((Vreni Hirsch - Food Stalls))

A girl pushed her way through the crowd, her purple hair caught Vreni's eye. She smiled and motioned towards a stand that had various candy-apples in it, they were all covered in a bright-red layer of sugar. Next to it was another tray. On the waxed paper neat rows of Granny-Smith apples were sitting. Half of them were dipped in caramel, and half weren't.

"We have candy apples that you can have dipped in peanuts, walnuts, M&Ms, milk chocolate, white chocolate, sprinkles, coconut or any combination of the eight. "

Vreni took a deep breath. It was a long list of condiments, and she always seemed to overestimate how long it would take to say it all. There should be a sign to tell customers what toppings and flavors they had, maybe she'd make it later.

"We also have caramel apples if you'd prefer those. You can have the same toppings as candy apples. Toppings are twenty-five cents per, or one dollar for five. What would you like?"

((Audrey Starfield-- Food Stalls (Candied Apples) ))

Audrey nodded at the great selection. Wow. She actually liked a lot of those things, but she wasn't all that sure which she should choose to put together. "What would you recommend?" She settled for at last.

The girl working the stand seemed to know her stuff. Audrey figured that she wouldn't be disappointed if she took a suggestion; her thoughts were still too frenzied after wondering where her sister was and fighting her way through the crowd to decide. "I'd like something sweet, maybe with a tang at the end. Any ideas?"

The crowd beyond the stall roiled with people coming and going, anxious to acquire food and progress through the town's festival. It was a grand display, but at the same time more than a little intimidating. "Bet you guys are doing great business tonight." Audrey commented off-hand.

((Vreni Hirsch - Food Stalls))

The girl seemed to be having trouble deciding what she wanted, and Vreni could sympathize with that. There were a lot of combinations, and everything offered was pretty good, though she did not fancy walnuts.

"I recommend just a plain caramel apple actually. The Granny-Smiths are a little tangy by default, and the caramel is nice and buttery. You can always add some nuts if you like, but I think simple is best."

Her attention shifted towards the crowd behind the purple haired girl. There were a lot of people. Vreni was always surprised with the number of people that came to the fair. Did Teufel Town even have this many residents? she chuckled half-heartedly, "You'd think we'd have more business, but these apples are selling pretty slowly."

((Lalita - School Buses, with Kamala and Tilly))

Why couldn't the girl have asked for something easy? Because if it was easy, she'd do it herself, Lalita told herself. It was, at least, somewhat comforting that she wasn't the only one who was having difficulty navigating the festival. Maybe it wasn't a failing on her part, but on the part of the organizers, for failing to provide adequate information. The thought cheered her up considerably, and she nodded at the girl. "Leave it to me! We'll find the food in no time!" She spoke with much more confidence than she felt, but the lack of proper organization made her hopeful that her perseverance would pay off, for once.

Kamala tugged on Lalita's hand, her expression still troubled. "Are we going with a stranger?"

"No, she's coming with us. We were going to find the food booths anyway- you wanted a candy apple, right?" Lalita explained slowly and calmly, wondering why Kamala was so nervous. It was true that they weren't supposed to talk to strangers, but in a big crowd like this, they could hardly avoid it, and anyway, it wasn't as though they were being lured anywhere. And being nervous was usually her job; having it taken from her felt very weird.

For a moment Lalita thought there would still be trouble, but Kamala relaxed and nodded. She still kept close to her sister, but she smiled shyly. "I like your dress," she said to the stranger, smoothing a wrinkle in her pink seersucker shorts as she spoke.

Ah, thought Lalita. That morning, Kamala had put up a big fuss about wanting to wear a party dress to the party. Their mother had quashed that idea, claiming that a dress would be hot and get messy and ripped. Maybe Kamala was jealous, but likely she was just admiring the fact that someone could keep their dress clean in this crowd. "It's pretty, she agreed, looking around for the direction their mother had gone off in. "The booths should be this way. Let's go!"

(( Phoebe Lied - School Buses near Catherine Shepard ))

A hop skip away from where Phoebe had lept off from the bus was something she didn't quite care for: a person! A quick attempt to try and ignore the oncoming disaster that Phoebe related people to, she stuck her nose deeper into the binding of the book. Unfortunately, the blonde quickly found herself practically bookfirst into another blonde, one with purple eyes and what appeared to be the anxious appearance of a bunny. A strange noise hit Phoebe as the book slide off her face and then proceeded to slip out of her hands and fall on the ground. Immediately she bent over to pick it up, ignoring Catherine until she proceeding in playfully hitting Catherine with the book on the shoulder, perhaps putting a bit more force into it than Catherine had even bumping into her.

