Moon? He knew that word, a creature had once told him that the Moon looked beautiful and pointed it out to him. With a confident smile at actually knowing a word she wanted he said, "mwezi" (Moon) He couldn't help but wonder why that was the first word she asked for, and so unable to resist he asked; "Why Moon?" He hoped it wasn't a personal question. His people believed that the Moon stole the Sun's light, and would glow every night with it before the Sun came to take it back again.

Heze blushed a little, it probably seemd dumb to him, but then the moon didn't have a big influence over his life, to her it was the sun. "Mwezi...." Thinking how to explain her family's connection to the moon. "My grandparents... ,,, My mothers mother is called moon by her mate.... and my grandfather...." Not sure why the moon was important to Maion, though it was probably something to do with his domain.

Haki listened to her and nodded, he understood what she was saying. Her grandmother was called Moon, though he didn't understand why she hesitated when speaking of her grandfather... was he perhaps... dead? He had seen that death often caused the innocent harm when they tried to speak of them. He hoped that was the not the case here, even as he tried to encourage her to continue. "Grandfather?"

Heze sighed, not sure how to explain, but she would try. "My grandfather is the angeni of the ocean... The moon has a big influence over him, and my family..." Looking round at the starry markings on her wings, knowing she had a few others on her pelt too.

Haki's eyes wandered to her wings, he understood that she was trying to tell him her family were connected to the night in some way.. even as he didn't fully understand what she meant, he had never heard of an Angeni before today, let alone an Angeni of the Ocean, but he suspected that the title simply expressed how important it was to him? Ok, so he really was rather clueless, thumbling through things, only really every understanding a sliver of anything. In order to hedge away from his lack of understanding about this new world he found himself in, he commented upon her wings instead; "They are beautiful...." he smiled, "Komplement mmoja ambaye wears yao kikamilifu." (Complementing the one who wears the perfectly.) He suspected if she knew half of what he said to her she would either hit him, blush or run away, he would never think ill of her for any of those reactions, and it was highly possible that she even had a soulmate already and that his words were highly inappropriate. Yet part of his mind whispered that she was too innocent for that to be true. There was one important question that lingered in his mind, if they spoke the same lanaguage... would he continue to compliment her so? Perhaps not. Perhaps he should stop before she figured it out and grew upset at him. After all she had been nothing but kind to him.

Looking back to him from her wings, then back to her wings, blushing softly as he called them beautiful, then said something about complements. Blushing deeply, the white on her nose making it painfully obvious. But she was oddly proud of the wings she had inherited from her mother. "Thank you... they are like my mothers.... except she is covered in stars.... Like grandfather...." Offering him a shy smile, not having anyone outside of family refer to anything about her as beautiful before.

Haki turned his attention from her wings to her and noticed the blush that she bore on her flesh, part of him felt guilty for placing it there.... after all, it was not his right to 'taint' this innocent mare, even if each word had been true. He nodded to her, not wanting to make her feel bad for her reaction or even understand his as he started off. He remembered her talking about wanting to take something for her family, he scanned the landscape considering it, then he spotted a tree with lots of fallen branches around it. An idea came to mind as he made his way towards them. "I make gift?" He asked her, "For your family." He had experience of turning nature into braclets and necklaces, weaving strands of long grass through pieces of wood that had been shaped and peeled using his claws... at least they did have a use. He was rather skilled at it too, and even when he lead the rebels he continued to make them as a way to focus his mind.

She had followed him, still blushing and not the least ashamed of her reaction, watching him again as he spoke of making a gift. Her eyes going wide. "Oh... I couldn't put you to the trouble of that Haki... You have been too kind as it is." Feeling guilty for possibly imposing on him more, tohugh she was curious to see what he could make. Eden made all kinds of clever things, maybe he could too... Buting her lip not sure what to do, he seemed so kind and letting him do this seemed like taking advantage of him, especially as she had nothing to give him in return.

He smiled at her, "Worry not... you help." He could tell that she didn't want to take advantage of him, but after the way he made her blush it was the least he could do. She was a rose and he had no right to bruise her petals. He lowered himself to the ground, using his front legs to moved some of the twigs and branches that would have otherwise been under him. His eyes looked over the branches, they seemed a strange colour to him... silver.... silver trees? It was obviously normal here, he had seen several before after all, still it seemed so strange to him. Looking to Heze he nodded his head, "Me you join?" Then he picked up a long branch with his claws and started to strip the bark off to reveal the innocence beneithe it. He wanted to give Heze a job, after all he had told her she would be helping him. Hoping he got the words right he spied some grass nearby, "Can you kill some grass?" He frowned, that didn't sound right, either way he added a, "Please."

