Alex saw the vaisel moving towards him, and might have scooted back a fraction, raising an arm in defense (because that would have been so effective against the terrifying vaisel). He gave Yin a very appreciative look when he darted in to scoop the vaisel up in his arms, keeping her away from Alex for now. Fei was successfully clambering up Alex's bent legs and was now biting down on his shirt and tugging on it for attention. With a smile the zomboil scooped the adorable blue vaisel kitten up in his arms, and it promptly clambered up to his shoulder where it could sit and bat at his hair, which made Alex laugh.
"Well, he at least seems to like me well enough. And she likes you, so maybe it'll all work out fine." He said, reaching up to tap Fei on the nose when he got too aggressive and bit down on Alex's hair to give it a good pull.
"Hopefully he doesn't mind moving to a cooler climate, though." Alex frowned in concern, not wanting have the same situation befall on him again, though he was fairly certain the runic had nothing to do with fire.
Oh, Yin was yawning, which meant he was probably tired again. Well, it was the middle of the night, after all, and the weremantis did seem to require at least some sleep, though it was somewhat surprising with how energetic he was all day long. Alex pushed himself to his feet, Fei still perched on one shoulder and sitting comfortably with his tail tickling the back of Alex's neck in a way that made the zomboil shudder inwardly, but he managed to fight past the urge to move the vaisel back down into his arms. The little guy seemed happy up there so Alex could let him stay for now.
"You're tired." He stated with a soft smile, "And I should probably go back to my room, clean up a little" He wouldn't clean up at all. "Get Fei settled in to his new surroundings...." His voice trailed off because, once again, he really didn't want to leave, but staying the night just seemed rather pointless. But he would probably see Yin in the gym first thing in the morning anyways, so it wasn't really a big deal.

Everything should work out with the vaisels, if Fei gave any indication. There was really nothing to suggest that he had even been in Yin's room the past couple of days. "Hopefully he will be fine in the cold, and he will warm up when he comes here. I also agree that it will all work out." He smiled at the zomboil.
"Tired? Oh no, I am fine," Princess Eva pointedly yawned at him and he yawned back, hand flying to cover his mouth in embarrassment. Way to be convincing. "Perhaps I could use some more rest." Though honestly he would have to get up in a few hours. "Will you be coming to the gymnasium this morning?" he questioned all of the sudden. "I just...it really is not that far off if you did not want to walk all the way back to your room at this time of night...though I really do not have anything for you to do." He looked slightly crestfallen before standing and going to put Lady Terror in the pet bed. If Alexander was ready to go back the least he could do was walk him home, though for now he was just waiting on the zomboil to decide what he wanted.

Princess Eva was a menace, but Alex didn't notice her sly scheming. He was too busy watching Yin to look at her. He had to smile at Yin, almost laughing again when the weremantis yawned a second time, only further proving his exhaustion. Or what Alex could only assume was exhaustion, really. He had no idea what that might be like.
"Ya, I'll probably be there." Alex nodded, since he had already though the same thing anyways. But Yin was continuing, and Alex frowned, since it was unlike the other boil to have so much to say at one time.
Oh...was he suggesting that Alex could spend the night?
"That could work..." He said slowly, though the weremantis had another point as well. What was Alex supposed to do while he slept? He could sit quietly in a corner and go into what he liked to call 'stasis mode' which was where he basically could sit for hours at a time staring out into nothing, letting his mind wander. He could even lay down on the floor and pretend to sleep, shutting his eyes, but never actually truly sleeping. Either way it probably wouldn't disturb the weremantis.
"I don't necessarily need anything to do. I mean...there are times when I am stuck with nothing to do but sit and wait. I can be pretty patient when I need to be." His lips quirked into a half smile, since that was actually an understatement. Alex could be endlessly patient if he wanted to be.
"Just uh...tell me where I can sit or lay down for the night and I'll stay there." He shrugged, not too bothered about having to hunker down on an uncomfortable floor for a night.

