Damn! Essa really had to grit her teeth not to say that out loud, he managed to attack despite the paralysis, good thing it was just a dark move

Spinel shrieked as Odin hit a particularly strong hit.
Lyle winced. It looked like he'd be sunk if he didn't get lucky, and maybe take a few chances. It might be a long shot, but playing it safe hadn't helped. "Spinel, try Confuse Ray again!" he called.
Spinel looked up at the Growlithe as his eyes began to flash.

Lyle cringed as Spinel was struck again. Straight attacking would never do now, not with the best of luck. "Try Confuse Ray once more!" he called. It was their only chance.
Spinel put forth his best effort, eyes flashing madly.

"I made up my mind at the beginning not to lose to a kid, and now this match is mine, Odin, Aerial Ace!
Odin backed up a few paces and ran as fast as he could, jumping a short distance and slashing the sableye with one claw
It was a move that didnt miss and had enough damage for them to win

With the sableye now down and out, Essa jumped in the air with glee and hugged Odin, your first win, you did great my little fluff ball
Essa had won both her matches, she was excited to see what happened next

Lyle was crushed when Spinel fell to the ground. He'd done so well in his last match, too! Guess it was too much to hope that he had a chance at this contest when he'd only just got his first pokemon. He walked out onto the field to pick up Spinel. "It's OK, you did great. We just got unlucky." He told the Sableye as he rushed his pokemon off to be healed.