Smiling, trying not to laugh at his request. Looking over the branches and thne at the tree. "Birtch... Silver birtch..." Nodding to the wood he was stripping with his claws, watching the long talons work, they looked adept but also dangerous. "I think you meant cut... Cut some grass." Smiling and loking round finding some nice long broard blades of grass, carefully nipping them down low and bringing them over to him, delicately placing each blade near him. Finding herself stairing at his talons as he worked, finding herself very glad he was nice, thinking that as an enermy he could do a lot of harm with those.

Haki frowned, his brow furrowed as she corrected him, he hadn't thought he had got it right.... so the word was 'cut'. He would remember that. While he considered what he had learnt today he continued to work, shaping the wood, cutting it to equal pieces. "Thank you." He said as he heard the soft 'pfft' as the grass was placed beside him on the ground. He turned to look at her only to see a strange look on her face, he looked down at his claws and couldn't help but clench them subconciously... he could tell that a part of her, no matter how small, was thinking about how he could hurt her with those claws... despite being nothing but 'nice' to her and most strangers he met it was the reaction he often got. By nature Haki actually hated violence, and he only partook of it in order to save his people, to aid his course, just like he only ever became the rebel leader in order to help them... someone needed to lead and no one else seemed to be volenteering. Haki focused on his work then, not looking at her again in fear that that look would still be upon her features. Using the grass he weaved the pieces together. And eventually made a small braclet of silver birch, as she had called it. "It..." He started, wondering if he would get the wording right this time. "Needs to out dry." Still he didn't look at her.

Getting down on her nees peering at the bracelet he had made, more fasinated than afraid. "Dry out." Correcting automatically, then gaping. "Sorry, you do really well, you really do." Focusing on his face, her smile fading going serious. "Haki... I.. didn't mean to upset you, I've never seen anyone with feet like yours... But we have a kind of being here.... they have claws... maybe a different kind than yours... but they are evil and kill without care... I'm sorry." Resting her chin on the ground, looking up at him from where she had been kneeling and looking at his work. Looking very sorry for having been stairing. Her eyes gentle and friendly, far from being scared of him, he was jsut so different, and she was young and had not met many that were different.

"It ok." He said to her correcting him, he would rather she did, only then would he actually get it right. Sometimes his logic was the wrong way round with this language. He didn't really know what words to use in her language and so he repeated his last two words again, "It ok." before adding more in his own tongue, "Wewe si wa kwanza wala wa mwisho, hawana hofu mimi kushikilia kuwa si juu yako bali ni juu ya nafsi yangu. Tafadhali nisamehe." (You are not the first and shall not be the last, do not fear I hold it not against you but against myself. Please forgive me.) He held the braclet in his claws for a little while, and would normally have passed it to her but decided to place it before her instead. There was no need to make her nervous again him, especially when he really didn't mean any harm. Still, he understood more as she continued. He knew of what she spoke. "Skinwalker." Though he made it sound more like 'skyweaker' with his accent and the slight growl that carried with his words. He had heard of them from the first time he had entered this land... and this was not the first time he had been examined to check his resemblence to them. From what he had learnt they were able to shapeshift into animals, an ability given to them by evil Gods. He looked up at her, the kindness returning to his eyes. He wanted her to see that he did not blame her for anything, and that he really was fine. It was just hard going from a world where he was normal to one where he was not. "Forgive me."

Heze nodded, he knew od skinwalkers, that was good, she would not want him to be caught ignorant. She smiled softly, giving him a small nuzzle on his hsoulder. "You did nothing wrong, You are as you are supposed to be. Inside and out." Leaning and taking the bracelt carefully from his claws, not flinching or showing any dislike or disgust of them ,carefully placing the small treasure on a flat rock near by where it could dry safely. Smiling at him again. "Inside is what matters." Knowing Eden had had some small trouble with her half kalona mate, the mare had staunchly refused to heed anyone that only saw the outside of the sweet stallion, it had been funny to watch usually distant Eden be so adamant over her mate.

Haki nodded but remained silent, not really sure he had had understood everything completely... or perhaps it was simply because of the communication barrier? The way she touched him and then spoke words with affection in her voice would be cause to begin the 'courting dance' with his people... but somehow he didn't believe that was the case with Heze, it was almost as if touch was something that was given freely, rather than guarded as precious. He could see both sides.. but still, that didn't stop the light blush that clouded his cheeks, or the sharp breath he took as she made contact. Coughing to hide his slight embarassment, he had no idea what to do now.....