"On the bed of course, and you can leave the light on if you wish. I do have the book I have been working on in the closet, but you might be bored with it." Yin said as he gestured to the one piece of furniture in his room. As if he would expect his company to stay on the floor all night, though it was actually fairly comfortable considering the training mats gave a bit of cushion. And if he was truly uncomfortable he could always shift and take up his perch in his mantis form.
He sat down cross-legged on the floor and Princess Eva immediately curled up in his lap. "And if you need anything please do not hesitate to wake me up." Lady Terror seemed content to curl up in the basket and sleep herself, she had had a busy day after all. Burning up all of that paper had been hard work.

"On the bed..." Alex said slowly, glancing towards it, "And you will be on the bed too?" It wasn't exactly a big bed, but Alex was skinny and if he laid down on his side he actually wouldn't take up any room.
"Or..." Wait a second...Alex narrowed his eyes at the other boil. "I'm not going to take the bed if you're going to lay on the floor, Yin!" That was ridiculous. It was Yin's room, and Alex didn't even sleep for jack's sake! Why would he take the bed??
Fei was nuzzling against Alex's cheek now, purring contentedly, and then digging his claws into Alex's clothing as he walked down the zomboils chest, stomach, then leg, to make his way back down to the floor. Alex hissed as those claws dug into his flesh. "Fei!" he exclaimed, scolding the little creature.
Alex shuffled over to stand over Yin and held a hand down to him. "Come on, you're getting into bed. If I have to pick you up and put you there myself, I will." He looked fairly determined about this, and he had a very strong stubborn streak. If Yin refused, Alex would just leave.

Oh, did Alexander think that he expected him to share? It really was not that big of a deal if he did, but Yin would be a rather awful host if he invited him to stay and then forced him to be crammed next to him on the bed. Apparently that attempt to be thoughtful backfired as he wound up giving Alexander a bewildered look. "I really do not mind sleeping on the floor."
Princess Eva for once agreed with Alexander. Her boil should have the bed, not his pet. So she got up from Yin's lap.
Alexander also did not seem to accept his protests about not minding the floor. Yin's gaze flickered from his outstretched hand to his face. The zomboil seemed...oddly determined about this. Like for some reason it was a big deal that Yin was offering to sleep on the floor. He let his hand envelop Alexander's and then pulled lightly on him as he got to his feet. "Fine, though really it is not that big of a deal. I shall sleep next to the wall so if you want to get up and move around during the night you can." Alexander certainly seemed to think in peculiar ways much of the time.
He moved over to the bed, sitting down and then scooting all the way over to the wall before laying back, head on one edge of the pillow. "Good night Alexander."

