"Maybe, the way my luck has been going I'll find him along with that thing." she couldn't help but chuckle a bit. Without a doubt she figured her luck of not having seen the thing for a while would turn back on her and she'd run into it within the next few days after this meeting. She shivered, she wasn't looking forward to that, no she really wasn't."I don't think he'd be too happy to hear that." she motioned to the silent zoid as a warning. Would be safer if it wasn't mentioned to the rather temperamental zoid.

Marcia simply gave Talon an understanding nod, she could see he'd rather not divulge to much and respected that much. Though she had no more to say on the subject of Jury, she too couldn't help but agree, she wished she'd never met it.

"I see," she looked up at the tiger. "I wouldn't call it any safer out here, it goes wherever it wants." turning her attention back to talon she gave a nod. "That I can do seeing as you'll be staying a bit longer here, I'll send you a map when the big guy is back online." which in this case shouldn't be too long it seemed as though they had been found according to the radar raptor.

She glanced back to the bone zoid. The guy always drew attention, after all who wouldn't want the prestige for taking down such a beast, would make them quite the name.

"I sure hope that bird of yours get's fixed soon, send him my thanks." she said standing.

" If luck be the case, then I hope some of my ill-begot luck rubs off on you. You survived once. You might survive again. Sanity, however... " he let it trail off with a soft chuckle. It was pretty clear what he meant. You had to be insane to survive, and willingly part with any sort of belief that such a monster even existed to joke about it. But, any encounters like the ones he's had in the past hour, even months, pretty much made Talon appreciate life. " Eh... I'll tell him when I'm out of any sort of particle cannon's reach with a giant billboard. Hes not so bad. Just impulsive. Makes him kinda human, don't you think? "

Talon chuckled and nodded in appreciation to the notes. " I would very much appreciate that. Though I would feel I would owe you for even that. I can still offer you some credits if you like? " It really was mostly for the repairs that may need to be placed on that massive Zoid. Buffing out scratches was a pain. But he still felt like he should. Or, maybe compensate for nearly letting himself get destroyed by mentioning She-who-must-not-be-mentioned-EVER. Probably the later. But it was clear that they needed to move lest detection and a swarm of whatever it was was upon them.

Which.... reminded Talon that Tyrant had yet to tell him whom it was that was practically upon them right now. He nodded as Marcia stood up, and grinned, " I'll be sure to tell him when he's awake. Take care. I hope we meet up again sometime... On the same side if the Fates are in a kind mood. "

The light in Atelius's green eyes flickered a few times before the bird shuddered from beak to talon. (har har har) He clicked his beak, just as the feral ones had done in the temple they had come from, and lept around Talon. Wings extended with mini boosters ready for flight just as he had enough room to clear his span.

Within moments of that action Atelius was airborne leaving only a loud screech and a cloud of dust in his wake. By the feint trail of light left from his small boosters he was headed deeper into the rogue territories.

"I'd rather keep what little sanity I have left..." she didn't want to loose anymore than she already had. Talon was an example of how far she didn't want to loose her sanity...

"I'll have to decline the recommendation, I'd rather him out of the imperial army's eye for now." those scratches in his armor, unlike normal Zoids would heal flawlessly in the next few days depending on the damage he would revive or if he would revive any in the next few moments.

Marica looked back to see the bird, whatever it was blast into the sky, it was fast. "Can your zoid keep it on the Radar?" she called Talon as she suddenly ran over to Catastrophe

"Agumo," she called quietly to the little organoid, "Wake him please." the Organoid gave a nod a bright glowing from the cockpit of the bone zoid before vanishing inside, grumbling it rose, Marcia sitting on the side of the cockpit hopped off the side and against the seat, Lola hopping back onto her perch once Agumo was gone.

The Direction that Atelius had gone was covered in new red dots on the radar that had suddenly appeared. Seemingly the other rogues had called for backup, but why was there so many of them? The woman wondered.

Sending the marked points to Talon, as promised once the bone zoid was active she plugged herself back into the zoid as the cockpit closed. Marcia finally identified the swarm as she watched them heading toward them...

"Molgas.." she said with great distaste for the zoid type. No wonder there were so many.

Talon was distracted the moment Atelius blasted off somewhere. He frowned as he studied the trajectory. Suddenly, he had a very forboding feeling that something horrible was going to happen. And he just sighed. "Eh? Yeah. That isn't an issue. " Calmly he headed over to Tyrant, climbed in, and waited for the spider to clamor in with him before the hood closed with a sealing hiss. Radar was brought up and Talon almost jumped for joy.

" Molga! Yay! Something mundane! " Talon said to no one particularly, pretty sure that the comlinks were down. But you never know with Tyrant. He swung his Zoid around, aimed a cannon at the ground where they had been sitting...and fired a couple shots right there into the fire. A quick, effective, and obvious overkill. But it took only one spark to start a wildfire and he didn't want to deal with searing flames and a swarm of caterpillar Zoids on his hands. Besides, he had to follow Atelius.

