If Yin could carry an oversized zomboil all the way to the maul he could probably take Miss Danny pretty far but he said nothing on the matter.
"I have not," he replied, slightly uneasy. "May I ask what a taco is?"

Danny remained silent for the rest of the ride, only offering short directions to the Taco Skull. How Yin hadn't even had a taco ... just ...
At one point during the ride, Danny thought for a moment about what she was doing. Wasn't she sad just a few moments ago? She supposed it was a good thing she was smiling, but still. For a moment she pondered what Roch had said about her being close with Yin. She squeezed Yin a little tighter and buried her nose in his hair, careful not to prod his antennae.

Nope, nothing. Absolutely no tingly feelings or warmth like she felt with Rikki. She felt comfier, that was certain, but not special. Not princessy.
Once they arrived Danny hopped off his back and looked at the menu. "We're gonna get you one of everything..." she said absently. She knew what she wanted- about fifty tacos and some potato poppers, but not what Yin wanted. She waited on his response.

Ghouls were weird.
He had no idea what she was doing in his hair. Perhaps fire demons were social groomers. He shrugged off the thought and kept walking, following her directions as necessary. By the time he graduated he was going to be strong just from lugging his friends around.
The place was filled with bizarre smells and he found himself staring openly. So apparently tacos had to do with food. He wish Alexander was there, surely the boil had read about tacos and could tell him about them.
"No, no Miss Danny," he said hastily. "I only consume meat so most of these things are not for me. Besides, we are here for you."

"You're eating a taco," she said flatly, with no expression but seriousness on her face. She meant business.
Walking up to the cashier, she said, "I want ten tacos, and like 5 of those little potato thingies." The cashier was clearly skeptical of her ability to produce the seeds.
Danny wasn't done yet. "Ooh and 4 burritos and seven cinnamon twisties." She smiled sweetly at the cashier, who gave her a no-jacking-way look. When he asked for the money, she opened up her little skull pouch and pulled out an entire bag of seeds. There were at least 50 seeds in there.
The cashier looked baffled for a moment, then grabbed her seeds and gave her the receipt. Danny turned back to Yin and said, "Now we wait." No ifs ands or buts from Yin.

Yin's face clouded as she walked away, every fiber of his being balking at the command. He did not fully trust ghouls with foods. Especially not strange foods.
Remember, you owe Miss Danny. She is eating it as well, it is not likely to be a trick. She is having a rough time, just go with it.
He mentally fought with himself to reason it out as she was at the counter, only giving her a nod when she told him they had to wait. It was unlike any restaurant he had ever been to, somewhat of a cross between a food stall and a place to sit and consume food, and he looked around hesitantly. "Are we supposed to sit?"

"NUMBER SEVEN," a faceless (quite literally) attendant called out, shoving their food on a tray over the counter. Danny went up and grabbed the tray, which was brimming with food now, and stalked past Yin.
She found them a booth. It was low class, made of plastic. Certainly not the place a demon would normally be eating, but then, Danny didn't care. Roch and her came here a lot anyways. She just really liked Taco Skull jackdammit.
Not even waiting for Yin to respond, she pulled out a taco and unwrapped it. Mmmmm tacos. After taking a bite, she said, "Take one!" with a smile. Awww his first taco. How precious.

Yin sat across from her on the booth, perched awkwardly as she started eating. The best thing about tacos was that you apparently did not need to use a fork and knife to eat them. The bad part was that they were obviously not fully meat.
He took one and unwrapped it, starting at it as if it just might jump up and bite him.
It had vegetables on it.
He "accidentally" knocked it on its side so that most of the lettuce fell out, then when Miss Danny seemed intent on her taco he scraped away some more bits of the green junk before taking a bite.
It was not awful, there was meat in it at least, but it was well cooked and surrounded by a shell that was unfortunately not meat. He chewed it quickly, trying not to grimace at the crunching.
Tacos? Not his thing. For his next bite he had a better idea and he lifted the taco and tilted it back, using the hard shell as a funnel for the meat it contained. There were a few shreds of lettuce, but they were mostly concealed by the meat. He merely hoped that they would not make him sick later on.

Danny could tell he didn't like it. sure he was eating it, but he wasn't bursting into rainbows and happiness like she'd expected.
On the outside, she just smiled at him eating the taco all weird like. Maybe he was a picky eater? Danny was used to the likes of Roch and Nahm who ate EVERYTHING, so seeing someone not like something was a bit ... foregin. On the inside?
She mourned the loss of another taco lover.
By this time Danny was on her second taco, and itchy to open the cheesy potatoes. She nudged the burrito towards Yin. "Try that," she said, mouth half full.

Yin set aside the shell, trying not to think about how much food he was wasting, and unwrapped the burrito. This one had a different sort of casing and was soft. Picking it up gingerly he accidentally speared it with his finger, and something began oozing out. He was somewhat repulsed but he took a bite quickly before he could regret it.
It was weird. There was a weird blend of the shell with various dairy products, but with an underlying taste of meat. As a whole it was not as bad as the initial bite of the taco he had taken. After he had chewed and swallowed he spoke up, trying to make conversation. "This cuisine is very unique. I have never tried anything like it."

Danny was just crying. HOW COULD HE NOT LIKE IT? It was a taco. A burrito. This was painful to watch.
Her last hope were the cinammon twisties. Danny could already tell Yin wouldn't like the cheesy potatoes. Besides, she wanted them all for herself.
Working on another taco, she said, "Try these. There's no way you won't like them." Danny, on the other hand, was eating through the food like a monster. Like G, to be specific. She couldn't help it; she was depressed, and eating helped.

Yin eyed what she had gestured at. He could tell by the look and by the fact that they gave off very little scent to him that they did not contain meat.
"I am actually not too hungry Miss Danny." It was not a complete lie, he was not starving. Nurse Cricket's skills that she had taught him when they were alone together had seen to that. He tried not to shiver at the thought of her gentle touches on his face and chest. There was no reason to remember that.
A shiver? Was he sick? Maybe he should go see Nurse Cricket...
"Besides, this way there will be more food for you," he added with a smile. Though, if she ate all that she ordered he doubted that he could carry her all the way back to the school.

Danny stared at Yin with sad eyes. It just wasn't as fun when the other person wasn't eating. She thought of Roch and smiled. He would eat the extras with her! He always ate her extra stuff.
The fire demonness began compiling the extras, getting them ready to take out the door. "More for Roch you mean!" she said, laughing.
Finally she picked up the rest of it, and began her trek to the door. "Coming?" she said, perkier than before, but still not quite her obnoxious self. Maybe that was for the better. Now she was at a decibel that not only dogs could hear.

Yin was suddenly extremely tempted to shove the last few burritos and possibly several tacos into his mouth, lettuce and all. But at least Miss Danny was laughing, which was a clear improvement.