"No problem!" She grinned widely, opening the book back up and peering over the edge at her before proceeded to move on. Things to do, things to see, neither of which included Catherine.

"N-no!" Flora replied a tad indignantly to the blue haired girl. "I mean, a little." She couldn't help it, you asked kids if they were lost, and she wasn't a kid. "I-I just can't find the bathroom, I need paper towels for, um-" Only little girls got their food everywhere. She turned beet red as she realized this, and muttered, "Something," clutching her arms tighter to her chest. "Could you help me please?"

Next to the blue haired girl, a boy who looked like a sibling of hers suddenly ducked down, startling Flora and causing her to glance around skittishly, as if expecting to see a witch's familiar slam into a building. She had been a Puella Magica for a few months now and not encountered many, but her friends at the museum had made it perfectly clear that it was her job to fight them, at least when the museum was involved, and they terrified her. She wasn't made of the stuff that monster fighters were made of, all that was for heroes in anime with considerably pointier hair than she had. The first time she had faced down a monster, she had nearly fainted, and now that she knew that they could be anywhere, at any time, and that they hunted for people, she got skittish whenever someone acted abnormal. She hated being a magical girl. Protecting the museum exhibits every now and then was one thing, trying to save all these people was quite another! Especially with powdered sugar all down her front!

Still, everything looked fairly normal, and she allowed her paranoia to subside, but just to be safe, she edged a bit closer to the girl, taking a deep breath as she did so. "Ehm, why's your friend, uh..." she ducked her head to imitate him, "Why's he hiding? He didn't see something strange, did he?"

[[Tilly - LEAVING THE BUSES WITH Lalita + sibling]]

It wouldn't have surprised Tilly if the two girls had turned her away. She was surprised, however, when they did quite the opposite (though the younger of the pair did seem a bit nervous about her presence). Making certain to mind her own manners, the blonde made her gratitude evident quite quickly. "I thank you kindly."

The younger one spoke up, voicing an interest in her dress. When receiving a compliment, a young lady should acknowledge the compliment, then return one to the person who gave it. Gently she ran a hand over the front of her pinafore before doing the proper thing. "Thank you, I am also quite fond of this dress. I have to confess I am a bit envious of your ability to wear shorts." It was an odd compliment, but she was able to explain a bit more in depth while maintaining a good disposition. "I do not have the right kind of legs to wear them."

The elder of the pair seemed quite on top of things, guiding the group ahead. Keeping her hands towards the front of her pinafore and maintaining perfect posture as she walked, she introduced herself. "My name is Tilly. It is lovely to meet both of you." She nodded to the shorter, then the taller of the sibling pair, silently inquiring of their own names.

"O-oh," the girl nodded fervently in reply, though she didn't quite register what the crimson-eyed woman was saying at her. All she noticed were the familiar lines of the map and the red dot she was pointing to, though her eyes strayed towards the Big Belle more than anything else.

"S-she was supposed to meet me here, yes, but... oh, she must be with someone else, she's so forgetful... I ven-- venture that your daughter isn't... isn't from the Quail school, is she?" she brushed a hand through her wavy locks and stared off into the distance, craning her head in a vain effort to try to see past the crowd. It was a bit fruitless, since she was quite short, and adults and students alike overshadowed her rather easily, but the effort did reap some benefit.

"Princess Sophie!"

Frowning, the green-eyed girl looked behind her and noticed Meridith edging towards them. It was her deer-like fear of strangers that made her stray behind Sophie and her mother, for though she didn't know them for long at all, they were more familiar than this newcomer... or, at least, that was what she'd reasoned, and she verified that they were nice enough for showing her their map.

"P-princess...?" she glanced at the young blonde, then to her mother, "I... I didn't know..."

HOUR TWO
7:00 PM

Nothing has changed, but the buses are now seemingly flooding every parking lot within a half-mile radius of the festival gates. Fortunately, most of the students have no set up shop in their craft areas, the food stands are ready to go, and everything is bursting into fruition.

Circus music from the famous troupe is bursting with livelihood, though its volume doesn't quite reach that of the local school bands. Surprisingly, the Teufel Town school annex band is still playing, and they're going strong!

