As soon as Michi took off to the cashier with items in hand, Alex stumbled out from behind the shelving and made his way to the door, passing the worker on his way out. He gave the guy a smirk as she passed him, and the worker opened his mouth as though to tell him to leave, but Alex was already making his way out the door.
The look on the workers face was priceless.
He then waited outside for Michi to finish, and when she came out, she handed him the dishes, which he quickly found room for in his almost empty back pack. Why hadn't they at least bagged it up? He didn't want to carry it around for everybody to see! Thankfully he just managed to squeeze it in alongside his skateboard, so that only some of the black stand was left poking out. Satisfied that it would do for now, he slung the back pack over his shoulder again, and smiled down at the ghoul. "Thank you." and then, "Oh..so you've never had a pet before?" Hrm, that was interesting! He hoped she knew how to look after it. He would have reached out to grab her hand but she was too busy snuggling with the foxfire.
"It's pretty late..I think we should head back to the campus now." He suggested, putting his hands in his pockets instead as he began to move towards the doors to go back outside. Once they reached the exit, he grabbed the skateboard out of his backpack once again and plunked it to the ground, ready to roll back to the school.

It didn't take long for the two of them to get back to the campus. Michi had to make sure to keep the fluff ball in a grip of at least one arm at all time though. It kept trying to wriggle and fall to the ground to run off somewhere. But the red skinned ghoul managed, smiling the entire time. She was still unsure what to name it. She grinned up at Alex.
"Any ideas for a name by chance? I'm coming up with really stupid ones." Like Mr. Fluffles. Or Sir Fluffy. And other fluffy related names in her head. Michi had never named a pet, and though she had named her dolls as a child (who had equally horrible names) she wanted to attempt to make an effort with her first little ball of fluff.
And then they were there, standing in the middle of the dorms. She would have to wander off to the demon dorms, and he would wander back to the undead dorms. This had been a wonderful date, not like the typical ones Michi had gone on before. She reached out with her one free hand to grab his and squeezed it lightly.
"Thank you Alexander, for probably one of the best dates I've ever been on." And then she went for it. An actual kiss, leaning up to press her lips on his and actually make something of it. Unlike the kiss they had shared for a split second because she had been excited the first time they had met. Hopefully he'd return this one.

With Alex on his skateboard so that Michi could walk at her usual pace, it really didn't take long to make it back to the school. Alex was, unfortunately, trying very hard not to look at the delicious fluffy morsel that kept attempting to wiggle it's way out of Michi's grasp. He knew if the thing ran he would probably try to hunt it down and so not looking seemed to be the thing to do. Soon enough, however, she was asking him what she should name the little puff-ball.
Dinner, lunch, breakfast, snack, anything along those lines, really....
"I'm honestly quite terrible at naming things." He admitted, finally glancing her direction and very pointedly deciding it would be best if he just looked into her eyes. Such pretty blue eyes she had, perfect for staring into. He felt a warmth creeping up the back of his neck and he finally looked away. They had come to the fork in the road, so to speak. The end of the line, and the end of the evening. He stopped his skateboard and stepped gracelessly off, turning to face Michi and put a halt to the evening.
A few hundred thoughts were racing through his mind at once. Was he supposed to kiss her? Was he not? She'd kissed him once so it should be ok, shouldn't it? Did he just say goodnight and wander off? Should he ask to walk her back to her room? Should he invite her to his room? The questions were threatening to drown his brain. He just stood there, awkwardly wondering what it is he should do.
And then she did it for him, craning herself upwards towards him, pressing her body against his. He could feel the heat even between their clothing, and the poor fluff was going to be crushed between the two of them. He hesitated nervously before bending down and meeting his lips to hers. They were soft and warm, just like the first time, accept this time wasn't over quickly. He found himself feeling awkward and unsure of himself, but then closed his eyes and kissed her back.
At first it just didn't seem all that special, or what he thought it was going to be like, and he wondered what the big deal was. He'd expected to feel something for the ghoul, like a fluttering in his stomach or a tightness in his chest or some kind of excitement. It wasn't like it was a bad kiss or anything, it was nice, it was warm, and it was a completely new experience for the boil. But something was just..lacking. He closed his eyes tighter and kissed her back with a little more passion, reaching up with his arms to wrap around her and...
...and then he was pushing her away, breaking the contact and gasping, his neck, which he had felt the beginnings of warmth on earlier was feeling quite heated now, and it was beginning to slowly work it's way up his face. His circulation was almost non-existent, so for that to happen was fairly rare for the zomboil. He was looking down at her with a strange look in his eyes, and backing away slowly.
"I..I should go. Michi, I...I had a great time, ok?" He frowned, something was clearly troubling him as he leaned his long body down to grab for his skateboard. "I'll see you around.." He said, but he was obviously distracted as he looked past her into the distance and turned to walk away.
The problem was not with Michi though, it was with him. The kiss hadn't gotten exciting for him until the end..
..when he had been thinking about somebody else.

Something was off, something was wrong. She could feel it even as they kissed. For Michi there was something there because... well, why not? The smoke demoness was a young ghoul, full of life and adventure who found herself easily attracted to boils... several of them. Alex was one of the ones she had flirted with who had flirted back with her, and he had been the one to ask her out on a date. Signs were pointing that he could be her next boilfriend. It was exciting!
But there was something wrong. He gasped and pulled away, with a weird look on his face. She blinked a few times, a troubled look on her face as she attempted to snuggle the poof to her chest. What was going on? It had been a perfect date for the red skinned ghoul, something she was starting to hope for in the future.
But that look on his face only brought a single question to her mind. She thought it over and over as she walked to her dorm, the poof in her arms held maybe a little too tightly. He had been upset? Something had freaked him out, with how he had stammered over his words and lurched away. It hurt. But the question she kept asking herself even as she went to her dorm was...
What had she done wrong?
