"Hayaku toiteeeee," the princess pleaded, "I'm so kowaiiiii, trainee-chan, iyaaaa---."

It was the first time Reine thought she'd rather speak to Justin. Especially when Allan was speaking in his normal, low voice, just much, much whinier.. and more princessy.

"Tasuketeeeeeee trainee-chan!!!"

She was practically gasping, it was hard to breathe, even as she heard the 'click' of the manacle coming free. Best to get this over and done with. The bad part, however, was Princess Allan jumping into her arms and wrapping his arms around her neck.

It had been worth it, coming back into the tower. So worth it.

It was hard to see past all the frills of Princess Allan's dress, and hard to concentrate, especially when he.. she.. he was rambling all the while about bankai and nakama and the strength of your spirit and whatnot.

At least he fell silent after a loud 'kyaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!', following the triggering of another trap.

She just hoped he'd keep quiet longer.

Halfway through, halfway through. She could do this!

And then Allan started singing.

She might have used violence as a means of keeping Allan quiet. Unfortunately, the golem recovered quickly enough from being whacked on the head, and started up another conversation about shinigami and hollows.

Was he trying to be helpful, giving her hints about the shadowlings, even encouraging her? It seemed like it to Princess Allan, who probably just wanted to help his 'prince' as much as he could.

Reine just willed him to shut upppppp. At least, if she could carry Robert through this, Allan should be a little easier..

And finally, out. The moment they exited, Princess Allan threw himself out of her arms, and then hugged her, and kissed her on the cheek before prancing away and yelling GETSUGA BUSTERRRRRR.

Weirdest experience of her life, bar none. At least, Robert was gone from where she'd left him, which meant Jordan had taken him to the infirmary. Reine smiled, the tiredness starting to catch up with her. Now this was done... time to report back to Caelius.

She'd gone back through to save him.

She'd called for backup, and headed back inside, even though she was injured.

And then.. Robert watched as Reine went through obstacle, after obstacle, after obstacle.. without blinking so much as an eye.

A mixture of feelings went through the man as he watched his old best friend hurtle her way through barriers to succeed where others could not. At first, he felt a sense of amusement that Cael had fallen so soon. Then again, he had no weapon, but still. Caelius. Reine just showed up Caelius. A surge of pride then filled him, and he puffed his chest up. Just as quickly, it deflated as he realized that, if he had run the course, he would have failed even more miserably than weaponless Caelius had.

It almost felt like Reine was living the life he'd wanted.. again. And a sense of real dread clutched his heart as he realized it.

But there she was, bursting victoriously through the tower and heading back up to him. Like a boss. Like the girl who'd come home every once in a while and made him live again. And just as easily, he fell into that same old trap, where all of his worries and dread fizzled away when she returned.

Completely forgetting whose body he was in, Robert burst through the doors and jogged over to meet her, wrapping his arms around her and flinging her up in a hug, cuddling her shamelessly while swinging her around over, and over, and over.

"YOU DID IT! I SAW THE WHOLE THING, IT WAS AMAZING-"

Memory slammed back into him when he saw his hair fluttering in her face, and he set her back down on her feet, staring at her with horror etched in his eyes. He paled, and quickly returned to the closest to a neutral face as he could get.

"I mean. Uh. Good work. I guess."

Pathetic.

Reine broke.

... at the Mist tower - Jordan blinked, raised an eyebrow, and headed off to go drag Robert to the infirmary. Or "Robert," if things were still in the same state that he'd been notified of this morning. Either way, it was his friend's body that had gotten banged up, no matter who was inhabiting it at the moment, and he wasn't going to let that go unattended.

By the time Reine had finished the tower and returned with Princess Allan, "Robert" was off to the infirmary.

Robert didn't have to be a genius to realize he'd made a mistake. He waved his hand in front of Reine, over and over, but there was no response.

"Reine? Err, just.. you're dismissed. Okay? Go.. away."

Robert couldn't stand around, waiting for Reine to realize what had just broken her. She'd snap out of it eventually.. and maybe she'd forget what had happened. He patted her shoulder and watched her carefully even as he strolled away, whistling an innocent tune.

"Hey, Kelly," she replied, moving ahead in the line, and very pointedly asking for only a salad, please. "I heard the same about you, but I guess it's just all that hair gel weighing you down. Glad to see your daggers are as tiny as they were, though. Some things never change, huh?"

*

"So what're you naming the baby? Liam Junior?"

She couldn't help chortling, though, at 'a pair of missions'- really? "Yeah, I'm sure those missions just couldn't keep themselves off you. Sure you've got free time to eat lunch with me?"