Other than that, the festivities continue, and not much happen: the only eventful thing so far is the festival's First Firework which, this year, is a luminescent and bursting shade of bright green.

(( gloria vitanza & hanna dewitt - food stalls
I'm aware that a couple of groups are around the food stalls, so whomever replies first will be nearer to Gloria and Hanna! ))

"Aren't you supposed to be with the other schools, hun?"

Gloria stood up from her booth at the food stalls to readjust a few stands on a table. Her look to the purple-eyed brunette in front of her spoke plainly enough-- her narrowed eyelids chided Hanna for clogging up her stand, the crossing of her arms signaled how irritated she was, and her flickering inattention to the teenager showcased her general disinterest in her company.

"I don't have a table this year, but thanks for the check-up!" Hanna was known well enough for her unscrupulous demeanor, which she regarded as her own brand of steel-willed patience.

"Really. Well then, I'm sorry, dear, would you like for me to get a chair for you so you can sit down?"

It was an insincere question, but Hanna chimed in with a cheery "That'd be great," and Gloria felt blood drain from her features. The season before the festival was always a finicky time for her already, and when Hanna was around, her nervous ticks (readjusting her earrings and headband, brushing her ear, tapping her foot) always intensified tenfold, which made her presence near her business all the more irritating.

She smiled nonetheless and reached under the booth to grab an folding chair, ushering Hanna around the booth whilst she unfolded a seat for her. Hanna sat in Gloria's original seat while she did so, idling about as another text rang from her cellphone-- when Gloria stood back up, she stared at Hanna with a tinge of disbelief, but decided to ride off the scenario and sat down in the other chair.

Gloria reasoned that patience always did her better than any amount of anger, but her fuse was running short: she grinned, albeit forcefully, and her voice was a bit too saccharine to be considered healthy: "Alright, now. What did you want to talk to me about? You came here rather early, is it urgent?"

Hanna pocketed her cellphone and crossed her legs, mirroring Gloria's body language with near mocking precision, and nodded. She looked around at the other foodstalls before leaning in closer to Gloria (who leaned away in a vague effort to stay away from her), her hands wrung together over her lap.

"It's about the tower Witch I was talking to you about. I mean," Hanna leaned back in her chair, "You've noticed it around here, right? Don't tell me you haven't."

"I've been a bit preoccupied lately, so no..."

"Check your Soul Gem first, then, and you'll see what I mean."

Gloria loosened the silver ring around her finger, and placed it over her open palm, which she held safely below the table booth. It melted into a circle of light before reforming itself as a glimmering Soul Gem, just larger than Gloria's index finger-- it pulsated wildly from a stark yellow to a dim orange, and Gloria glanced at Hanna with a worried frown.

"...What's all this?"

"You weren't listening to me when I warned you earlier, did you?" Hanna took out her own Soul Gem, which Gloria anxiously noted was stuffed into the jean pocket where her cellphone was.

"No, I'm afraid I've forgotten."

"When you moved your Cafe gig into Apple District-- well, I guess you were pretty busy, but anyway-- when you moved there, I told you about that Witch I'd been hunting for a few years, now. The strong one. You know--"

"--Uh, 'scuse me?"

Gloria turned to stare blankly at a customer from the front of her booth-- they were only feet away from her, and she wondered how she didn't notice. Flustered, she summoned her Soul Gem to transform again into its ring form, and stood up from her seat to greet the rather confused child.

Sighing quietly, Hanna folded her arms and waited impatiently for Gloria to finish, though she did appreciate that the customer wasn't a girl, at least.

((Lalita - Buses -> Food Stalls, with Kamala and Tilly))

People kept pouring into the bus area as Lalita tried to fight her way through the crowds. She held onto Kamala's hand tightly, but didn't feel comfortable doing that with a complete stranger, even if she'd promised the stranger her assistance. "Stay close," she called, "if we get separated, I don't think we'll ever be able to find you." Not that she would try too hard. She had better things to do than search the massive crowd for someone she didn't even know, or at least, she liked to think that she did.

Lalita was focused on finding their way, doing her best to keep going in the direction she remembered her mother leaving in. All of the stalls would be in that general area, if it was anything like previous years. Kamala followed, but also tried to keep out an eye for their new friend. Now that she'd gotten her feelings about the dress out in the open, she was much more talkative. "There's a right kind of legs for shorts? Oh, my name is Kamala. My sister's is Lalita. You're nice, Tilly! What kind of legs do I have? Are shorts just for tall people? But I'm not tall, not like Mommy or Mo-Mo. And Lali's not tall either."

