Hmm. The statue in here looked rather familiar. Was that meant to be Invictus...? Malodore tilted its head at the towering visage. It seemed to resemble him well enough, though in its opinion the ears were too large.

Malodore looked wistfully up at the scrolls on the second floor. Hmm. Maybe another attendant would be more amenable to letting it inspect a few scrolls? It ascended to give it a try, but the current Horseman on duty turned it away as gently as before. Darn.

Danny wandered into the temple once more, eager to see if she could maybe burn up a few of those scrolls again. As she wandered the area, she noticed a big, bronze statue in the center. It looked sort of familiar ....
Nah it was no one. She didn't know any horsemen after all! She'd only seen a few of them in the hall- never really talked to any of them.
Moving on.

A few horsemen whispered excited next to her, something about not returning from the human world. Were they going there sometime?
She decided to leave it alone, and continued up the stairs, only to be quickly escorted out by guards again. She'd get those scrolls next time!

This time when he walked in, Roch looked down at the uneven flooring, staring at the characters curiously and wondering how long it took to carve all that. Back home all these pictures would have been considered graffiti, right?

It still wasn't allowed to look at the scrolls. So frustrating! Malodore sighed and tried not to look too wistfully at the knowledge it was being denied.

The ornate detail of the temple was now lost on Israfel as glowing blue eyes zeroed in on the mind flayer. She was close but just out of hugging range. So close, yet so far.

Creeping closer... Riley was in siren trajectory. A small distraction a shiny token might have been, but nope, nope he was Riley zoned. Focused. If he was as focused in his classes as he was on Riley he might have not have failed as hard as he did, but hey.
He'd made it to third year so he didn't suck QUITE that much.

Though the ornate architecture of the building was still breathtaking to view, and Riley had not yet figured out what all of the symbols meant yet, she was still very much interested in them. However, Israfel had been doing a fine job of creeping on her without her noticing it. This was somewhat of a feat, as Riley's observational skills were exceptional, and she did not easily let herself get snuck up on. That fact was about to be proven, as Israfel's wing caught her eye for a split second, before hiding behind a pillar. She recognized it instantly, and narrowed her eyes..

And then she was gone.
Riley had just been standing there, looking up at the ceiling, a moment ago. Not even focus could keep her in sight, as she took a single step to the left, and disappeared into the dark shadow of a pillar. A few moments later, that same shiny glimmer that might have caught Israfel's eye caught Riley's, and she was sneaking closer to it, only to find herself surprisingly behind a hiding, seeking siren.
So she leaned in, ominously, a dark shadow behind him.
A moment later, 22 tentacles and ten fingers were tickling the siren senseless.

One moment she was there, the next woosh. vanished. Gone. Peeking his head out he thought she might have turned a corner, hidden behind a statue or a horseman but no. As the tentacles ran up his side, laughter bubbled out, ruining the silence of the temple. Trying to stifle his laughter he cooed as he realized who it was. "Riley!" Bouncing up as he spun, arms and wings wrapped around her. "I was trying to creep up and surprise you but-" He sighed though his smile remained. "You found me. But, isn't his place really cool? It's so pretty but I have to be quiet and it's very hard." He blushed in embarrassment.
"I keep wanting to ask all the questions."

Riley hadn't expected him to jump into her arms, so she caught him and stumbled back, trying to keep them both up without falling. She stabilized and set him back down on his feet, though any attempt to disengage him would be futile, and she knew it. So she didn't try.
Yes, the place is lovely. And I don't think they mind inquisitive souls, Israfel. You simply need to be courteous about it.

She put Israfel's arm under the crook of her own, and led him down the aisles. A glint caught her eye again, and one of her tentacles reached out, plucking what turned out to be another token of currency, and slipping it into her pocket. Other than the quiet, have you come to enjoy your time here? You know, it's almost over.