The older Saberfang roared, wanting to run and get away. Tyrant hissed back in annoyance to the old man's complaining. And Talon ignored them both as he was busy looking over the best possible way to distract the hoard and make it out alive. But the question on his mind was, " How can there be so many? I know it is relatively cheep to manufacture, but I didn't know there could be that many outside of standardized armies...." Tyrants reply was static silence.

Nothing else to say came to mind. Tyrant hissed, backed away and bolted. The Saberfang followed. They were going to take the long way around. It would be long, chances are Talon would be pissed from something going wrong, but they would get there safer.

Above, and strangely not showing up on radar, small shadows flying in five groups of three in a triangle formation flew overhead. Upon closer inspection the shadows hand small glowing green eyes and a bird-like shape. All to familiar for one who had been close to a seeker.

For now the flock circled high above head as if waiting for something.

Marcia wasn’t surprised in the least with the amount of molga’s here, there were so many more rogues out here than both the empire and republic realized, Molgas were the easiest zoid to acquire despite truly being useless on their own they were just bloody annoying in a large group. Marcia had her com off, as she steered catastrophe in the path of the molgas. She couldn’t find any metal zi among their group as she watched the computer analyze the zoids.

Caastrophe’s gaze was focused on the two zoids fleeing before focusing back on the approaching swarm ahead.

“Take care,” she spoke to no one in particular as she watched the two blips on her radar leave the area. The wildfire started but it was of no concern to catastrophe or Marcia, the flames would never get any higher than catastrophe’s feet though it would be very uncomfortable for those in the molga zoids. And Catastrophe had no worry about the fires damaging him, very little could.

Catastrophe glanced upward and roared at the birds in the sky as though he felt ancient energy emitting from them. Though perhaps it was just instinct, birds were waiting for something. The giant zoid couldn’t' fully ignore his surroundings and rampage through the molga. Stupid bird things. He lifted his foot and brought it down hard on top of quite a few molga squishing them, he roared defiant, confident, and menacing at the rest of the molga’s standing atop those he had just crushed... let them try, no matter their number.

Marcia was more focused on the incoming molga to notice the circling birds as they didn’t show up on her radar, the amount of blips on it would have negated them anyway. Catastrophe’s huge head jerked her attention away from them, “What are you looking at?” she said sternly Marcia caught a glimpse of the birds before catastrophe focused back on the approaching molga army. “Alright, but lets deal with them first,” she understood why he was concerned, however they had to focus on the task at hand.

The Molga army approached rushing all at once. Catastrophe’s large skeletal hand swiped a good portion of them away against some rocks and into a portion of the fire. They rolled over quickly and headed back for catastrophe. The zoid was annoyed but unphased as he continued to terrorize the molgas.

Under the sands coming from behind the molga a sandshark wove itself amongst the molga, the only indication was the sharp blade protruding from the sand below. Using the sheer number of molga to its advantage, hoping to catch the bio zoid and it’s pilot off guard.

As Talon slunked away careful not to draw suspicion to himself in that bring green and red stripped Zoid of his, he noticed something odd in the sky. Something flying in a group of three... It wasn't on the radar, but that oddness and familiarity drew his eyes. Pulling them up, and zooming it all but confirmed it. There was a cold chill around his heart, and yet he was excited. Atelius really was doing what he asked... If Atelius ever returned, Talon owed that bird more than a huge favor.

But there was something else that drew his attention from that almost peaceful image of impending doom-- there was an extra blip on the field where there shouldn't be. " What in the... " He brought the raptor to a halt before studying the motions of that particular bleep. In fact, he did a full on scan of it. Amazing what the new and improved Sub-Geno Seeker could do. With a few pushes of a button and a firm order to the Saberfang to continue on the path to the scheduled rondevous point miles outside the nearest watering hole, he doubled back. That was a good tactic, it just wasn't good enough.

It was easy to coax the large monster into attack speed. The energy blades were unfolded, lit, and now it was just a matter of figuring out the proper tragectery to strike for optimum coolness. ( Well, really it was all about destroying that jerk that thought he could sneak up. ) " Alright. Targed the hammerhead." Talon said through a mad smile. Tyrant hissed in agreement, and scrambled all signals. Well all signals within a hundred meter radius... and then it was only coms and some of visuals. No way there were pilots in each and every Molga. But for certainty there had to be one in the Sandshark. Switching on a comlink between Marcia and himself, Talon grinned, " Oh hi there. I see you've got this pretty well taken care of. " As a punctuation, the Green Tyrant charged at the barely visible pin, mowing down the molgas with those blades held at its side with relative ease. Relative as in he had to do some fancy angle math to make sure they were mostly crippling blows.

