That was something he was having a little bit of a hard time grasping still. Getting attached to anyone had more or less been considered a weakness prior. It showed that he was soft. In general, a lot of things he was being told while at the school were fairly different from how things were before.
"..Yes. There has been an influx of new students I've noticed. That, and there were quite a few strangers lingering from the trials. It won't be too different for me though. I'm not the most trusting person around. And.. quite frankly, a part of me is surprised a lot of you guys still trusted me even after hearing of my connections."

"Because you're too honest," She giggled, "Sure, there was the risk that you might betray us instead, and sell us off to the mafia to be shipped off to the hunters, but something told me that you wouldn't do that. There was that he supposed. He tended to be pretty up front about things like that. It wasn't really hard to tell if he had issues with a particular person or whatnot.

"You are welcome," She smiled - perhaps the first genuine smile she had given the whole day, before pausing, looking somewhat unsure of herself, "Quick question... Do you appreciate it when Mitsu tells you whatever is bothering her, instead of keeping it to herself in fear that it might affect you?"

Taking his glass once more, Shun went ahead and drank a little more. Lizzy had given him a few things to think about in the very least. He'd have to meditate on it later on. Though, there was soon a slightly curious look in his eye as she tossed a question back at him.
"I do. Though, we have a bit of an agreement in a way. No secrets. For a long time I kept my family activities away from her.. wanting to protect her. Though I was foolish to think I could do that forever. It eventually reached a point where I had to speak up and.. while the news was daunting to her I think the fact that I kept it from her for so long hurt more."

"No secrets, huh..." She would... Like that. Oddly enough, she never used to keep anything from Mac - normally he was the one keeping things from her - but nowadays, the situation had reversed somehow. He had become more honest, but she found herself keeping certain things from him, "That... Does make sense. I would be upset too, if Mac kept something that important from me..."
She fidgeted with the edge of her dress before seeming to make her mind up about something, "And you would feel upset too, right, if you were in her position? And she kept things from you?"

Shun thought that over for a little bit, trying to place himself in Mitsu's shoes. If she was trying to go off and do things on her own without telling him, he would be unhappy with her for sure.
"I believe I would. But yes.. we're supposed to be in this together now," he replied before eyeing Lizzy fairly critically. If she was asking him this, it most likely meant she was keeping something from Mac and was now feeling guilty for it. For now, he didn't say anything on this.

Noticing the way he was looking at her, she looked sheepish, "It's time for me to follow my own advice..." She didn't say more as she changed the topic, "You're going for the exchange program, right? Be careful... I feel that Halloween is... Stuck in the middle of something, and the Horsemen plays a part."

At that comment, Shun just nodded. He wasn't going to press into it seeing how it was an issue between her and Mac. In any case, the topic got switched up and his expression changed back to its neutral state.
"It does sound that way, from what Stacey said. But don't worry. I will be sure to watch my back... as well as others," he said. He already knew he wasn't going to be in the same classes as Mitsu, as they had signed up for other things. But if he was around her, he was definitely going to do what he could to keep her safe.
"I take that as you're staying behind then."

"I am," She nodded, sighing softly, "I have... A few things to do here. I'm a little sad though... I would like to see where the Four Clans live for myself, but I guess it can't be helped. At least Mac would be staying behind, so it's not like everyone's going!" Most people are though... So hopefully she'll still be kept in the loop through texts and what not.

Well, if the two of them were staying behind, they certainly had time to sort out whatever it was that was going on. If it was going to be brought up at all at least. Shun nodded quietly to her then went ahead and finished his drink. With the glass empty now, he set it lightly onto the table.
"Well, perhaps things will at least be quiet around here," he said before pausing.
"Was there anything else you wanted to know regarding.. the mission?"

"I doubt so," She giggled, "I heard that Jericho will be staying behind and it's not his specialty to be quiet. Although yes, the school itself will probably be really quiet."
Pausing to think, she then shook her head, "No... Not really. I think that's all... At least with the body gone, there's no evidence of what we did."

Hm. Yes the dragon was a rather loud one for sure. Shun had to wonder if it was possible for the guy to be quiet in general. A part of him was thinking that it wasn't.
"Indeed. It's something we'd have to take into consideration. I'm sure that wasn't going to be the last time," he said. While he didn't have plans to go around killing people, he was more than certain a time like this would come again. As far as he was concerned, they were in a war right now. Casualties were going to happen.

Shun nodded quietly to Lizzy.
"That sounds good to me. Though, don't forget.. my room is open to you should you ever need a listening ear yourself," the Reaper noted before slowly standing up. The offer had been made several months ago when he found her distraught with heartbreak, but it was something that still existed for her.
