The horsewomen Sammy had fought had long since left when Cannon started her small warpath through the tribes. It was probably for the better since she would have had another reason to laugh at the 'corpse' being up shown by a much smaller ghoul.

"Did I just bear witness to something slightly larger then Astra, take down four horsemen?"

"Poison doesn't mean a thing to me my dear, why kill a system that's already dead? Unless of course hunters have a poison that eats at FEAR then I'd say such an analogy means piss for me."

She pointed to Cannon behind the weapon rack, "But if that thing knows how to fight? That can hurt me. Beat on the empty shell long enough and no amount of FEAR will keep me standing."

Purple eyes flickered lazily as they watched the small ghoul, Sammy wasn't quiet as interested, if more so jealous because fighting was the one thing she was truly good at.

At first Sammy didn't notice a change in Riley's attitude, she was still watching others spar in the circles lazy clouds of dust drifting into the air. The lack of response could be chalked up to Riley mauling over poisons that could damage FEAR, eat FEAR, and who knew what else. The mindflayer was always interested in weapons and abilities that could be exploited or defended against.

It was when it continued for a few seconds too long that a flicker of FEAR in Sammy's eyes seemed to focus towards Riley again.

She was checking something wound around her tentacles, a bandage? Riley never usually wore anything like bandages. Even her outfit was a bit off in general but what was she to say about it? She had a giant clock work in her stomach and was probably just hiding that as usual.

It was the eyes that gave it away though as she glanced away towards Shehk. She has struck a chord in what was other wise usually a slightly emotionless, calculating war machine that had currently been experience all the feelings of joy for the clan of war.

"... you alright?"

Sammy looked over at Shehk now nodding slightly. Something was... off but she wasn't going to poke more. Riley seemed to have shut down on her and Shehk was. Being Shehk.

"I'll hang out here a bit more unless Siddie want's to do something I guess."

Sobering up as quickly as possible, she brushed off Sammy's worried query, and gave Siddie a gentle pat of affection. I'm fine. Sorry. I was just.. What do people usually zone out about? I was thinking about Malodore. It distracted me. I'm fine, really. She gave Siddie a squeeze, to assure her that the moment was over.

I should, ah.. I think perhaps I will head back to the dorms to check on it. Then, ahh, then, I wish to explore this entire place. We should all take a look around, at your leisure, of course. She was almost glad they'd decided to stay behind; it gave her time alone in the dorms, free to change her bandages without any questions. This was not the right venue to be exposing herself - the last thing she wanted was expulsion from this wondrous place.

Very nice. Someone murmured inside Canon's head. Very nice, indeed.

Canon's eye threatened to pop out of her head. Was this? Could the Purple One communicate mind to mind? Fascinating! How did she do this? Well, if one didn't have a mouth, you'd have to learn to communicate somehow. Skarks certainly had, though their solution still produced audible sound.

Another thing she noticed. She was not hiding very successfully. All four of the ghouls seemed to be perfectly aware of her. However, from what she could tell, most of them seemed to approve of her sparring. Canon's eyelash antennae curled up with pleasure at the thought. This was the best student exchange program ever!

She popped out from behind the rack long enough to wave and yell "Thank you!" before resuming cover. Proper scientific observation called for as little interaction as possible. But there was no point in being rude. She was a little anxious when the Purple One's mood seemed to darken, though Canon didn't think it had anything to do with her. She hoped.

Just then, the dog ghoul left, and Canon immediately checked to see if the others looked like they were going to go, too.

Perhaps you will come out of hiding there, my friend?

Oh. Oh! She was doing it again! Canon paid close attention to this communication. Her neurons wanted to believe that she was hearing the soft voice, but it was clear she wasn't actually hearing any physical source of sound. It wasn't until she saw the Purple One leaving that Canon actually paid attention to the content of the message.

She immediately broke cover and scampered after her, sparing a brief wave to the other two ghouls as she passed them. She took temporary cover behind a low branch, fully in view to everyone on the platform, which probably made it very clear exactly who she was trying to tail.

Indeed, as the Purple One continued down the path, Canon could be seen darting from hiding spot to hiding spot, staying as close as she dared.

[Exiting]

The next opponent that came into Shehk's circle was quick to move - even quicker than Shehk was, stepping in with her staff and bringing it up hard against the pricolici's knee.

Shehk sunk onto said knee, wincing in pain before the Horseman she was in battle with swung and smacked the staff right across her face, causing Shehk to roll out of the circle and the staff she held to roll away from her.

Damn.