It wasn't so much as waking up in an unfamiliar room that bothered Caelius but rather the unfamiliar body, and the unfamiliar memories. It didn't register at first what it was, was the voice a dream? It wasn't anyone he remembered, and he hadn't actually dreamed since-

-The fan hummed in the Life hospital room above him, as people walked by muttering, ten, a hundred, ten-hundred things seemed to be happening and invading his senses and overly saturated in colour and noise everywhere, he was very well aware of how much pain this body was still in. He was still, in appearance, 'Robert', and the effect of how lousy Robert was was beginning to take its toll.

The body hurt, the pain hurt and probably stung, the ridiculous near-death experience with some basic primitive traps - though a certain Life Assistant would probably be very offended if she heard about that particular comment - the worst part was the knot that seemed to occupy his usual apathy.

For a second, he couldn't even remember who he was and simple struggled to sit up, staring at the curtain, the small space allotted to trainees that wrapped around the bed.

Reine was all of the confuse.. just.. all. By the time she'd managed to recover from Caelius'.. surprise attack he was already gone, and all she was left with, really, were the scratches from shadowlings, the pain in her stomach from laughing too hard at Allan, and a few other miscellaneous injuries..

Her mind was still blanking, but when she moved to stand up, her palm was red with blood-- and then she remembered Robert. Oh snaaaaap.

It didn't take long to reach the infirmary, from where she was- personally, she was sure that the building was structured on purpose, considering all the.. injuries people sustained. Reine burst through the door, looking frantically at all the beds, until she found him. They'd cleaned him up, at least, and patched him up.

Reine flung her arms around her, though she did try to be gentle.

"Bobby, you're alive, thank god."

He just very slowly, numbly, patted Reine on the back, entirely dazed, still coming to terms entirely with where exactly he was and what the ******** had happened.

'Oh yeah that was a shame, I was hoping on the dying part. Guess wishes only come true in Spooky tales.'

The voice didn't register at all first and in fact, he did a rather good job of ignoring it, instead focusing on the basics. A deep breath. Focus on this person, focus on-

- Everything else came back relatively easier, once he remembered what exactly had happened, that his status effect had really not been cleared which meant that no, he wasn't Robert, or apparently, Bobby, and he really had no reason to be at any sort of close proximity with Reine. As stiffly as he could, he pushed the trainee away. "I'm not Robert."

'Oh good job' The high-pitched tone turned sour. 'As if that'll work.'

"Yes you are," she frowned, and pushed him back on the bed. Even if they'd patched him up, maybe there was some sort of longer-lasting mental damage, she wouldn't be too surprised considering what had happened just now.

"What's gotten into you, seriously? You and.. Caelius both." Sighing, she moved to sit beside him on the bed, and patted his forehead.

"Just rest, you'll be okay."

And then she made a mental note to have a psychologist check him out later. Just in case.

And suddenly he remembered that he really did not take to insubordination well at all. Everything else was too easy, a matter of patterns, of the same routine for years and years. After a while, things got easier to take for granted.

"I," he finally managed to growl out, batting Reine's hand away, "Am not Robert, and if you so much as ******** touch me again, trainee, perhaps we should reconsider whether or not your experience in the pod had any long-term effect on your unfortunate behaviour. In fact, it is because of Robert that I am current in this godforsaken hospital, and he is somewhere still out there in my ******** body."

The fact that Robert had nearly killed him was also beginning to get the better of the Death Hunter Leader (in disguise). Granted, he was pretty sure Robert was going to do something stupid, but the fact that Caelius had pretty much walked right into that ******** trap-

- He squeezed the blankets very, very tightly and tried to think of something that would not involve throwing tray tables and items all over the place to assuage his very well deserved anger. A very small part of him was also beginning to grow surprisingly alarmed that he was losing his edge, not just physically, but mentally.

There was a shrill scream, followed by a couple of loud "shhhhhhhh"s, and the crash that was one extremely, extremely mortified trainee falling off a hospital bed.

She did not even dare to get up off the floor, simply listening to.. oh god, chills down spine... Caelius, as he explained. Suddenly everything made sense, like why 'Caelius' had been shirtless, why he couldn't spell, why he'd lifted her up and swung her around...

Reine kept her arms around herself, hugging herself very tightly, she was practically hyperventilating, oh god, all the things she'd done today. And Robert. Robert had screwed with her instead of just telling her straight to her face what had happened. Either Caelius' body was going to get a punch to the face, or she would wait until somehow they sorted this out.

Caelius' body. Suddenly the mental image of him shirtless came back, and Reine curled up tighter.

This was too much to process.

"Sir," came a small, shaky voice, from under the bed. "Is there anything I can do?"