Lalita stopped suddenly, and Kamala frowned. "Why'd you stop? Are you mad 'cause I said you're not tall? But you're not. And that's okay, and..." She trailed off, as the scents in the air reached her brain. "I smell popcorn! And caramel, and cin- cinna- cimmanin!"

"Cinnamon," Lalita corrected automatically, inwardly sighing with relief. She couldn't see any specific stands through all the people, but they had to be in the right general area. She'd managed to fulfill at least part of the request. Now, would it be better to aim for perfection, or to cut her losses and move onto the next project?

Kamala looked around, but what little she couldn't see wasn't enough to top the visions in her head. "I want popcorn and funnel cake and cotton candy and taffy and ice cream and, and... and candy apples! What are you getting, Tilly? You wanna share?"

That answered that question, Lalita sighed. "You can't even eat all of that, and Mom would ground me for a month if I let you try." As Kamala pouted (but only a little- she still had room for a lot of goodies in her tummy), Lalita turned to Tilly. "Is there a specific stand you were looking for? I can't promise I can help you find it, but... I got us this far, right?" If she was going to keep this up, she needed some confirmation that her efforts weren't totally in vain.

[[Tilly - Food Stalls with Lalita + sibling]]

Tilly nodded obediently. If she was more familiar with the duo, she might have attempted to hold hands in her efforts to stay close, but she knew it wouldn't be right for her to act so familiar after just meeting the pair.

Kamala (as she had just introduced herself), seemed quite curious about Tilly's comment on shorts. The blonde would have replied if she hadn't somewhat been saved by the presence of the food stalls. It truly seemed as if Lalita (as Kamala had introduced) was quite good at navigating through the terrible crowds. People continued to move forward, only parting ever so slightly to avoid colliding with the trio who had paused in place.

Kamala spouted out what she wanted from the stalls, and when Lalita scolded the child for wanting so many things, Tilly ended up blushing. Though the blonde might not have planned to eat all of the same things as the child, she probably would end up eating quite a few more treats than she should have.

"I think this is fine here, but I would like to thank you two for helping me get here. I would like to treat you both to funnel cake, if that is all right with both of you."

(( Sophie - School Busses ))

"Quail?" Sophie's mother repeated, then chuckled, "No, no. Teufel Elementary." She might have responded further, had a familiar voice not cut through the crowd.

"Princess Sophie!"

The call rang out clear and true amidst the commotion around them. Sophie's red eyes lit up and once she caught Meridith's gaze, she broke away from her mother's grasp and ran toward the purple haired girl with her arms outstretched. "My prince!" she called happily, closing the distance and wrapping her small arms around the older girl's waist, burying her face against Meri's tummy.

Bouncing on the heels of her feet, she reached up for her prince once their hug was finished, calling for her to come down to Sophie's height. She cupped her hands around her mouth to project, keeping her voice to a sharp but overly excited whisper. "There's a beautiful Enchantress speaking with the Queen! She's lost. We're on a quest to help her." This was Sophie's way of summing up the events that had just come to pass and usually it was a suitable way of recounting for Meri, even for her mother sometimes.

Back towards the busses, Chloe smiled and waved as the middle school girl's voice reached her ears and her daughter pulled quickly away. She was trustworthy enough that Sophie wouldn't be lost in the crowd with Meridith and the two would no doubt make their way back. Instead, she turned back to the green eyed girl only to find that she had pitifully taken to hiding behind her. Turning back curiously, her dark brows knit with motherly worry but a sympathetic smile played across her face.

"She's not, really," Chloe explained, glancing over her shoulder toward Sophie, "It's a game. Our house is our castle, she's the princess, I'm the queen, you know -- not actual royalty. She's very imaginative. Just go along with it, if you don't mind," giggling, she masked the hint of worry at the idea that Sophie might throw a tantrum if someone told her she was in fact not a princess. She was eight years old but in a lot of ways she acted like she was still in kindergarten and her level of social maturity left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, it was much easier in public to just go along with it but eventually she and Howie would need to sit her down and assist her in suppressing these flights of fantasy.

In the mean time, she was young and would be allowed to enjoy them.

