Wilson was still at his back. This was good. And now Tooley was singing, ready to be unleashed. This time around, Deryk did not dally. The green aura burst from his left hand and he lashed out in a wide arc several times, managing to slice through many shadowlings as he struck. It was kind of surprising how easy it was to cut through them really. Status Wave:4 Attack Dmg: 15 Total Shadowlings taken out: 33 Recoveries left: 0

Wilson, apparently, could not fight for beans. Even his own darn weapon let out a startled neigh of approval at Wilson’s progress. [Not bad. Not bad at all, now quick use that charge.]

Cutting down a few more, Deryk soon noticed that Wilson was getting overwhelmed. Quickly, he tried to fend some off for him, but it didn't really work all too well. It was too late. "NOOOOO!!" he cried out. It was so close! Status Wave:5 Attack Dmg: 4 Total Shadowlings taken out: 37 Recoveries left: 0

And thus Deryk kept going on. Why? Because he didn't know how to get out of here without getting himself knocked the ******** out. And the shadowlings were still coming at him. Tooley chimed once more. She was already ready to be unleashed again. Taking in a deep breath, Deryk let her loose, taking out a large amount of shadowlings while he had the psyblade aura. Status Wave:8 Attack Dmg: 15 Total Shadowlings taken out: 61 Recoveries left: 0

"Someone help! I dont' know how to get out of here!" Deryk whined. He did get help. While he was starting to panic on how to leave, a shadowling snuck up on him and knocked him out, sending him back to the recovery room with the aid of the senior hunters. And yet again Wilson woke up in the recovery room. His body was tired, but at least he didn’t feel mentally exhausted. He rolled his neck, unmindful of the muffled, cracking sounds he emitted. Wilson smiled over at Deryk and leaned forward to gently prod him awake. “How’d you do?”

Groaning as he came around, Deryk rubbed his head. He actually had to think about Wilson's question for a bit. Wait. If he recalled correctly, he actually beat five waves!
"I... I beat it! Well. Sort of. Got past five waves. Think I was on ninth when I finally got taken out. Didn't know how to leave. Took down 61 of them. If counted right. ... Unless I was dreaming. Might have actually been taken down sooner and dreamt the rest. Maybe," he said, sounding a little confused at the moment.

Wilson waited patiently before he grinned at Deryk and leaned over—ow, muscle pain, ow, already?!—to pat him on the back. “Nice! The ninth, you said? Man. If only I could reach that far.” He should have been envious, but he seemed more glad for the other trainee than anything else. Chuckling, Wilson managed to stand up and offered Deryk a hand. “I think I’m going to end on that note rather than attempt another failure-filled try."

Rubbing his side a bit where it was sore, Deryk grinned to Wilson, nodding. Though, he wasn't really sure how he managed that still. He was rather surprised with himself.
"Alright. You sure though? I'd go do it again with you if you want," he said.

Wilson shook his head. “No, it’s okay. I can always do it another time. It’s not going anywhere. I’m not going anywhere. It’s fine.” He decided to stretch out his arms and winced. Ouch. "It's a pretty good thing to end on, don't you think?"