When Alex expected an argument, he didn't get one. When he didn't expect anything, Yin chastised him. How was he to know Yin wouldn't put up a fight about who was going to take the bed and who would sleep on the floor? Oh, right, because Alex expected an argument.
Right.
Alex helped haul the weremantis to his feet, and smiled, but began to protest and said "That really won't be necess--" But Yin was already moving to the bed, scooting all the way over to the wall and making room.
Oh..well, in that case...he supposed that meant he was going to be sharing the bed with Yin, which again, was highly ridiculous since he didn't sleep and it meant that the weremantis was going to be crammed up against a wall. Well, whatever, at least he wasn't trying to sleep on the floor.
Reluctantly, Alex shuffled over to the bed, head tilted to the side as he looked down at Yin. He was a little worried that the other boil would get cold with Alex laid down next to him, but that's what blankets were for, right? Finally, he sat down on the edge of the bed, then laid down as he swung his long legs up. He was really much to tall for the bed, so he bent his knees up and lay there with his hands clasped on his chest, staring up at the ceiling. Should he have turned the lights off first? Didn't most people prefer to sleep in the dark? Yin had said he could leave the light on, so he must not have minded too much.
"Good night, Yin." He said quietly, feeling faintly awkward and turning on his side, away from Yin to stare at the wall on the opposite end of the room, knee's bent so they were poking off of the edge of the bed now. Vaguely the wondered what the jack the lumpy, cheap mattress was stuffed with. Maybe he could convince Yin to move Alex's larger and more comfortable bed over here. He barely ever used the stupid thing. He still wasn't quite sure why he even had one.
Eventually Alex succumbed to the silence, and his boredom, the warmth of Yin behind him, and the steady drone of thoughts running through his head and hit a point of almost complete mental stasis, staring with unblinking eyes out at the room. It was as close to sleep as he pretty much ever got. Fei climbed up on the bed and curled around Alex's ankles, but it barely even registered.
At some point in the night Alex came out of this strange mental limbo, and shifted to sit up in the bed, his hair flopping into his eyes and Fei springing awake to jump off of the bed in surprise with a small hiss. He glanced down to Yin beside him and smiled, never actually watching anyone sleep before. It was..weird, and he just couldn't fathom why it was necessary. Idly he wondered if Yin could hear him in his sleep, if we spoke to him quietly. He didn't want to wake the other boil up though....
Alex laid back down, trying not to disturb the bed too much, this time facing Yin, his knees brushing against the other boil. He just watched the weremantis breathe, the fall and raise of his chest iteruppted by the faint barely noticable beating of his heart. He couldn't help himself, and reached out to very very oh so gently put his hand down on Yin's chest, so he could feel the heartbeat as well. He didn't leave his hand there long, afraid that the coldness would startle the other boil awake. Finally he closed his eyes, and relaxed again with a sigh, and whispered "Thank you." Though whether it was too himself, or meant for Yin was anyone's guess, and if it was too Yin, if it was meant as a thanks for helping the zomboil out that night, or for agreeing to bond with Alex, or for just being..
..or maybe it was a little of everything.
He didn't move again from that position for the rest of the night, and wouldn't until Yin awoke.

Yin pulled up the rather tattered blanket that had once been used to bundle up all of his worldly belongings and waited to make sure that the zomboil was not going to do anything ridiculous like try to stay on the floor all night before he could fully relaxed. When Alexander laid down he finally closed his eyes, perfectly content to sleep with another boil next to him. It had been a while, but he was well used to this. Soon after Alexander told him good night he was asleep.
Because he felt entirely safe in his room, with Princess Eva, his bonded, and the other minipets in the room, he slept deeply. Not even Alexander's movement (or the hiss from Fei) woke him up, nor did the hand on his chest.
In fact he was sleeping so well that he actually overslept. Finally Princess Eva was ready for her boil to wake up and left her pink bed where she was curled up next to her new heater to jump up on the bed. She might have eyed Alexander suspiciously before she crawled up to sit on her boil's chest.
Yin's eyes slowly fluttered open, gaze landing on the rabo and a small smile began tugging at one corner of his mouth. Then slowly he remembered the night before and his gaze flickered over to the zomboil next to him. "Good morning Alexander," he said as he reached up to rub at his eyes with one hand, voice still slightly husky from sleep. He had just woken up, so he really was not thinking about how odd it was for the zomboil to be laying there staring at him.

