Molly, luckily, was not one to rub in the fact that Candace kept missing, nor was she the type to have mean thoughts such as ‘who’s sucking now!?’
“Um…you mean like a spider who hangs out in the corner of your apartment? Like…you don’t kill it because it gets the flies?” Molly paused. “…Uh…well, if we don’t clear out the building, then we can’t use the kitchens or have leave…” Her brows furrowed.

"More like the spider in the corner you keep trying to kill but it just. don't. die." Candace glared at the monster. Molly was right, though. They needed this building.
But the monster didn't agree. This monster needed to die.

“Ooooh!” Molly nodded her head in understanding. “Like, it also runs under the couch too, so you can’t get it, right?”
Molly remembered the little rascals like that.

"Yeah," She slammed her heel against the top of the creature's head. "Like those." She grinned. "It takes time, but you do eventually get them..."

Molly let out an awed sound as Candace seemed to get back in her groove of awesome and delivered a devastating kick to the creature.
“You go, Miss Candace!” The red head cried. “Cut its socks!” She also was on top of her defending, blocking another strike as it tried to lash out. “We’re almost there, I think!”

Candace grinned. This was better. She turned on the ball of her foot, swinging her leg around and slicing the creature's arm off. It shrieked, trying to strike out at her only to hit Molly's lance.

It was still alive. It. Was still. Alive. Barely. Candace's eyes narrowed. Atropos was purring. She was ready.
Fine, damnit.
"Molly, do me a favor. Hold your lance so the tip is against the floor, and hold it straight up...good girl. Now hold it steady." Candace didn't explain why, she just did it. She moved back a few steps before running forward, grabbing the lance with both hands where the ridges separated and swinging around with a leg extended toward the monster. The first kick connected. Candace curled up again, letting momentum keep her moving down the spiral of the lance's ridges. She kicked it again, and again..and one more time. She jumped off the lance, giving the monster a few final kicks until it essentially evaporated.
Candace panted, her hands on her knees and eyes narrowed as she glared down the hall. <******** that s**t. Candace stood, a hand against her chest. "I'm. So. Done..here." She breathed out, looking back at Molly.

Molly, like the good trainee who thought Candace walked on a plush carpet of rose petals, did was she was asked. She had no reason to doubt the older woman after all, and admired her greatly. That maneuver she just pulled helped to cement that.
Holding her lance as Candace wanted; the young woman watched as she spun around on her weapon and delivered a final, devastating attack to the creature. In short: it was beautiful.
As Candace announced she was done for now, well, Molly didn’t disagree. That had been a rough battle, and even though they could probably keep going, why risk it? The trainee gave a nod of her head. “Y…yeah, this was good for today, I think…a little goes a long way! It’s one less monster than when we started. If you start heading back, Miss Candace, I’ll cover you…” Molly moved closer to her, ready to have her back as they made their way out of the main building.

"Sure thing. But be careful yourself, okay? We only have one Molly~." Candace smiled, giving her a pat on the back as she followed alongside her. She draped an arm over Molly's shoulders, nuzzling her face against the girl's temple. "You did well, sweetheart."
Molly had said she'd have Candace's back, and Candace had hers as well. She would be sure to protect her. She lead her out of the main building, keeping Molly close while watching the fog all around them. Stay quiet, don't draw attention. They could get back to the underground without getting attacked again.
