Why--Syd stared blankly at the man that had just changed in front of her--(okay, one thing about the guy, he had a GREAT body) blankly, because great body or not, he was absolutely insane. Wait... well, maybe not, she thought as she got down on the ground to start her situps. She had upped her own work out sessions because of that last race for her life.
Unfortunately, situps hadn't really be incorporated into that workout session...

Oh please, no, she told him, gritting her teeth and doing more situps. The last thing she wanted was to hear about Harry and Suzy while working to get her promotion. But Izy just kept talking, and it totally blew her concentration, Syd thought as she finished up another (pathetic) four situps.

By the fourth set, Ryan was already feeling tired. He just wanted to go back curl up with a good book. The only thing keeping him from actually going was that if he stopped for even a second, Locke would open his trap and start talking crap again. Right now he was simply keeping count, like he had promised.

Izy fell silent when she proved that his talking didn't do any good in this situation. Quietly he started counting for her, which actually helped, because she kicked it up a notch again, going strong for ten situps. Soon the only thing in her mind was his smooth, easy voice counting where she didn't have to. Maybe she would add situps to her regimen after this. There was nothing wrong with having a nice six pack!

:Now for the push-ups!: The notable glee in Locke's voice made Ryan groan. There was no chance for a breather yet. Not with Locke pushing him like he was.

And she'd been right, she thought as she fell onto her back at forty eight situps. That wasn't even a fourth of the way through what the Sun Leader had wanted. But then again, she wasn't sun, she thought darkly. And there was definitely no way she was going to transfer.

If Locke didn't shut up, Ryan swore he was seriously going to consider finding the worst possible place and abandoning him there. Or at least leave him long enough that he wouldn't annoy the hell out of him so much. But that was asking for the impossible now wasn't it?

After a second of breathing and heading Allan bellowing encouragements mixed with strange words she was positive weren't English, Syd rolled onto her stomach and started doing pushups. Pushups were actually in her workout regimen now, so it was actually easier than the situps--sort of.

Okay he was almost done and if he kept at it, Locke just obediently counted for him. He supposed he should be thankful for the carbuncle for pushing him on. But when they're blabbing on like a chattering monkey it was hard to appreciate the support.

Up and down, up and down, Syd's mind was full of... well, pretty much nothing. Pushups sort of killed the brain. Any moment she'd be daydreaming about something ridiculous--like pizza. Oh man, what she wouldn't do for pizza. Even after seeing the pizza fall into the sewers that one time, she'd gotten over it. She REALLY wanted pizza... and ice cream. Oh, did she want ice cream.
