~Yuuka Kazami~
"I've lived here for as long as I can remember. It may not be as...excessive...as that Devil's place, but it serves my purposes. As for the vines, it's unfortunate that you won't be able to absorb as much from them as I can, but they will hold until you can receive proper treatment."
A thought occurred to Yuuka. Remembering what began this all, she turned to leave. "If you'll excuse me..." She disappeared through a door way for a few minutes, returning shortly thereafter with a silver tray - resting atop this tray were two cups of tea and a plate with a small loaf of bread, cut in half. From the aroma it gave off, one could tell the bread was quite fresh. She placed the tray down on a small end table beside the couch, and Ibara. "Perhaps this will help effect a speedy recovery. Please, eat your fill."
Taking one of the cups, Yuuka sat down beside Ibara again. "...After all, I still have work to do. I can't babysit someone like you all day." Yuuka was confused, and that annoyed her. Why was she treating a trespasser to food, of all things, after losing to her moments before?

"The Scarlet Mansion is too much, actually, huge beyond need," Ibara waved her hand," It's a place built for excess."
"Ah?" Ibara blinked as Yuuka disappeared through a door. The patient girl waited, and indeed, her patience was rewarded, as Yuuka entered with a tray of fresh bread and delicious tea. "Oh~" Ibara had pretty muh skipped her meals, all she had in her stomach were a few swings from her flask (which was prett much the sun buckle of her second belt.) "This smells delicious, thank you." With a smile, she took a piece of bread and nibbled on it, looking like she was takin her time with it, to later take a sip of the tea. "Boy, that warms up your stomach, and in no way sake can-" Ibara grinned, she had never been much for tea, but it seemed the above ground had many more delicious flavors!
"Hehe, I can take care of myself~" The bartender chuckled,"Despite common belief anyway!"
"Oh, I guess you work in you garden all day," She tilted her head,"Its a very large and beatiful garden, it must take a lot of work to keep it in tip-top shape."

"If I didn't tend to these flowers, they would eventually wither and die, and their beauty would be lost*." Yuuka said thoughtfully before taking another sip. "It is a lot of work, but it keeps me busy." She looked out a nearby window, the afternoon sun setting her garden ablaze with lush, full colors. "I don't get many visitors, and those who do come generally cause trouble." Her gaze seemed to wander beyond the garden, perhaps further. "It's... usually best... to eliminate such nuisances as quickly as possible, before they can harm anything."
Who was she trying to fool, herself or the girl? She liked Ibara's company. But such a proud, aged Youkai would not dare admit that to herself, let alone to anyone else. No, all she needed was her garden, and her flowers to tend to.
((*Yuuka's power, as described by the touhou wiki, is the "ability to the extent of manipulating flowers". Upon reading this, I had come to the conclusion a long time ago that Yuuka constantly used her powers to keep the Garden of the Sun alive, and in full bloom, even during off-seasons. Might not be canon, but it sounded good to me~))

"Well I understand why," Ibara said looking out to the garden tryin to follow Yuuka's gaze," As i said, its impressive, one of a kind, if someone came and destroyed it, that would a shame!"
"I suppose its hard to find company when most don't appreciate the beauty of this garden," The bartender paused to take a sip of the tea she had been given," For me its the opposite, drunks come and flow the bar, bt few are worth the time. They only talk of leecherous things and their own issues...Its home all over again."
"Have you kept track of how long you have been out here, Miss Kazami?" The girl looked to her host curiously, it was obvious Yuuka had been here for a long time.
((Yup, it sounds about right ^_^ ))

Ibara's question hit home, hard. Just how long has she lived here? Just how much time has she spent alone? The closest thing she's had to a "friend" in the recent years were some of those involved with the Incident of Flowers not long ago.
"Long enough to witness white cherry blossoms." Yuuka said, responding to Ibara's question in cryptic fashion. "Some might say I've lived too long."
"Now, it's your turn, Miss Oni. Yes, I know you're an Oni, and I have no doubt you hide your horns under that hat of yours. Nothing but your kind possesses that kind of raw physical strength. So tell me, why did you leave the underground, where your kind belongs?"