"Whats your name, hun?" she changed the subject abruptly, brightening her smile, "If you want, you can stay with us until you spot your friend. It'll be a lot safer traveling in a group instead of by yourself." Motherly instinct was kicking in but the fact that this girl seemed so certain she was forgotten by this so-called "friend" was grating quickly on Chloe's nerves. What sort of friend would forget something so important in an event this big? Rude.

(( Meilei - Sidewalk ))

This girl.

This girl was trying on Meilei's last nerve. It didn't take long to jump to that. When she had arrived, she was so calm and ready to enjoy herself, even if loneliness was creeping in, but some how this rude girl in a red dress managed to get under her skin in record time. Their exceptionally brief exchange drew in a spectator as well but this only served as a further annoyance since she couldn't tell whose side she was on.

"Stupid," Meilei chimed back to Shasta with a vicious grin, decorated nails resting on her hips, "TOO stupid. Not even make good comeback." Was the other girl backing down? What a weak priss! "Start a thing, can't finish. Dumb. Lame," the insults continued rolling easily from her mouth but they were promptly ignored when the other girl finally noticed the one watching them and hissed at her.

So this girl wasn't on the rude one's side. This was even further proven when she began speaking in a condescending way towards her and Meilei's chest swelled proudly. Her attentions, then, immediately shifted to the heavily accented French girl, even going so far as to take a few steps in approach. "Bump into Meilei, act like it MY fault, then call Meilei stupid. Meilei not stupid, she stupid. MOST stupid!" The Taiwanese girl was having difficulty keeping her volume at an acceptable level by this point, drawing other eyes from the passing crowd. She didn't care. Her mind was only on the three of them at that precise moment; they were all that existed.

Her heart was pounding frantically, excitement over the antagonistic situation mingling with a possible hope; if this girl wasn't on the rude one's side then surely she was on her side. If that were the case, then maybe it was possible she could connect with this girl over their common "enemy". Just maybe there was a chance they could be more than simple acquaintances over this matter.

(( Shasta: Sidewalks near the main parade route, the crowds partitioned off, with Meilei and Lucette ))

If one thing could be said about her brother, it was that he was a very level-headed young man. He was the better of the two at handling terse situations by balancing both sides and keeping his wits about him. Shasta, on the other hand, starkly differed from her twin brother in the fact that she had a problem maintaining a cool demeanor when her temper flared. And when it flared, it burned with inferno-like intensity. Perhaps without fully realizing it, Meilei had added the most amount of gasoline to that fire with one of the things Shasta hated to hear the most. Teachers questioned her intelligence, her mother complained about it, her brother joked about it, but all the same she hated it.

Nobody was allowed to call her stupid.

Her eyebrows dipped into dangerous hooks, lids narrowed as Meilei turned to Lucette was though she were pleading a case. If Shasta had been less angry, she would have noticed that Meilei was doing her own share of stretching the truth, accusing her of calling her stupid. By this point in time Shasta's anger had taken control completely and she flexed her fingers and balled them into tight fists. She was going to punch her, square in the mouth. Her breathing hiked, and her angry eyes glanced around at the small crowd that had started to stare at them. What in the hell were they staring at? A teenage boy who looked older than her happened to edge close enough in passing with a waffle cone in hand as he casually talked to the girl at his side. In a moment of what she might mistakenly label as "divine inspiration" later, she snatched the ice cream from his hand, ignoring his loud "HEY" of protest as she went. With long strides forward, her heeled boots clacking angrily against the sidewalk, she reared her arm back and threw it at the lying, badly-dressed girl with all her strength.

The ice cream landed smack in the middle of Meilei's chest and splattered the front of her brightly-colored shirt with fudge, vanilla, and waffle cone bits. Her arm still outstretched, she was breathing heavily, angrily, before she pulled it back in and took a deep breath.

"NEVER, EVER CALL ME STUPID AGAIN," Shasta yelled, so loudly that her voice hurt a little from doing so. More people stared, but the heat of her anger drove her on. "OR NEXT TIME I'LL PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE." Panting a little, she took a step backwards and pivoted before breaking through the wall of spectators and rushing off. She was done with this place. She was done with this girl, done with this situation.

It was then that Shasta counted the chimes that Big Belle so happily rung out on the hour mark. Seven.

She was late.

Her angry pace moved up to an even angrier run as she balled her hands into the fabric of her dress to keep it from sliding over the concrete. Her brother would never let her hear the end of this. Her elbows and shoulders knocked into strangers who had craned their necks back to see the first of the Teufel Day fireworks, a few made complaints, but she made no apology. Her ears felt hot and her hands were shaking.

