All the pouting? All the pouting. "So what if I'm a foal?" Falcon challenged, pride a bit stung when he heard his father was a bit disappointed. "A little one's a leader and he's about as big as I am!" It still really hadn't gotten through his skull that Usdia had different lifestyles than regular Soquili. It also didn't help that he could all but hear his siblings talking about him, probably snickering at how much in trouble he was going to be int for his stupid ploy. He'd hoped that by showing his father how serious about this he was . . . Defiantly he picked up the lunchbag-stick and went to go at Mercy's side.

Syn looked around her at the sad faces, the fight that had been put to an end, little Falcon looking as though he was ready to leave and then back at Mercy. She gave her sister a wide smile. "Guess we know why no one else has left before. We are clearly no good at goodbyes." She was trying to joke again, to lighten the mood but honestly Syn wasn't sure if it would work. Everyone loved Mercy and it was hard to see the mare go. Still...at least things were calming down now that the initial wave of emotions had swept over the group.

The next few days would likely be hard on all of them, Mercy would be alone for the first time and those who remained here would need to come to grips with her departure. But surely they would be able to get through it by supporting everyone else.

Olo wanted to go comfort his sister, but he left that job to Poe, those two were so close that surely Poe would be able to make things better, even if it did take some time. Instead he focused on his brother. "I hope you do Syrrin. I'll be heading back to the shrine in a few days so they will be looking to you for guidance. Their mother and grandfather would be there for them as well, but he noticed the foals often gravitated towards him or Aunt Mercy, so with both of them gone Syrrin would need to step up to his role of big brother and make sure he did it right. "She's especially fond of the stream...and anything that involves running." He reminded his brother making sure he would do what Lapin loved.

Try as she might to remain sulking Poe coming to her side and pulling on her mane brought Lapin out of her mood quite a bit. She was still sad about Mercy and a bit mad at Syrrin but Poe was trying to help. And being that she loved her sister dearly it was easy to smile at her shier sibling. Pushing her nose into Poe's neck Lapin sighed and mumbled. "I like games..." But with Aunt Mercy likely mere moments from leaving the idea of playing a game wasn't as inviting as it should be. "Maybe in a little bit...when Aunt...Aunt Mercy....after she..." She couldn't finish the sentence without starting to cry again so she just let Poe figure it out, she didn't want to play until after Mercy left.

A smile grew on his maw as his sister spoke. And then when she was silenced by a single look from their mother Fairbreeze picked up where Kaliri had left off..after all mother had looked at her, not him. "Oh no Kaliri, he won't be grounded, father is too nice to do that. He will make a lesson out of this, and make sure we all learn from it. Still, he was wondering just what Falcon was thinking, why he hadn't mentioned anything about this to him, likely because Falcon would know that he would run straight to his parents and tell them. To his surprise Falcon moved closer to Mercy and Fairbreeze tipped his head to the side curiously. "Nope, I was wrong, he is definitely getting grounded now."

Mercy looked down at her father when he came up to stand beside her, having to tear her eyes away from Lapin to do so - poor Lapin, she was so young and a part of Mercy wanted to stay and delay this departure until she was older..but no, she couldn't do that. Much as she would like to do that she knew it was important that she move on with her life and like her father said - Lapin would understand that this wasn't forever in time.

"I know" She told him softly "She'll be fine, everyone will be and when I come back to visit we can have a celebration" She added with a laugh - because really why not take every opportunity possible to have a Celebration.

Any further words on the subject were paused however as she was suddenly joined by Falcon - one of Jarita and Eversong's foals. A quick look at the little fellow quickly revealed his plan - even thought she hadn't overheard the previous conversation. "Falcon" She told the foal, lowering her head to nudge him slightly "I wish you could come with me, you'd be great company - but you can't, not yet...it's a very long journey and your wings aren't strong enough to fly that far yet." She stated hoping to appeal to his logic.

Eversong couldn't help but gape at his son when he made such comment - he'd thought the foal had been raised better then to say such things about the Usdia they lived with..and when Falcon then stomped off to join Mercy a part of Eversong wanted to go over and pull the colt away by his ear for a stern talking to.

Of course that would make a huge scene at a time were it wasn't really appropriate and so he filed away the 'chat' for later...and they would have it because Falcon obviously needed it. For the moment he simply followed his son and gave Mercy a grateful look as she tried to turn him away from his crazy idea. Leaning his head down he whispered in a serious no nonsense tone "We're going to have a talk later..." He promised the foal "Now go back and stand with your mother and your siblings" He instructed, punctuating his remark with a solid shove to his son's rear end with his head to get him moving.

Kaliri giggled slightly at Fairbreeze's remarks..and then recalled that her mother was still standing there looking over the both f them and cast a guilty look over her shoulder. They were supposed to be behaving today they'd been instructed...although she had to admit Falcon was making it way more interesting then it had been. When it was clear Jarita wasn't paying attention - or at least hadn't noticed her giggle she sidled closer to Fairbreeze "I bet he's not allowed to go to the spring or the forest for a while moon cycle!" She told him in a challenging tone, clearly trying to see who could guess the punishment the best.

Kaliri would be right in thinking that Jarita wasn't putting her full attention on the two foals at her side - they were being relatively quiet and staying close which was good enough for her right now - instead she was watching the exchange between her son and his father.

By the look on Eversong's face before he marched after his son it had been clear that he'd said something that had startled the stallion and Jarita was rather worried that this family trouble would infringe on Mercy and her families good-bye.

Cheveyo chuckled slightly at the mare's remarks - of course she would want a party when she returned, if Mercy could be counted on for anything it was her desire to always have a good time. "You can count on it, we'll be counting the days" Cheveyo promised before glancing at the sun. The gathering had gone on for a good length now and if she didn't get going soon she would loose most of the day.

