The tentacle beast must not liked being stabbed like it did. Because it soon grabbed him by the leg and was swinging him around upside down.
"AAAAAAAAAAAH! HELP!" he screamed while flailing around. He couldn't hit it like this.

Molly righted herself once more, and blinked as Ami came to defend her from a swipe from the tentacle.
“O..oh! Thank you so much!” With this small break, she was really able to focus as she carefully side stepped around the girl and thrust her lance at the tentacle. “Just hang in there, Deryk!” She cried. “We’ll get you!”

"Like that." Candace groaned, watching Molly go at the tentacle. Hm...the angle of her lance and her body...she could reach..yes. That would work nicely.
"Molly, don't move!" She called out, skating over the ice until she was right behind the girl and putting her hands on her shoulders. She grasped her and pushed herself up, swinging a leg around and using the momentum of her movement to throw herself at the tentacle. Her blade embedded itself in the tentacle's side, and she let it stay that way as she slid down the tentacle, the blade slicing a clean cut until the tentacle threw her away.

Ami nodded at Molly as she ran off to attack, and then faced the tentacle to do the same. She ran in, glaive pointed and jabbed at the tentaclem trying to dodge Deryk. "Eek sorry!" she said, narrowly missing his leg.
Turns out tentacles didn't really liked being stabbed, and it crossed her diagonally in retaliation. Oooops.

Between the attacks of the girls, the tentacle let him go. That was good, but he hit the ground with a bit of a thud.
"Uuugh.. Thanks guysss..." he groaned, a little dazed from the fall. Shaking his head, he pushed himself back up. Right. They had a tentacle monster to finish off. And he had three girls to defend from tentacle rape. Still close to the beasty, he stepped around it and stabbed into it once more.

Molly paused and held perfectly still as she was instructed to.
“Roger!” She looked up as Miss Candace used her as leverage, and watched as she delivered a rather devastating blow to the tentacle. Molly’s face erupted into a wide grin. “Good job, Miss Candace!” She cried in awe, and after the other woman pulled away, she reached out to jab the tentacle again.

Candace was feeling pumped now. She grinned as she skid along the ice again, using its ice spikes like a ladder. Thank you so much for these gloves, Clarice. She tightly grasped one of the ice spikes and swung herself around, her blades slicing off the end of the tentacle and watching as it slammed to the ground. She heard a loud shriek of a roar from the monster that owned the tentacle and she laughed, letting go of the ice spike and letting herself slam to the ground. She was okay with it just this once, as long as her head didn't hit the ice.

Ami didn't bother cheering for Candace (because oh my God how embarassing. Spirit was SO LAME), but she had to admit she was impressed. Vaulting off Molly and using the momentum to hit the tentacle was a stroke of genius. Then again, she did have an intermediate's coat- she'd probably be around the park a few times (IN TERMS OF BATTLES OF COURSE).
With a nod, she slid across the ice and jumped off a tiny ice drift, slamming the point of her glaive into the tentacle. It didn't go all the the way through, but Ami made it far enough to make an impression once she pulled Junpei out.
The tentacle immediately reclined back under the ice, and it was like it'd never been there.
Ami looked around, somewhat surprised that she had done that, and said, "Everybody okay?"

And just like that, the tentacle was defeated. Deryk looked around, hoping more wouldn't spring up, but it seemed that they were fine now.
"Whew. Good work girls. Um. Maybe.. should head back to base? Feeling fine personally but not sure how you guys are doing. Don't want to push luck too much. Don't know if that's last of monster we'll see. Didn't disappear.. just retreated.."
It was making him a little nervous actually. The fact that they hadn't killed whatever the creature was exactly.

Molly was still in awe of Candace as she watched her deliver another devastating blow to the tentacle.
She wanted to be just like Miss Candace when she grew up.
Hey wait…she was twenty-one already! Oops. Molly cheered for Ami as well once the Moonie seemed to deliver the final strike…but seemed dismayed as it didn’t dissipate, but merely slid back down under the ice. She hesitated for a moment before de-summoning her lance. “I’m alright!” She replied, “Y…yeah…I guess we should…you think…the FEAR spikes, the eye and the tentacle might have something to do with whatever it is we’re looking for, though?” She mused, rubbing her chin.

Candace rolled onto her hands and knees, unsummoning Atropos as she stood and laughed. She kicked the tentacle piece she'd chopped off and watched it fall into the abyss below them. "Oh yeah, I feel awesome." She laughed, giving Deryk a thumb's up. "I feel fine, but you're right. That thing is probably way pissed off now so we should get out of here and warn the rest of the hunters about it."
She fixed her coat and scarf, humming cheerfully as she did. She was so happy right now. She'd done well! If only Aria could see how she and Molly had worked together, and how well she had done. Would she be proud? She hoped so. She wanted to make Aria proud. Candace turned, linking arms with Molly and nuzzling her cheek against the girl's. "Proud of you!" She whispered excitedly, smiling at Molly and moving to hold her hand while digging her phone out of her pocket to check the GPS. "It might, though. Whatever it was it didn't want us getting too far." She was already starting to walk back toward where the map said base was, swinging her and Molly's hands lightly between them.

Ami didn't make any comments about the mission or how well it went. Excited emotions were SO immature. Poised and perfect at all times.
"Let's head back," she said, devoid of any longing or desire. She just figured it was a good idea at the time. Especially since she seemed a bit more banged up than the rest of their little motley crew.
She shook her head and said, "Someone's bound to find the pearl, right?"