Alex hadn't moved even the tiniest bit after he turned towards Yin and closed his eyes, except to blink them open once in a while to watch Yin some more. He had to fight little urges to reach out and prod the weremantis, totally fascinated by this whole sleeping thing and wondering what it was that made him wake up again. Some type of internal clock? A noise? The light of the pumpkin sun filtering through the window? That last one didn't seem to make sense, as the light was still on in the room. He finally settled on the obvious, which was that he would simply wake up when he was not tired anymore, but Alex still wondered how it all worked, and whether Yin was having a 'dream' at that moment. Dreams were another thing Alex didn't understand and probably never would, which was probably good since he would have probably had nightmares about fire for weeks if it was so.
When Princess Eva hopped up on the bed, Alex's eyes came open again, and he had a strong urge to grab her and put her on the floor again. Yin was sleeping! She shouldn't disturb him! Not after Alex had been so good at staying still and quiet and not waking him!
But it was too late anyways. As Yin's eyes blinked open again Alex couldn't help but smile. The long night was over, his bonded was awake and it was a new day that he could spend with the weremantis.
Well, until classes, that was.
"Good morning, Yǐn Cáng," Alex replied, opting to use Yin's full name, which was rare and always felt a bit odd, but somehow fit once in a while. His own voice was slightly lower and more hoarse as well, just from not being used for all of those hours. "I wasn't sure if I should wake you...it seems to be a bit later in the day then you normally are up and out doing your training.
Alex started to push himself up, running both of his hands through his pillow flattened hair to muss it back up appropriately. "You seemed to sleep well. Not that I would know, or anything but...you didn't move around much."
Okay, if that wasn't a little creepy...

Hearing the zomboil say his real name was always a pleasure, and right now when he was still not fully awake the low voice of his bonded just made him ridiculously happy. The look on his face was one that could probably be described as blissful, just from that simple reminder that his bonded knew his name. Yin really did not mind so much that he did not use it all the time...so long as he used it when it counted. Like right now.
Then reality seeped in to his happy little half-asleep word. "I overslept?" He sounded slightly worried at that and slowly began pushing himself to his elbows, trying not to cause Princess Eva to fall or anything. After a quick petting she got off of him and he wriggled and scooted his way to the edge of the bed next to Alexander before standing and going over to the sink to brush his teeth. Alexander seemed...rather focused on his sleep actually. "Rawwry?" he questioned as he continued brushing before spitting into the sink and rinsing his mouth out.
Ah the life of a domestic.
"Well," he said as he turned back around. "I suppose that I would. Early on we slept where we could, often rather close to the others of our age group, and later on we had rather small bunks, smaller than that bed at least. You only need to fall from one once before your body starts to learn not to move around too much." A thought occurred to him. "You did not spend the night watching me sleep did you? His tone was more amused than angry. "The next time you see me bring me some books and I shall stock them in here for you so you are not so bored when you stay again."

The fact that Yin looked so happy to see Alexander first thing in the morning made the zomboil feel elated to the point of almost being dizzy. He sat up fully, propping his back up against the wall and bringing his knees up to get his legs out of the way when Yin moved to get out of the bed. Wrapping his arms around his knees and resting his chin on top of them, his gaze followed Yin around the room.
"You just seemed so peaceful." Alex said, as though that was explanation enough for why Yin had slept in, and why Alex had let him. "And I thought you were probably quite tired after coming to help me last night." He finished, almost justifying not waking the other boil up more to himself then to Yin.
He didn't quite understand what Yin had said with a mouth full of...whatever he had in his mouth. A toothbrush? Toothpaste? Those items were pretty much foreign to the zomboil, though he had heard of them before. But he seemed to be finished now, and Alex listened intently to his explanation for why he did not move much in his sleep, which honestly, Alex hadn't had a clue if that was normal sleep time behavior or not.
Alex opened his mouth as if to protest, since no, he hadn't spent the whole night watching Yin sleep. He'd spent most of the night staring off into space or laying with his eyes closed. But really, when it came down to it, he had spent quite a bit of time staring at Yin. ".....Well....yes." He said, somewhat ashamedly, even though the weremantis didn't seem upset by it.
"I've never seen anybody sleep before. I mean, a couple of my pets sleep, but that's different. It's kind of..fascinating really." He shrugged, then unfolded himself from his position on the bed, scooting to the edge and sliding down to the floor to shuffle over towards Yin. He stopped in front of him, smiling in that way that just showed how completely smitten he was with the weremantis, even if Yin didn't quite realise it yet.
"I'll do that." He said, more then happy to agree. He could get used to spending entire nights in Yin's room like this, having Yin wake up next to him, watching him get ready to go about his day. It was....really nice.
"So..um..I was kind of thinking that since I didn't go back to my room last night, I actually didn't get a chance to do some studying that I should have been doing. I might have to make a trip to the library this morning instead of heading to the gym with you like I'd planned."