But the sandshark... Talon shot at the shark, knowing full well it would do nothing more than annoy it before those energy blades of Tyrants moved to an upard stab position. In a swift movement, the raptor pounced upon the fish and dug those blades into the body of the sand swimmer, roaring defiantly and proudly as those red eyes blazed brilliantly in the bloodbath of the battlefield.

The rough translation to the roar was ' Come at me, bro!'. Or ' My pilot is a fricking lunatic most likely touched by the Black Fog'. But most likely ' I like Pancakes.' Zoid-Human translation is a little fishy on this one. But it was a proud roar.

Those flying birds remained though not unnoticed in acknowledged by the other party hardly something worth caring about considering their immediate plight, though perhaps they may regret it latter. Catastrophe continued ruthlessly crushing the molgas as Marcia allowing the bone zoid some freedom eyed the monitors watching carefully, there was something slightly larger out amongst the molga, and closing rapidly hoping the mass of molgas and sand would conceal it.

“there’s a wolf hidden amongst the flock,” she muttered to Catastrophe who seemed to be quite content flinging some of the molgas a rather far distance away. Though she couldn’t tell what zoid it was exactly she had a hunch it might be the one with Zi blades, or bamboo rockets. Something Organic that could damage the thickly armored bio zoid.

Talon however seemed to have things well in hand, scrambling the signal seemed to disrupt something in the molgas as they began moving away from Catastrophe unsure of where there target was supposed to be, all those except for the few close enough to identify the monstrous zoid.
--

“That brat is sending a Jamming signal” fumed the pilot of the shark, he had spent a long time setting up this ambush, he wouldn’t be thwarted by some imperial soldier for his prize, oh it would be worth it to capture that monster, and the money he would get for the bounty was worth every penny he had already spent.

The hammerhead on the other hand was rather confused with the message the Tyrant roared out, the second initial messaged seemed to be the one it translated, even the pilot wasn’t sure what the other zoid meant.

“Heh must be a crazy one,” the shark’s pilot told the hammerhead. “Can’t let that signal keep broadcasting now can I?”

The well armed shark’s dorsal fin came above the sands after the annoying shot, however it was effective in annoying the pilot enough to contact talon, while catastrophe was still occupied.

“Gonna have ta’ get me out of theh sands before those blades are even gonna work,” the pilot reminded Talon before a volley of micro missiles shot out from the back and the zoid vanished again under the sands... Couldn’t stay up there for too long, just enough to show off a little, however that little cost him, Tyrant’s blades cut through the zoid’s armor as leapt out of the sand and dove back in, as slippery as a fish. No way could they catch the sandshark without getting it out of the sand fully. At least that’s what the pilot thought regardless of the current damage and missing dorsal fin.

It began circling tyrant, deep under the sands, speeding up as it swam, Tyrant would find the sand beneath his feet was loosening, forming a large sand whirlpool.

--

“What a pain,” Marcia muttered she hated sandsharks, watching the zoid leap out of the sand, Catastrophe shot a jet of hellfire in that direction melting the molgas in its wake. “We better get over there,” she told the large zoid molga bodies littered around its feet. He roared in challenge, before moving to help the sub geno with direction from Marcia.

Compared to the past run ins with danger, this one was straight up, no surprises at all. Okay, so the guy was circling underneath Tyrant's feet in a rather amusing attempt to loose the sands enough to pull the Zoid under, but it was an obvious tactic. It was a shame that there was only one. More than one, and Tyrant probably would sink up in the sand quicker. Tyrant again roared in defiance as the missiles approached him, daring the shark to leap out again. The weaponry Tyrant did have wouldn't cover all the hits, but at least he could block out a few and lean into one of the missiles to direct the damage to a more repairable spot whenever they got downtime. It did some minor damage to his right blade and a few cooling plates, and there was probably shrapnel burried in the vents that needed to be pulled out along with some dirt and sand. The vents let out a hiss as Tyrant seemed to take in air...and again it roared letting its pain and want to destroy this sandy inconvenience echo. Or there was some metal stuck in its air vents making its roar sound a bit more menacing. Probably the later.