"You only live too much once you begin to question your exsitance~" Ibara smiled at Yuuka.
Now it was the oni's turn to be a bit taken aback. "Ah..."
Her smile turned sheepish, she pulled a hand up and took her hat off. Before moving to remover the headband. Indeed, there where the stumps of what used to be proud oni horns back in the good days,"Not that I left by choice, I was kicked out."

This shocked Yuuka noticeably - her grip on the cup threatened to break it. Sure, she had broken her fair share of horns during her many encounters over the years, but to have something like that done to one by their own kind...
After a pause, Yuuka managed to speak. "You must have done something awful to deserve that. I don't think I've ever seen an anomaly like you before...an Oni without her horns." Once again, she hid her concern behind cold words.

"I...Well...Uhm-" Ibara seemed to tense up as she tried to find a way to explain what had happened,"no- the-they weren't taken by the oni...Rather-"
Ibara tried to find her words, finally after a short pause tha seemed to last an eternity, she said,"One of them was lost in a fight, and after my exile I just made them even."
A short description that seemed to be ripped out of her heart, even if it was brief and ambiguious.

"I'm... sorry." Ibara's answer had obviously been very difficult, dispite its simplicity. Yuuka couldn't help but feel the sting of her own words in retrospect; she may have lost a simple fight in her garden, but it seems this girl has lost so much more.
"Are you finished?" Yuuka asked, noticing the bread still in Ibara's hands. "If you're still not well enough, you can...stay here until you can return home."

"What happened was my fault no need to be sorry." Ibara sigher with a remorseful shrug, she had given the stub of her old horns a small tap of sorts. She shook her head and covered them with the head band. Politely replacing her hat, she looked a bit towards the tea cup, then down at her piece of bread.
With a last sigh she set the bread down, suddenly losing her appetite. "I will be on my way soon..." Once more her spark, as Yuuka called it, flickered out. She seemed a bit dazed, fearing Yuuka would now think of her as a sort of criminal or awful monster.
In her own chronic problems, the barteder reached to one of the two buckles, pulling out a flask from one of them. She, much to her dislike, took a swing from it. It seemed she contemplated putting it away, but instead just took another, smaller drink from it.

"No one should have to bear their sadness alone, be they human, or Youkai." Yuuka placed her hand behind the oni's neck, pulling Ibara's head into her shoulder in a slight embrace. Against her better judgement, Yuuka hoped this show of affection would help to calm the girl.
"Tell me, who or what took your horn? Tell me, and I'll take revenge in your stead. I'll settle your past for you, so that you may fight proudly with all your strength once more. Because... my revenge on you won't be as sweet if you can't put all of your heart into it."

"..?" Ibara blinked as she was pulled into the hug, completly unsure of how to react to Yuuka's small sign of affection.
".....If it was that easy-" Ibara sighed," The one who took my one horn is...Dead. I killed her. And she isn't getting up. The others," she paused to think," They were doing what they thought was best."
With Yuuka's small sign of affection, the oni convinced herself to put her flask away.

"Then you're admitting they were right by continuing to dwell in sadness." Yuuka replied, still holding Ibara close. "An Oni must be strong and sure of herself, otherwise, they're useless. Our duel earlier has proven your worth to me; you still have much fight left in your spirit. Though I...may not be the best person to explain this."
She watched as Ibara fastened the flask to her belt. "And besides, Oni drink for pleasure and relaxation. Only pathetic humans fall victim to such vices."

"Ah, maybe I do, but standing infront of a mirror and staring a a face that resembles nothing like that of my kind, do you know how hard that is?" Ibara looked up at Yuuka, once again removing the hat and the head band. "See? I am no oni. My horns are so damn cut, you can hardly see them. I just hide my shame. I am not worthy of being an oni."
She lookd down at the buckle,"I try not to drink, because its what brought all this on me. I wouldn't pretend to not be an oni if it wasn't this easy."

"You can't change what you are, no more than you can change the color of the sky, or the taste of honey. But you can change who you are. Mistakes teach us right and wrong, and only by learning that can we become better beings because of it." Yuuka combed her fingers through Ibara's hair, staring back at the girl.
"Have you learned from your mistake?"