Today was the worst day. Everything was ruined.

------------------------------

(( Gemma: Near the funnel cake stand with Flora and her brother Toby ))

As soon as the young blonde girl replied sharply, Gemma leaned back. She had never meant to make her feel like she was being condescending or as though she were babying her. The very knowledge of such caused guilt to seep into her heart and it stung a little. She had been trying to help someone and she messed it up, good intentions or not. Even though the girl backpedaled and admitted she needed assistance, the guilt did not dissipate, and Gemma pursed her lips nervously. Her hand rubbed the bare skin of her other arm - a habit that tended to rear its head whenever she felt most awkward. But the reddening of the girl's cheeks and the flash of white hidden by her crossed arms also made sympathy well up in there as well. It was better to be tactful about this now, maybe discretely direct her in the right direction to avoid embarrassment.

"Oh, uhm, well --" But Gemma was cut short as her companion looked suddenly nervous and started taking sharper note of their surroundings. It was on the tip of her tongue to ask what was the matter, but she was afraid of wording it wrong and insulting the poor girl again. Instead she just blinked at her, and when the girl had voiced her concern about Toby, she slowly put the pieces together. Perhaps she was just the skittish type - Gemma could understand that with her own wariness about others. "Oh no, he's okay, it's just that his friend --" For the second time, Gemma was interrupted as Toby's hand clenched on the back of her shirt.

"He saw me, shoot," he grumbled, and with that he pushed away from his sister. "Sorrygottagoseeyoulater!" was all she managed to catch before he disappeared into the crowd. Another voice called out over the crowd, calling her brother's name, and before long the familiar face of Toby's best friend Rob appeared a short distance away. He was unaccompanied, Gemma noted, which was a good sign. "Come on, man, it was just a joke!" Rob yelled into the crowd, and back into the current of people he went. Gemma turned to the girl with a hint of apology in her eyes.

"They're just kind of.. fighting, I guess," she explained with a shrug. "They'll get over it. But uhm," she digressed, returning to the more important subject at hand, "the restrooms are over that way." She pointed over the heads of the crowd and towards the left of the duo. "Down a ways. But uhm.. hold on.." She deposited the half-eaten funnel cake in the garbage and fished out the napkins she'd stuffed in her pockets for her and her brother's use and offered them to her new companion. "Here, try these for now. I don't know how long the line for the bathroom is."

(( Olivia: Heading toward the food stands, followed by her brother, Daniel. ))

" AUGH" Came the loud, exasperated grieving of a young lady from within the crowd, pushing forward with a quicker pace than the rest of the festival goers; especially faster than the tall young man trailing casually behind her. " We are SO late! It's already past seven o'clock! God, Daniel, you just had to make us miss the first bus, didn't you!"

" C'mon Sis," the teen rolled his eyes, shoving his hands into his pockets as he continued to follow casually behind the blonde sibling. " You still have hours to do whatever you want. Cool your jets already."

Olivia stopped in her tracks, quite abruptly, to pivot herself around and glare daggers at her brother. Pouting, hands on her hips, she continued to reprimand him," The teachers thought we ditched! And... and!! I promised Gloria I'd swing by the Cafe's booth in case she needed extra help! "

" And you still can, shortstuff," he chimed, finally approaching her and reaching a hand down to ruffle her hair with a devious grin," And we didn't ditch and the school knows that. So stop tweaking out, kid."

" Dammit, Daniel, stop calling me tha--- and stop doing that," she retaliated, reaching her own arm forward to unleash a flurry of little punches on her older brother's arm and torso, to which her just let out a comical 'oof', and stumbled backward a few steps.

"Aw s**t, you got me! So much paiiin," he mocked, laughing as he spoke," How could you, Olivia? After all we've been though?"

" Oh, shut up," the rose-eyed girl called after him, though by this time, her voice also carried an lightness to it, and her expression changed from annoyance to a confident playfulness. " You are an idiot, you know that?" Olivia took the time addressing her sibling to tighten the ponytail sitting atop her head before sticking her tongue out at him. " I'm leaving now then! You can't keep me any longer from all the important junk I gotta do. And food. No way are you keeping me from food."

"Yeah yeah," Daniel, looking away as if disinterested, waved her off with a loose flick of his wrist. "Get outta here, already."