The opposing pilot seemed to be oblivious to obvious tactics. The hit was good. It meant that the communications would be damaged, and that would mean that Talon could send his own to over-ride the Molgas into swarming their once master if he wished. That would be mean. It would be awesome though. He just didn't have enough time to do something like that, not while he was running in circles to keep the ever shifting sands from shifting completely under his feet. What he wouldn't give for a longer blade at this time to stick in the sand to hopefully chop that fish up even more! "Your radar and communications have been damaged already. All I'll have to do is stand on a rock and wait for you to run into it. " Talon replied in a very bored tone. Seriously... Some people... "Or you could just surrender. Less expensive. "

But that whirlpool of sand... Talon had to admit that the bandit knew what he was doing. Tyrant yelped, or at least it sounded like a yelp, as it fought the spinning sands. A roar caught its ear and by the looks of things, Tyrant almost seemed glad the scary bone Zoid was lumbering over to help. It could sit on the shark and they could be done with this mess! Ha ha...not really. There'd be nothing left! "Eh, can we get it to jump a second time? " He muttered to himself, and grinned madly. "Maybe...Maybe not. Let's at least try and buy some time. See if we can't re-write the signal, eh? "

That one working blade, while not ideal for this, would work just as well. Crouching into attack speed, Tyrant ran the opposite way the sands were churning. The plasma blade dug and cut the sand like butter on its way to another attack on the shark. Talon was focusing completely at this point and actually paying attention. He needed Tyrant to reverse the signal orders... Wouldn't it be hilarious if the molgaa attacked the shark instead? Oh indeed it would. And from how easy it had been to scramble the signal in the first place, the poor guy wouldn't have a chance. . . . Muwa ha ha ha ha. ...

It was now, however, a matter of hitting the creature swimming beneath the sands. Talon had to move up and down the vortex to try to gain a hit on guiding fins. Hit one of those, and the battle would be pretty much over and he could hand the nice man over to Marcia. Mr. Cuddles there would crunch the Zoid up no doubt, buuut that was Catastrophe's business. "You wouldn't happen to have like a large net or anything like that to make this easier, would you Marcia? " He asked the silent link to the bio-zoid. It wouldn't hurt too much, would it?

(( That's totally fine. I hope she's having fun wherever she is and that she's safe too. <3 ))

The flock overhead begun to disperse as quietly as they had arrived. It was as if they had been swung at by some massive invisible stick or something of the like. They scattered than vanished as if they had never been there.

At first one could wonder what the flip that was all about. Moments before they had been like vultures awaiting their turn at a kill, now they left without so much as a hullo. However, curiosity would soon be satisfied as the loud bellow of multiple voices all in unison shook the land. It wasn't until the colossal figure of the famed chimera "Saga" appeared looming high above the sands that the seekers strange actions were understandable. They had signaled the reinstated King of bandits. Or at very least his ZOID... If he had been there he made no move to communicate with Marica or Talon.

The ZOID's several eyes flashed as rockets were launched from its back aimed at several targets within the sands. Thankfully the dynamic duo were not one of them...
PostPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 11:18 pm

Any conversation the pilot of the hammerhead would have had with Talon during his attempt to catch the shark was ended with the appearance of Saga and its rockets. The shark burst out of the sand as a crater was left where the rocket exploded the shark fell onto the sand badly damaged, the pilot cursing in the cockpit. he had hardly expected this zoid to appear...

---

Saga's voices struck a chord, as he appeared, marcia couldn't tell he she was relived or more worried. Saga was here did that mean Ander was safe? or the opposite, had Saga struck out on his own.

Catastrophe hissed at the large zoid, he still didn't like the chimera, though made no other hostile moves toward it not that its rockets would damage the zoid any.

Marcia's eyes widened at the appearance of the former bandit kings zoid. Marcia quickly checked the trajectories of the rockets, it didn't seem they were all aimed at the sand shark, she wondered what was under the sands the zoid might have been after, Talon went forgotten for a moment as marica slowed catastrophe.

Marcia hesitated to open a channel to the zoid for a brief moment but she needed to know "Saga, is Ander there, is he alright?" Marcia had to hold back the worry in her own voice, she clutched the long necklace tightly hoping the old bandit king was alright.

(( Gaia and work tag teamed to eat my post.... Summary follows: ))

Tyrant was proud of the dead fish and dragged it along around for a bit to bedrock and out of the missles range. Talon switched to a UV and Infrared scanner to see what the heck Saga was shooting at, all while barking at Marcia to maybe move along in case whatever was beneath the sands wasn't something nasty like those Obliterators or something worse.

Oh and Talon was concerned about where those Seekers vanished off to and how they either found Saga or what their original goal was.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 06, 2012 12:07 am

The vast amounts of missiles flew to areas just out of range, striking another wave of would be ambush-tasked rogues. The chimera ZOID released a loud bellow, but gave Marcia no response to he cockpit directly. The seekers had in fact retrieved him from his hiding place and Saga all too willingly followed due to the familiar signal of Catastrophe.

-No, I do not come with a pilot. He has other things to be attending to. I received a distress warning from 'Atelius'. The strange creature has gone ahead to fetch some thing called 'Moe' for his 'brilliant master'.-

Saga mentally had to roll his eyes at the strange bird's word choice.

-Is there any more assistance I may offer the two of you?-

He inquired after a short moment's pause. If not he would be happy to be on his way agian.
