Aurian nodded as the others spoke. She could feel her mouth pulling down at the corners and tried to remove the frown. Invictus had a point that people respected those who made their impressive feats look effortless. But Aurian also thought that people respected those who'd shown their blood, sweat and tears, people who triumphed over great adversity with visible exertion. Aurian liked to know that someone could start at the same level as her and work their way to something better. If that person made it look like problem at all, Aurian would never believe she could do the same. ... She didn't say any of this, of course. She suspected this was a belief of the Conquest Clan. Or at least, of Invictus' family - and Aurian knew better than to try and interfere with either of those things. Aurian was more in line with his belief about enjoying nature. She could smile freely at this point. "I agree. Improving ourselves shouldn't mean trying to be something we're not." Even her Trance vision of a possible future had proven that much - even a powerful and successful Aurian would still be Aurian at her core. Her future self hadn't been the war-crazy warrior that Aurian had first assumed. Accepting the flower from Lacie, Aurian tucked it behind one ear. "Thank you, Lacie!" Aurian hadn't seen the pink blossom before. It must be something native to the island. Aurian liked it, though - a subtle scent and a simple five-petalled form. Things didn't have to be gorgeous to be lovely for what they were - just like people. She blinked several times before smiling at Wylfenne. "Your people have interesting sayings." She wasn't sure about the last one - was an obsession with beauty really such a pure thing? - but again, she wasn't going to pick at the beliefs of another culture. (For one thing, Aurian knew her own people's beliefs weren't always popular. 'Avoid being the centre of attention!', one of the staples of the Shadow People's culture, was unlikely to gain much support from others.) "I'm glad the four of us met here," she said. "Exchanging new ideas is fun." If confusing at times.

It wasn't that Invictus didn't believe that blood sweat and tears didn't have their place in learning a skill, but rather that having had enough practice and worked at it so hard that it became a second nature was a feat in and of itself. It was like listening to somebody play a beautiful piano piece - it sounded easy, but required hard work and diligent to make it appear as simple as it did.
He accepted the flower Lacie brought him and looked over it thoughtfully, brushing his fingers over it delicately. "Thank you." he bowed his head slightly while pondering where it was he would put such a gift at the given time. Ah, no matter. He would figure it out eventually.
"I think... that rather than worrying about building something beautiful - which could be anything, a skill, a bond, things such as that - from the ground up, not enough reflect on that it is easier - and will be much more satisfying - to take what has come naturally and improve upon it in the smallest of ways." he explained his thoughts and what his own logic had been.
Though really, he was getting so many well wishes. He hadn't really come seeking out any sort of support, though it was still nice to be getting such a nice gift.

[ENTERING] Arynek wandered in the isle and saw a big temple. It was a large open shrine which gave a sacred feeling. Being curious, the shadow ghoul went towards the temple. When she finished the few stairs, she immediately spotted something different. The floor was.......somehow uneven, she lowered her head and looked at the floor. The tiles were all engraved, each of them has some..... words(?) on it. " Was this a kind of Conquest ancient language or some charms?" She asked herself. She also noticed that whenever she stepped on them, it made a feeble strange orangish glow. It was just like some sort of musical instrument she saw before, except these tiles couldn't make any sound. Besides the interesting tiles, there was a rectangular lotus pond facing the temple. She stopped and took a look at the blossoming lotus for relaxation. [EXITING] Quote: 1-20: You walk around the first floor and notice how uneven the flooring is. When you look down, you see that each tile has a different engraving on it, with strange characters. Some of them glow in strange hues of orange as you step on them. OOC: You obtain TWO Four Clans points which you can redeem in OOCLY.

Aurian watched Invictus stare at his flower. He didn't seem sure what to do with it. Hoping it wasn't rude, she offered, "Do you want it in your hair? Or your... crown?" Was that a crown? Aurian had no clue. "I could put it in for you without messing anything up. I'm good with hair." Her own buns were unusual, though not as intricate as the young Horseman's hairdo. Aurian was certain she could add one flower without wrecking it. His next set of logic was one that Aurian found herself nodding along to. "Well, you seem quite wise already," she grinned. "So maybe you're not so far behind your father in that." "Besides," she added thoughtfully, "anything is beautiful if someone loves it." Was that too sappy? Too ghouly? Aurian felt her face heating up and she dropped her gaze to the floor. Those were nice tiles, she thought. She could see a different engraving on every single one, no repetition that she could discern. People walked past and Aurian watched the engraved characters flash orange as feet stepped on them. Huh. What a very awesome effect. Aurian completely approved of glowing (especially in the dark). + 2 Four Clans points

"I am not sure my hair would be the best place for it." he confessed, given he did keep it rather groomed and it was currently rather short - however he was growing it out, so he did put forth some effort towards that end of making it look manageable. Still, he offered the blossom to Aurian.
"But if you think you could find a place suitable for it, then by all means." he was open to the idea.

Wylfenne was watching amusedly how Aurien tried to plait the flower into the rather short cut of the Heir. What a nice and cosy scene! 'Shall I be your mirror and judge how it looks like?' they volunteered. The air seemed lighter than before. They cast a glance at the giant statue, and smiled. Despite the rather general and symbolic features - and its evident asymmetry- it had a striking resemblance to Invictus. Or so it seemed in the glimpse of the sun. +1 point

L-Lacie turned white. All the color had drained out of her face. She had only thought about the flower, nothing beyond the tiny gift. How inconsiderate of her to give him something so inconveniencing. It was only Aurian's presence that didn't cause Lacie to prostrate herself on the ground in apology. Although in Invictus's defense, the reaper would have done it to most people.
Although really.. she didn't quite understand everything that Invictus spoke of. She was a bit too simple in nature, to understand such wise, philosophical words.
"Um.." She didn't really know what to do.. watching Aurian fix the flower in the heir's hair, and Wylfenne's observation. She looked elsewhere, for a moment, before noticing the statue in the corner. "Was that always missing?" She voiced her thoughts outloud. How .. unusual of a detail-oriented clan. Unless it was intended to do so? But everything else was symmetrical, wasn't it? Her head looked left to right, and right to left several times, wondering if there was anything else amiss with the place..?

There was something sticking out from a small engraving, the colour odd against everything else. Had someone left this here on purpose?OOC [ Rare item chance! Invictus looked at the statue as attention was drawn to it, frowning. "No. It wasn't." he answered, eyes narrowing a bit as though the fact that it was bothered him to some extreme.
Which it did. Being of a detail oriented clan had a way of making one OCD.((TODAY IS SHORT PACH POST DAY, BROUGHT TO YOU BY SENIOR GALLERY EXHIBITION! ))