"You had best be off soon" He told the pale mare "Else you' will be late arriving and Ironforge will worry". As it was it was going to take Mercy several days to make the trip to Ironforge's herd and if she stayed much longer something was sure to happen that would either make her feel worse about leaving.

Syrrin arched a brow at his brother "I know what she likes" He told the other stallion with a bit of annoyance in his voice - I mean honestly so he'd said a comment that had upset her...that didn't mean he didn't know anything else about her. Really the filly was just overly emotional today was all..probably within a week or so she'd be back to her old self and completely forget about being mad at him.

To forstall his brother from starting to lecture him about making it up to Lapin anyways he snorted and spoke before the other stallion had the chance "But I'll take her to the stream anyways..maybe for a day trip outside the herd too - that will make her feel special" He stated.

Understanding her sister dilemma...and really how often did she have the chance to just lay beside her sister quietly...Poe snuggled up beside her "Okay" She told her simply, not being a very demanding sort and requiring no more of an explanation then the one her sister had already given Poe was content to just offer her support silently.

Really what else could she say? She couldn't change the fact that her Aunt was leaving and they both already knew that she would be coming back - so repeating that sort of sentiment seemed kind of pointless to repeat at this point. Sometimes one just needed to sit back and sulk a little bit to feel better.

Syn watched as her two youngest children comforted each other and the sight brought a smile to her face. She knew this day would be hard on both of them, heck it was hard on everyone who was present here, but it was something that they had to endure so that Mercy could go out and get some training that she would otherwise never have a chance of getting here. Once Mercy was officially gone she would keep a close eye on the two girls, Lapin more so, just to make sure they were okay and not thinking of doing anything drastic in response to Mercy's absence. Hearing her father's words to Mercy Syn smiled once more. "I thought Mercy causing others to worry was her specialty." She stated in a joking manner, remember all the times Mercy had the entire herd in a panic when she used the ravine to try and learn to fly.

Her face turned more serious for a moment. "But he's right, we don't want you arriving late, best head out soon so you have as much daylight to travel with as possible."

With Poe comforting Lapin Olo stayed where he was, only a few feet from the girls providing them with extra comfort and support in his silent presence. His gaze and attention swiveled to Syrrin for a moment and he nodded to his brother. "Yes, that sounds like a good thing, I'm sure she will enjoy that." But he didn't press it any further, instead he returned his attention to Mercy all the while keeping his ears trained on his two younger siblings as well as ensuring they stayed in his peripheral vision.

Curling up against Poe in an odd moment of quiet and stillness Lapin rested her head beside her sisters. She could still hear the others talking even if she refused to look behind her at the moment. Part of her wanted to watch Aunt Mercy leave but the other part said it would be too hard to watch, so she remained with her back turned to the gathering and tried to come to grips with what was truly happening and how it would affect them in the future. With a sigh Lapin closed her eyes for a moment, Aunt Mercy wasn't going to be gone forever, she had promised to come back, and she still had Poe while she was gone, and Syrrin - well that really wasn't a great point at the moment, and Olo would be around from time to time, and of course there was still mother and grandpa. So perhaps things wouldn't be all that bad with Autn Mercy gone. She would be able to go on any more flying rides for a while, but she would certainly see to getting one the moment Aunt Mercy came home.

Though she was still sad Lapin now realized that this wasn't the end of the world. It would suck, she would probably cry several more times in the next few days, but she would make it through all of this somehow. Opening her eyes once more Lapin chanced a small glance at the others, she was relieved to see that Mercy hadn't quite left yet, for now she felt like it would be okay to watch her go.

Fairbreeze watched the continued exchanged between his brother and father. Falcon sure was pushing all the boundaries not listening to father like that. And a small glance at mother told him she wasn't overly happy with how things were going either. He considered Kaliri's words, so she wanted to bet on what the punishment would be for their brother and how long it would last. Fairbreeze nodded, accepting the challenge then began to think on all that Falcon had done today and what a fair punishment for that was. "I think..." He started out confidently then remembered the look their mother had given Kaliri earlier for saying something and lowered his head and his voice hoping that only Kaliri could hear him.

"I think you might be close there Kaliri. But look at the expression on fathers face. He's not just a little upset with Falcon, he's very upset. And mother doesn't look pleased either. That means with two unhappy parents he is gonna get double punishment. Maybe even more the way he ignored father at first and stepped closer to Mercy." He cast another glance at his brother, father and then mother before his attention turned back to Kaliri. "I bet he isn't allowed to go anywhere without either mother or father there to watch him for three whole moon cycles." He told her with a confident nod, figuring the reasoning behind it explained the length and type of punishment quite perfectly.

Appeal to Falcon's logic? Mercy would have better lucky getting blood from the stone. The hurt look in his eyes when she stated the obvious, however, was pointed. Couldn't she have left that teensy fact out? He was very well aware of his limitations thank you very much. The point of an adventure was to overcome these limitations, but noooooo. He wasn't "ready for it yet".

Fine. Whatever. With his father's forceful push the colt shuffled his way back to his family, head hanging low. The bundle on a stick was all but forgotten on the ground behind him. Falconwing didn't meet either of his siblings in the eye, bracing for whatever words they had ready to spit at him as he went to stand by his mother.

Well he was totally in for it now by the sounds of what his dad said. Great. And this all would've been avoided if he had learned how to sneak better. The colt muttered to himself as he pawed at the ground, too stubborn to give Mercy a proper goodbye.

Hey, he was going down for punishment - wasn't like he could add more to it by keeping quiet.
