" You and I both know that if Ethan were here, you'd have asked me to distract Lock long enough for you to take the orange-eating boy." Although he laughed, Ellery's perpetually energetic eyes betrayed a flash of sadness, his chest hurting. He dismissed it as the wounds themselves aching and set his hand back on his lap, staring forward as the lights up above started to flash. " Five minutes until it's time for the performance. Oh, I'm so excited! Hah, I'm pretty sure I've already said that."

Fredrich Waltz
In this world, one cannot say anything without proof to back them up.Fredrich chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. " Is it that obvious?" he smirked and looked back at the stage when the lights flashed. But was it really that obvious? He had to wonder about it. He loved Ethan, he loved him so much, yet lately that flame of passion had dimmed. Perhaps he was starting to accept defeat from Han, disgusting as it sounded. A small smile spread across his lips when he heard Ellery gush about the performance. " Hmm, it reminds me of when I was about ten, and my parents would take me to see The Nutcracker. I hardly remember the play, but I remember that warm, excited feeling I had." He glanced over at the songwriter. " Did you ever get the chance to see a play with your parents?" he asked, hoping it wasn't a touchy subject. Without proof, you'll never catch me.

" Mother and Father tried to take me while she was pregnant with my sister, but I was so young, I barely paid attention. She died about a month later, and that was one of our last big family outings, so Father didn't much care to take me out to see another one. That is, until he met Stepmother. She insisted that a young, talented man like me be further introduced to the arts. By the time I was thirteen, she would take me and Anna to the opera and the stage every other week, even to see the same operas. Basil never went, since he didn't like the loud, high tones too much, and Father found it hard to go, since Mother loved the opera herself, but I really liked it. It was nice to have Stepmother and Anna all to myself for a moment." Ellery never looked at Fredrich as he spoke, eyes filled with memories and long-forgotten sadness. " That last outing, we saw The Lion King, and I loved every second of it. Somehow, I think she knew it was the last time she'd see me, since she picked that to see. It's about finding who you are, and learning to forgive yourself for things out of your control." Looking up at him, the emerald-eyed beauty smiled sadly. " I don't think it's wise for either of us to talk about our families to each other," he said, his voice soft, as if he were speaking a secret.

Fredrich Waltz
In this world, one cannot say anything without proof to back them up." Don't be so judgmental, Ellery. I'm not in love with her. I'm attracted to men, remember? But it doesn't mean that I can't admire beauty." Fredrich smirked to himself while drinking more of his - or Ellery's - beer. Without looking at the songwriter, he pulled a handkerchief out of his coat's breast pocket and used it to wipe some hot chocolate off the younger male's chin. " At least give it time to cool down." he chastised lightly, leaned down to be eye level with Ellery and focus better on cleaning him up. When he was done, he put the handkerchief back into his pocket and, still wearing the stern expression, he held up a sugar packet in front of Ellery's face. " Here, put this on your tongue. It helps with burns." he advised. Without proof, you'll never catch me.
