Rory didn't like the way KO was looking at him. So far every person that had asked for his story had accepted it for what it was and let it go. There was no way this guy was getting told anymore than he already had. Granted, if he wanted, he could probably search for it online and find the entire mess.

One day he would have to have someone hack into there and delete it all.

Rory turned his attention to the screen once again as the traffic light came on and started counting down from three.

"Is there any substance without its drawbacks?" he asked as he hit the accelerator button as the light turned green. "Do you think the substance would work the same on pokemon as it does on the humans?"

The grunt sighed slightly, "That it does. But then doesn't every job, in a way?"

"I don't know yet," KO replied with a shrug, "it might be that the formula can't be adapted to work on them at all, but it's worth my while to try. I suspect it might affect only physical stats... but then again it could be that the increased aggression could boost special attack; aggression’s as much in the mind as in the body after all. All that's speculation of course, clinical trials will be needed; I gather I won't be short of test subjects thanks to the cloning labs." He paused there and gave a short laugh, amending to; "I, or whoever takes the work on if they won’t let me near it anymore. I really must hand over the papers I've written on the substance, though I'm sure they're having fun with reverse engineering the process at the moment."

"If it was able to be adapted, it could be worth it. Depending on whose hands it was in any way," he could think of a few people that did not need a substance to increase their pokemon's aggression. He slightly shuddered at the thought.

"That is definitely true. There's a lot of pokemon that come out of there every day," Granted he wasn't sure exactly how many of them were proper clones and how many had faults to them. "It probably depends. I wouldn't hand the papers over until I was promoted. Then you'd probably have the better chance of working with it yourself."

KO’s digital car careered off the road and bashed into an obstacle. If it had been a real car it would have been a write off – the driver too probably – but once he remembered where his fingers were supposed to go he was able to get back into the race. He was now, as far as he could tell, in last place.

“Told you I’d be terrible,” he drawled conversationally.

“Anyway, if it does work I imagine who gets it will be carefully regulated; like you say, it’ll only be any good if it’s in the right hands. Last thing we need is some idiot who can’t control their pokemon using it.” He wouldn’t use it on Duke; he had a loose command style with the Raichu that required the electric type to do most of the thinking for himself. PokeSynth – or whatever it ended up being called – would probably be best used on pokemon that were kept on a tight leash. Just the same as normal Synth, really.

“Maybe I will keep it to myself for now,” he added, glancing away from the screen to smirk at Rory. “I like the way you think.”

Rory tried not to laugh as he glanced at KO's half of the screen. He fought down the chuckles but couldn't contain his smirk.

"It's your first time; it takes a bit to get used to it." he replied and listened as KO explained more about his creation.

"Or someone that can't control their temper. Even if the pokemon didn't go on a rampage, the trainer could unleash it if they had a vendetta against someone," If it had been on the market when he was younger, he would have tried it out on Pinkie just to get back at some of the people he had dealt with. He would have reveled in seeing the looks on their faces when a super-powered pink Ponyta came charging their way.

Rory grinned at him, feeling slightly glad he could help the trainee out. If KO handed it over now, there would probably be little to no chance of him getting to work on it himself. It had been hard enough getting clearance to use old machinery from the lab as a grunt, he couldn't imagine trying to get them to let a trainee work with the equipment. Even though he was qualified for it.

"Thanks."

“Oh, well I suppose everyone’s a bit clumsy their first time,” KO replied, laying the innuendo on so thick it probably ought to have reached from where they sat to the stratosphere. Still, his car was going forwards for now, and that was a positive outcome. “I’ll have to take you for a ride in my car sometime,” he added, “I think you might find it an enjoyable experience.” He missed his car already. He hoped it was alright, all alone in that garage. When he went out shopping he’d have to drop by and take it out for a spin.

“Again, agreed,” he went on once he had negotiated a tricky bend. “It’s all very well for them to go all out like that against enemies... but you wouldn’t want them turning an enhanced pokemon onto an ally they happened to have something against.” He didn’t actually care too much about that, but it wasn’t like agreeing cost him anything.

There was no possible way to ignore the innuendo that was laced in KO's statement. The red head's comment made a slight tint of red appear on the blond's cheeks. "It comes easier with more experience," he replied with a grin and hit the button that would activate the turbo on his virtual car, "it's more fun then too."

The mention of the car got him curious. "What kind of car do you have?"

KO flicked a glance and a smirk over at Rory. "I'm glad you're here to show me how it goes," he purred. He never could resist, no matter whether he thought the other party was interested in him or not.

"He's an Aston Martin DBS V12," KO went on, finding the turbo himself and promptly smashing into the back of another car. Woops. "Red of course; the colour of passion," he added with another smirk as he tried to get back on course.

Rory chuckled slightly but moved a bit further down the sofa, leaving a wide gap between them. This guy couldn't ooze more innuendo if he tried. He hoped the red head just had that personality where he flirted with anyone around and wasn't actually coming onto him.

"Wow," he said, impressed, while trying to bite back a laugh at the fiery crash on the screen. "Maybe if I drive it sometime?" He hoped KO wouldn't get offended by him not referring to the car by the gender he gave it, but there was no way he was using it in that sentence.

Somebody else drive his car? That was not something he would consider lightly and more than he would lend out his clothes or let strangers use his toothbrush. Still... team player, team game, make nice, make friends, get ahead. "We'll see," KO said after a slight pause, sending a slightly less smirky smile Rory's way. "He's very special, so I'll have to be sure of your driving skills before I consider letting you behind the wheel." An honest answer; sometimes honesty was the best policy, after all Rory would (probably?) expect him to be protective of his car.

The expression on KO's face before he spoke again caused Rory to bit back a small smirk of his own. So this guy wanted to make friends (or allies at least) by offering his sewing talents with no payment other than materials (after slightly insulting the person's choice in clothes) and flirting as much as possible, but his personal effects were not something he was willing to put on the line.

"I guess we'll have to hang out more then," he commented. Not like he would get behind the wheel of an Aston Martin; the last he had driven had been in cheap rental cars and that had been only to get his driver's license. He never did get his own car and his mentor had refused to let a 'sixteen year old hormone bomb' borrow hers.

KO smiled and inclined his head in assent. "Sounds good to me, Rory." Excellent.
