with a reluctant nod, the greenrider did as Cai said, sitting down beside her dragon. "T-Thank you. For your help."

I am sure she will be gentle with me. I must be in fit condition to fight again! We can't let the same thing happen again.

Cai smiled down at her. "You're welcome. I'll need you awake to tell me if what I do hurts Microth. I can't talk to her or control her myself." She gently took the waterskin back and turned to Microth's side, trailing her hand along the healthy side as she walked to the largest of the wounds.

"Keep her from thrashing. I won't be able to see how bad these are until they're clean." One more deep breath, what was read about and done in practice was much different preforming in real life. She'd not yet had the opportunity to work on a dragon and was secretly thankful that her first patient was a Green. Still...she hadn't imagined starting her career was a dragonhealer like this, in a foreign Weyr with next to no supplies and no Master to guide her learning.

She trickled the water over the wound, using her sleeve to carefully wipe at the clotted ichor.

Dezima managed to smile and nod, but her mind was absent, distracted by replaying the events that had led up to them being here. Seeking refuge at an unfamiliar Weyr. One that was also under attack. She clenched her teeth to keep from falling apart again and tried really hard not to blame herself for Microth's current condition.

This was not your fault, Dezimine. We were betrayed by the whers and I had to protect you. The green said simply, standing mostly still for the girl hers called Cai.

<But maybe if I'd been better->

Microth snorted. Wherry talk! We are a strong pair. Caught off guard and unprepared. But we have knowledge now. And we won't be surprised a second time. The green shifted her weight slightly, a soft hiss escaping as the wound stung. The Crimson one wants us to fight, if we can. Are you ready to face those that betray us again, mine?

Dezima didn't want to. Didn't want to fight people that were once friend and ally. But the anguish at losing their home had begun to kindle a small fire of anger. And now that she wasn't in a state of shock so much anymore, Dezima felt she was ready to take on that task. As brutal as it might be. <Yes, my heart. I am ready.>

"Have...have you seen anyone else...from Benden?" She finally asked Cai.
