Post 143 To match that Sunstone, Chael dug up a Moonstone. Well it evolved some nifty Pokemon so he'd probably hang on to it. Back to digging. He'd give himself today for training. Post 145 A Croconaw? "Shock Wave." Chael said. It looked wild, so it could be use for a trade hopefully. Lizzy ran foward and send loose a bolt of lightning but... it did nothing? In the Croconaws place was a Golett! It stomped the floor, leaping at the zebra before punching her with a Shadow Punch! Lizzy flinched as Argos shot a Water Gun at the monster. Soon it was a Blitzle! It shook off the water and sent out a Shock Wave, growing him back. "What are you?!" Chael demanded to know as it morphed into a Timburr and beat Tsuki and Fear. That was it. Argos, Lizzy, and Epsilon shot out a Water Gun, Shock Wave, and Mud Slap respectively. The tri attack seemed to be enough to weaken it. In a moment of rushing, Chael threw a Pokeball. Mid shake, dust got in his face. Checking his team, he saw he had a full party. Did he catch it? Nolan had been so dead tired after winning his first gym battle that falling asleep that evening was no harder than falling onto a pillow. Healed and back to his chipper self, Valor insisted on sleeping at Nolan's feet, and Servine soon disappeared after dinner - only reappearing after her trainer was away in Dream World. That morning, he switched Honor back for Dosu, and having an epiphany, Nolan bought some specific supplies with what little remained of his cash on hand. But now he finally could do something about running low on funds. At the crack of dawn Nolan packed up and left the pokecenter and Blyse. He took the path through Route 1 and 2 rather slowly, Valor and Servine walking with him, and he got past the checkpoint to travel into Gabron Ruins. Not knowing exactly what to expect, he first scouted out the area as best as he could from the entrance. Something about this area was already giving him the creeps, and he couldn't quite make his legs move. "Um, well, maybe someone will let us borrow a shovel or something ...?" The Luxio tilted his head to one side, staring up at Nolan quizzingly. Servine, just the same as she was as a Snivy, rolled her eyes and sighed. She had caught on pretty quickly what was going on here in the Ruins, and she quickly it to Valor with a few curt sounds, saving Nolan the trouble. But to Nolan's alarm, Valor got caught up in the excitement of the hunt, and ran off to find something in the Great Item Search! Both the Grass Snake and Nolan ran after the Spark cat, and Valor thought this was an even better game to play. He was soon yowling happily and dodging every which way. Nolan had to stop to catch his breath after several minutes of this game of chase, and leaning up against a cave wall, he was bent over and gasping for air. Looking up, it was Servine who first found something. She dusted away some pebbles, revealing a strange orange box like object. Nolan just hoped it wasn't someone's trash, and he picked up the Protector. Well, it didn't look like Valor would run out of sight, and while he was here, Nolan might as well get to searching for his quota today. Post 146 Chael scratched his head. Well... that was a weird experience. He had fought his entire team in one Pokemon. What the hell was that? More importantly, did he catch it? Well, he'd see later. Noticing Nolan, he said "Here." as he headed over a shovel. Argos noticed the Servine. Looks like he wasnt the only starter that had evolved. He made a low growl as a wild Pokemon approached him. "What ...?" Nolan at first only saw the shovel being handed to him, and then slowly followed the growling noise he heard down to the blue and white gator. Then he recognized Chael and got a look at most of his pokemon. Nolan stood up straighter, swiping his sweat dampened hair back, and he accepted the shovel. "Oh, thanks. I didn't expect to run into anyone out here so soon." But it was Nolan's pokemon who were having too much fun with this treasure hunt type of game. Valor thought he found something interesting, and he bounded back to his trainer with a pale stone in his mouth. Nolan had to resist facepalming, because it looked like his Luxio had just found a regular rock. He'd just have to politely take it, and he pet Valor's black mane, praising him for his hard work. Nolan put it in his bag, thinking he would just get rid of the useless rock later, not knowing that Valor had really brought him an Oval Stone. Post 147 Whatever had been annoying Argos left with his growling. Chael shrugged. "I've been running back as forth here ever since yesterday morning." he confessed, taking a look at his team. Pretty decent, he would probably have Nolan get the Magikarp out of the ruins, seeing once they evolved they got kind of... destructive? Yeah, that was the word. His other Pokemon were being lazy and taking the break gratefully. Argos stayed ever faithful beside however. Another wild Pokemon