"Sounds boring to me," Yin said matter of factly. Watching someone sleep? That was like...watching paint dry. After a few minutes of watching he certainly would have given up to go do something else. The thought that it might be at all weird was assuaged by the fact that the zomboil did not sleep, and the thought that it was creepy never really crossed his mind. In fact, the idea that there was anything remotely improper about the situation did not occur to him, and he would likely, innocently, tell just about anyone that Alexander had slept with him.
Yin stretched, already mentally debating which workout he should do today. Perhaps his tai chi should be one that focused on balancing, holding complicated positions, and then his training could be more fast paced, repetitive blows just to build up muscle memory. Alexander's decision to study made sense to him. Mental training like that was...not his cup of tea, but the zomboil obviously preferred it to a nice physical workout.
"That would be fine, would you like me to walk you there? I could go ahead and do my morning run then, and practice my tai chi in the gymnasium."

Boring? It was far from boring! But he supposed maybe to somebody who had a heartbeat and regular breathing that had to sleep on a nightly basis....One who also sometimes acted like a scareling with ADHD on a sugar high....
Ya, okay, it would difinitely be boring to that particular individual.
"It wasn't boring to me..but that's probably because it was more like an educational study." He grinned, before answering Yin's question, thinking about it a little. While the company on the walk to the library would certainly be welcome, he knew that Yin probably had a busy training regime already planned and with his later then usual start...
"No, there's no need to walk with me. If I have time I'll just meet you in the gym after I go to the library and if not...I'm going to have to come back after classes and pick up Fei, so I might see you then. Oh, and lunch time of course." His smile broadened, if that was even possible.
He was about ready to leave, and was just going to turn towards the door and go, when he suddenly felt emboldened to do something he'd never done before. Perhaps this knew feeling was due to Yin allowing him to spend the night, however innocent it was. He reached out as though to clasp Yin's shoulder in a friendly gesture of parting, but instead wrapped that arm around behind him and pulled him in for a gentle hug, leaning his head down to murmur "Thank you." in the weremantis's ear. He meant it as a thanks for helping him out the night before, not hesitating to come when Alex needed him, even in the middle of the night as it had been. It was a brief embrace, ending almost as quickly as it started, because the zomboil didn't want to push Yin's fairly fragile limits.
As he backed away, he smiled awkwardly and reached up to push his hair out of his eyes, holding his free hand up in 'goodbye' gesture as he started to turn towards the door.
"Have a good morning, Yǐn Cáng" He said, quite cheerfully as he exited the room.
Yep, used his full name twice in one morning. Somebody was obviously trying to save up brownie points. Or redeem himself for any trouble he might have been in for the hug. Whichever~

Yin did not really accept not walking Alexander to the library. He could easily do it, and it would just mean rearranging his schedule slightly, which was something he was more than willing to do for the zomboil.
He was about to protest and insist that he go when Alexander was reaching out for him. He expected a cold hand on his shoulder, so when he suddenly found himself being tugged in for a hug and a quickly whispered thank you it took him by surprise. He could feel his face beginning to heat up in possibly pleased embarrassment even as Alexander released him. "You are welcome," he murmured in an almost automatic response.
The real sign that he was slightly shocked, though by the hug or Alexander's continued use of his real name was hard to tell, was found in the fact that Alexander had actually made it to the door before the mantodae actually moved. Almost too late he moved to the door, half-way stepping into the hallway to lightly call after Alexander. "You as well Alexander, have a good morning." He went back to his room to finish getting ready and to begin his morning training, feeling even more refreshed than when he had first woken up.
In fact, Princess Eva noted, he seemed to be chattering more than usual to her and the vaisels.
