Ace stayed quiet for a moment before saying "I understand well enough..." He didn't know what to make of all this. So she was the first....They failed at cloning her...Maybe.. He looked down as thoughts went throw his head, trying to put the puzzle together. What he came up with wasn't pretty. He said "The failed at cloning you when so many times they have done it successfully. That may have been an accident, though those are usually rare in big labs, or...." He let his voice trail off leaving the rest unsaid.

"I am Project Legion, what's left of it," Alyx whispered. "They failed at cloning me because of a mistake or I just can't be cloned. They did everything right and they weren't trying to cause this! They may have torn me from my true mother's belly the second after I was concieved but they were not the kind that would do this to the world. I am not the perfect soldier and Project one was, all they did was tweak the DNA so that it was a male clone of me. The marks those tubes left on me still ache... I can't forget my time in it." She shifted as if she were uncomfortable and she really was. No matter what she did the marks left on her would hurt.

Ace looked at her for a moment trying to decide what to say, he shook his head before saying "They wouldn't want this.." he waved his hand to at the world outside. "Others would've like to see this country burn but not the whole world...I doubt that changing the clone to a male was all they tried to do." he added.

Alyx shrugged. "They tried it another way as well but that failed," She said quietly. "Project Two was what they thought would work since it wasn't cloning. Unfortunately it involved Project Zero and Project One. It failed because of Project One and not me but the result of that experiment..." She shuddered.

Ace looked away, glancing about the place and looking out the small window. He told her "It will be dark soon, I suggest getting some sleep. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." He wasn't sure what to do with the last thing she told him. He stood up and said "I am going to check on how they are doing with the supplies."

Alyx sighed. "You can't guess what they tried to do," she asked quietly. "If it worked they said they'd let me out of the tube and let me walk around for the first time. I didn't even know how to walk or run. I didn't know what there was outside of the lab. They thought that by..." She trailed off, not even wanting to say the word the scientisits used. She was shaking now, remembering what they had told her and what they had done to her. She curled into a ball, trying to block it all out.

Ace stood where he was glancing between the door and Alyx. He shook his head and quietly asked "Do you want to be alone?" He realized this must be tough on her. She's right I can't guess at what they did to her..I don't even want to think about it. She didn't strike him as the kind to freely give up the past.

Alyx sat up. "You don't get what Project two is do you," she asked coldly. "They died before it was done. I was only woken a month ago, when the project was scheduled to begin. It was already planned out and programmed to happen then. They didn't need to be alive for it to happen. The one that released me, she was still alive because of the cure but badly hurt." Alyx was shaking badly. She didn't need to be alone, she needed to be comforted but she didn't know that.

Ace answered quietly "I take it Project two would be a child..." He stood there looking at the floor, he didn't know what to say as this hit him. So much evil done in the name of science....All that they did, and it wasn't enough they had to try and change the human being. They just did one evil too many in trying to create there ideal solider.

"It is a child," Alyx whispered. "I-I wouldn't have agreed to it if I had know all of this would happen but now...it's too late." She shuddered and drew her knees to her chest. She could feel what she guessed were tears falling down her face.

"So Project two is the one that was the first one?" Ace asked. He saw that she had started to cry. Should I try to comfort her or not? She might hate me if I don't, but we hardly know each other. He moved closer to her, deciding that he should try to comfort her some.

Alyx shook her head. "I was first," she whimpered. "One was next. They kept him under control for long enough to get what they needed for Project Two. Project Two was supposed to be executed manually but Project One got loose. The back up plan for Project Two then was activated. When I was woken it was innitiated. It...has yet to be completed. Phase one is done. Phase two...is...in progress... Phase three happens when...when..."

"When what? When you die?" Ace asked as he sat back down in the chair. Something tells me neither one of us will get much sleep tonight. Which will make tomorrow harder. "Is phase two where you return and phase three where you die or project two dies? He asked.

Alyx shook her head. "You don't seem to understand," she whispered. "Project Two...is a monster...and...it's..." She shuddered and whimpered before finishing with, "in me."

Ace's composer slipped as what she said finally hit him. His face showed the horror that was fighting its way out. He fought to remain still, he looked down at the floor fighting to get hold over what threaten to overwhelm him. It took him a long time before he tried to say anything, and when he tried all he could do was open and close his mouth.