passed, catching his attention. Not realizing how lucky his first haul had been, it was Servine that again uncovered a prize, disturbing a Sandile in the process. One good Vine Whip, with real honest-to-goodness vines this time, and the Sandile was sent running. She hefted the Sun Stone and waddled over to Nolan with the orange and red stone. All in the first ten minutes, Nolan had found everything he'd get today. He really didn't know how lucky he was. "I guess I didn't really need the shovel after all. Chael, right? I remember your pokemon from before. I guess things have been going really good for you, since you're here and all. Yeah?" Felt like a stupid question, because obviously Chael already got his badge, or he couldn't be here. And it was a stupid question, because the chills Nolan was getting made him just want to get the heck out of Dodge. Or at least, he wanted to escape from the Ruins now that he got his items. His Luxio, sensing his trainer's nervousness, came to stand by Nolan's side protectively, wanting to be awesome just like Argos. Servine was surveying the area with a haughty sniff, not really caring what the humans were talking about. "So, you've been here a lot. Um ..." How was he going to word this without sounding crazy? Post 148 Chael almost raised an eyebrow. Was he really that intimidating? He was eleven and this guy looked older but he looked like he wanted to run the heck out of there. Weird. "Yeah, I manged to trade some of the items I got for some more supplies." he responded, as Argos puffed up his chest, attempting to be awesom er than the Luxio. This wouldn't end well for the cat or the alligator as Fear rolled her eyes and inspected the area they were at. Before, they were outside but they seemed to have entered some kind of building. Scratching his head, Chael answered "I met this really weird Pokemon just before you came here. I don't even know what it was but it could turn into my entire team. I threw a Pokeball but I'm not sure if I caught it and it's in the PC or not." In truth it had taken all of them to attack at once to even weaken it. He didn't know what it was but he really hoped it was his now. Yup, now Nolan looked absolutely petrified, even though he was trying his best not to let it show. A pokemon that could transform into other shapes? Sounded like a ghost pokemon ... almost, and they could smell fear. Or did it? No Ghost pokemon he's seen has ever changed into other pokemon. And even though Ditto were native to Kanto as well, they were rare enough that Nolan had never come across one before. (Or maybe he had but they were transformed at the time, he wouldn't know better.) "Did ... you think to use your pokedex on it? Well, you can always look around for your pokeball if it broke out. And if it's gone, well, yeah, then it'll be in the PC. That's what happened when I caught my Hippopotas." Valor thought Argos was even more awesome now! It wasn't as though the Luxio was attempting to compete with the Croconaw, instead, he just wanted to show off exactly like the gator. There was a difference to the Spark cat. Valor shook his mane to make it more fluffy and charged it with static. If Luxio wasn't already interested in battling, he would make a fine Contest pokemon. All this showboating came naturally to him, and it was all incredibly fun. He was happy. Post 149 Argos let himself breath out. He really didn't way to choke himself as he breathed out deeply. No kidding, if Croconaws could know Gust, then this one totally would. "I... didn't actually think to use my Pokedex. At the time I was kind of rushing." he admitted, mentally face palming. Using the Pokedex would've been a good idea. Oh well, he'd see if he caught it later. Now all he had to worry about was getting that Zorua. Tsuki walked to Valor, tiling his head. That was ONE big kitty. The fox-ish Pokemon let out a normal bark, neither aggressive or passive. He just wanted to find out when he'd get that big! His trainer planned on him being an Espeon, yes pink, but still cool. The more he thought about it, the less likely it could have been really a Ghost pokemon. Yet again, there were tons of pokemon out there he had never seen before. Valor meowed in his funny way, saying hello excitedly to the Eevee, and that tough look he had been working on was dropped entirely. Nolan relaxed a little more. Things certainly were different than when he lived in Lavender Town. He had pokemon with him now. "Well ..." Nolan was still trying to understand what Chael had caught. "Let's go check if your pokeball is still there. It's a much shorter walk than going all the way back to Blyse, right? Where were you when you first found it?" Valor was just the most friendly thing. Even though he was getting to be a big cat, he still was just a little kitten in mentality, and he pawed Tsuki's long ears playfully. He had evolved much sooner than his wild cousins because of his trainer.
