Tide laughed and snuggled closer to her. "Yes and what a rewarding experience it turned out to be when they won in skirmishes against their cousins. We did good love both have a lot of growing to do but we have prepared them as well as we could without living their lives for them. And to this day they still grace us with their presence." He nibbled on her neck, finding the tender spots underneath her mane. "We were not maddening, we were concerned." he snorted. "So what is next? We stalk them and make sure they find the right mates? Or we let them grow and work on bringing the next generation in to follow in their hoofsteps?" he grinned. "Only Azreth knows what tastes Kai has in females." Tide rolled his eyes.

Kainda gave a brief snort as if triumphant in her children's victories over their cousins. Though she only bore two foals for her mate, they turned out to be just as equal as his brothers' eight respected offspring. Her tail flicked a little feeling her skin twitch as he touched her gently. Tide always knew what to say or do to make her feel better all the while. At the question, she got into a small silence of thinking and momentary pauses. What to do indeed? She took a breath looking over toward her mate before answering, "I think we can let them go, Tide. Let them make their own paths. We've been here enough and we always will. And I'm sure both of our children will do fine in picking their mates. They better at least." The last part seemed to be an affirmation on the doting mother's part. She was indeed going to be very selective on who her children chose to be with, but that didn't mean that they would listen to her anyway. She'd at least show she cared however.

Tide smiled as he read what she meant in her last line. "I couldn't imagine if I hadn't been able to be with you Kainda. It would have been torture if my parents hadn't let us. I think you are right, they deserve the chance to look for themselves. No matter how hard it will be to let them go." He stared off into the distance for a moment thinking. "Ummf," he grunted, "Oh well. On to the future I suppose." He grinned at her and nibbled upon her little orange nose. His eyes twinkling mischievously. "Shall we try on the next batch of delightful terrors? Perhaps they won't be quite so rambunctious as the last two. Not that that wasn't fun but I would still like some black coat when I am older."

Kainda nodded giving a gentle yawn as she flicked her ears. "I think our darlings will do just fine, my love." She gave a laugh with a bit of a grunt stretching ever so often. The feel of his body close to hers and the words he whispered oh just made her feel all the more exciting. "I think I can manage..." The mare chuckled giving her own kisses toward her mate and love of her life. "You'll have enough black coat to last you the ages my darling. That I promise." Kainda gave a chuckle nudging her nose against his neck as she gave a gentle sigh of content. "I love you, Dark Tide."

"Only if your orange coat sticks beside the black." he smiled at her. He would be one sad pony without her. " I love you too my Kainda. You are my sun, my moon and my rain." He wondered just where he had gotten his poetic side, certainly not from his brothers. Must have been his parents or Kainda herself. "What a good day that was my love." And that good day was followed by an even better night.
