Sasha wrapped her arms around her middle and promptly set to rocking back and forth. Tears dampened her lashes as she shook her head.
"I.. I went through the doctor's stuff. His desk."
She had to hold it together. The tears were horribly close to spilling down her cheeks.

Hesitating, Jerry's expression softened, hands trembling as he reached for her hand and scooted closer. "If he did something... you... you t-tell me, alright?"

Rin attempted to reach out and cautiously stroke Sasha's back. Almost afraid of what was causing her friend so much pain. She tried not to let her mind drift to the subtle little things Jerry may have been implying.

Sasha only nodded in response to Jerry's comment.
She almost felt bad for lying.
She wouldn't tell him of the brief shiver of fear she felt down in the cavern, when the doctor had touched her cheek. That had been a terrifying moment, and Sasha hadn't been entirely sure what had happened.
She didn't want to think about it.
Wordlessly, Sasha reached into her pocket and withdrew the photo and attached note she'd taken from the doctor's desk, handing it to Jerry as she leaned back into Rin's soothing back rub.

He frowned down at the photo, expecting... not a picture of an old farm house. "What is..." He turned it over to spot the note, reading with furrowed brows. "Is... is this your home?" Obtained items... put in storage.

Rin kept up the back rub even as her gaze shifted down to the picture before it was passed over to Jerry. The confused look on her face was unmistakable, she honestly had no clue what this was about now.

Sasha burst into tears. Hoarse wracking sobs shook her entire body. She doubled over, reaching out for Jerry in desperation.
"I t-t-think the d-doctor had s-s-someone go t-there, and I t-think that's w-who got my flute! I just.. why? A-and why p-pu-put my stuff - maybe e-even my p-p-p..." Sasha froze, forced herself to gain a modicum of composure, "my papa's stuff too? I.. it's in s-storage? H-here?"
Her voice had climbed in tone until she sounded close to losing her composure entirely.
"W-why, Jerry?"
Rin was not forgotten, but it was apparently that Sasha hoped that Jerry might have some kind of answer.

Jerry hesitated. He had no definite answers, but as his foggy, sick-laden mind tried to process it he had a few theories, "B-because... you wanted your flute? Had to... get it somehow," He murmured, gently wrapping an arm around her.
For a moment, he wondered if the hunters had cleared out his old one-roomed efficiency. Had they kept his instrument collection, put in storage somewhere? Or had they simply thrown it all out?

Rin frowned, she knew she had zero answers for any of this, but that didn't stop her too from leaning in, slipping her arm under Jerry's so she too could hug the woman. She plunked the side of her cheek on Sasha's shoulder.
Lingering thoughts of uselessness in the face of troubles crawled through her mind again.

Sasha gave a small distressed moan, shaking her head as she rose to her feet. Maybe Jerry was right, maybe things were that simple and she was over thinking things. It wouldn't be the first time. It just felt like nothing made sense anymore. Up was down, down was up, topsy-turvy inside out.
"I need to.. to sleep. I.. so much t-to think a-about, I can't..."

"It's... it's been a long day, we're all stressed," Jerry said softly, pulling back a moment as Rin slipped her arms around the girl.
His eyes went down to the note again. At first, Jerry had thought that the Doctor's interest in Sasha had been... well, the narcissistic part of his mind thought it had been simply to drive him up the wall. It had worked. But... no. Jerry wasn't important enough to warrant this sort of... he read the note again, his mind churning. Something was going on. Lists with names and warehouses with their belongings... some of it made sense, but... bundled all in a pile, it was a lot of question marks.
He glanced to the Moon trainee, still hugging Sasha, his stomach twisting. "I'll... talk to you later, Rin," He said it as sternly but politely as he could, gently reaching to try to help Sasha to her feet.

Rin released her hold on Sasha if only so she could stand. She shot Jerry a look that really couldn't be understood. She didn't look annoyed or happy and certainly nothing to any extreme. If anything she may have looked emotionless as she stared back at him.
It couldn't wait, but she had to let it.

Sasha's expression was unstable, tears one moment and a void the next, a soft snarl then back to tears. She couldn't tell how she was feeling - Sasha only knew that she wasn't in control of her own emotions.
It was terrifying.
Consumed by her own thoughts, Sasha allowed herself to be led away. She was in no state of mind to bid farewell to Rin; she would have to apologize later.

Jerry's face reddened at Rin's empty look, but kept his attention on the broken young woman under his arm. "We can... talk more about this later," He assured her gently, glancing back to Rin only once more before leading Sasha with a limp out and towards the sleeping bunker where his guitar had been stashed.

Rin just resolutely settled into her beanbag, laying back against a dolphin pillow. She was left with possibly nothing now. Nothing but her thoughts. It was okay. She was strong. She could take it.
That's what she thought though as she closed her eyes, warm tears rolling back into her hair. Why did life have to be so hard?
