Harrison wrangled Killer from where he was tied up, and tucked the herpicorn protectively under one arm, like a very fat football.

"These are Clarice's experiments," he said.

When Jove tore into the infirmary, he was shocked to discover that humans were even more awful than he had imagined. Instead of rows of beds with cozy dark spaces, there were steel contraptions holding the beds up, hard metal railings, and no space at all for a scared little foxfire to hide away. It was TERRIBLE. Counters took the place of tables and desks, and there were no blankets or sheets hanging down to obscure anything.
Little claws skittered on the floor as he turned the corner, and finally saw a dark space under a stainless steel cart. It's lowest shelf was just high enough for two foxfires to hide under. So he zoomed under, followed by the fruit foxfire. Who panted and wagged it's tail, making a dull THUMPTHUMPTHUMP noise against the shelf until Jove gave it a warning growl.
He took a moment to gather his thoughts, trying to ignore the happy face of the dumb pup next to him.

Her injuries were healing well, but she still needed the occasional trip to the infirmary, just to be on the safe side; it would be bad if any of these injuries end up affecting her future performance, after all... She wasn't about to let any of those Halloween creatures get the better of her. Not anymore.
However, as she walked into the normally relatively empty room, she quickly realized that there seemed to be something going on inside... Not that she could figure out what just by looking.
"... What are you guys doing."

Jordan looked up from where he was checking yet another cabinet. "Um," he said, and made a quick decision. "There's two escaped minipets in here. The little fluffy foxfire things. We're trying to find them. So we can take them back to the labs." He put a little extra emphasis on the last sentence; if Dakota or Eva really wanted to take the creatures back to Julie, they could feel free to argue the point, but he really didn't feel like hauling the creatures back to their doom.

"Oh, Clarice's minipets?" Ariane hummed, looking mildly concerned as she walked over to one of the cabinets "Better get to it fast then... Clarice told me once that minipets that had been out of their cages for too long will start to melt." She might had shuddered at the thought of foxfires melting, only because they have those soulless, adorable eyes and that dorky expression...
Moving over to one of the cabinets, she begun to look through the shelving for some first aid supplies, frowning when she couldn't find any... Which led her to push the nearby push cart away...
...
"I think I just found them," She kept her eyes on the fluff balls, just in case they tried to bolt, "Two of them, right?"

For a second two identical wide-eyed faces peered up at Ariane in surprise. And then one smiled a dopey smile.

The Moon Hunter's usual smile turned suddenly a little too sweet as she turned to Harrison, one hand still holding a Fear-stained knife, staring at the trainee as an owner would to a disobedient puppy. "Come here with the minipet Stevie, come here."
Though the volume and general tone of her voice did not change, there was just something not right about it.

Harrison wasn't an ace detective or anything, but he was pretty sure Clarice didn't give the order to have her experiments made into red paste in the kitchen at 3 in the morning. There weren't even any...clipboards or fancy pins or whatever you use for doctory ripping things open.
"Killer's not getting anywhere near you. Besides, he's dangerous."
Harrison seemed really serious about that last part. Killer made a nervous whickering noise and tried to lick Harrison's armpit.

"Stevie," Julie repeated again, this slightly more ominously, "Please don't make me come there and get you."
When Harrison didn't seem in any sort of proposition to move, the Moon Hunter simply walked closer, large kitchen knife still in one hand. Something was dripping off the bladed tip, staining the floor with red splatters to decorate the blotches - except that minipets actually didn't really bleed, so where the red came from was another matter entirely.
Tap. One step closer. Tap-tap. Another step closer. Five more steps and she was standing right in front of Harrison, knife gleaming as she raised it-
- and put it back in her apron pocket. From her other pocket, she pulled out a set of pink hair clips, clipping some to the Moon Hunter trainee's hair. "There we go, that's much better." Never mind that Harrison didn't really have hair that really needed clipping.
A strange fizzling noise distracted Julie for just a second as she was in the process of pulling out more hairclips to decorate her victim's scalp with. She pursed her lips as she stared somewhere in the vague direction of Harrison's elbow. "Now see what you've done, it's spent too much time outside the cage and is now dissolving."
And Killer was indeed, dissolving into a black misty nothingness.

Harrison looked understandably wary as Julie walked up...and began to decorate his hair.
"What I did? You're the one who- s**t," He turned back to the counter, and grabbed one of the remaining smaller, mostly-empty cages on the counter with his free hand, fiddling with the latch.
He didn't know if the small cages even did anything, or if he needed to get the remaining minis back to the Labs ASAP. At three in the morning, he didn't even know if he could get into the labs. His administrative privileges were zero.
Harrison dumped Killer inside, hoping it would forestall the dissolving process. He watched for a few anxious seconds, then rounded on Julie.
"You got into the labs. We have to take them back," he said.

The Moon Hunter simply picked up the cage and set it back on the counter. On the bright side, at least Killer had stopped dissolving. She paused for a second upon listening to Harrison's rather adamant instructions before deciding to do what she did best: absolutely ignoring them. "Yes, that's nice." Julie dismissed entirely, thankfully forgetting entirely that she was supposed to be gutting a specific kind of minipet. "How about a mission Stevie? If you fetch me those cute minipets that the trainees brought home and bring them back here, I will call Clarice or someone to pick them up, okay?"
A winning smile. A winning Julie smile. "Or you can call anyone yourself to help put the extra minipet supplies away... though it is so very late."

"Not like we never get late-night calls," Harrison grumbled, eyeing Julie and taking out his phone. He knew somebody that would help him no matter how late it was.
He condensed the gravity of the situation into six words.Eight killers gonna die need help @ kitchen ): He hesitated before he typed in any more numbers, asking Julie, "What minipets? You want a hostage exchange?" If she was asking him to break into the lab and steal somebody else's experiments for what remained of Clarice's...well, he'd think about it.

It wasn't the time that mattered to Candace, it was the timing. She had actually been sleeping, curled up happily in her bed having very, very pleasant dreams until he text tone of her phone startled her awake. Huh?! What?! She looked beside her to find she was in her own bed. Alone. Damnit! It'd been a dream?! Son of a...! Whoever texted her had better have a damn good reason for doing so. ...Okay Harrison could wake her anytime. Wait. Killer? Why was Killer in the kitchen?! And at his hour?! What the hell, Harrison! Candace sighed and threw her coat and scarf on over her pajamas, glad she'd opted for actual pajamas and not the nighties she wore for Jerry. She didn't even put on proper shoes, just a pair of fuzzy purple slippers and then finally Atropos' rings. It didn't take her long to hurry to the kitchen, but she did linger at the door to just stare with horror at the sight before her. What the hell was this?! A butcher shop run by Julie?! Where did this blood come from oh god what is this mess! "What's...why are these minipets out of the labs?" Candace was so confused. No wonder Killer was going to die!

And then they were in the kitchen, Gale standing next to Ariane and staring down at the little fluffy minipets as he leaned to try and grab one.
He was starting to get a headache.
"Can I go back to bed now?"

Julie wasn't too sure what Harrison meant by 'hostage exchange', that is, until Candace walked in, looking well, reasonably confused. The Moon Hunter brightened considerably. "Oh I get it, your giving me your friend Tracey for this minipet."
Wait who on earth was-
- Without another word, Julie latched onto Candace, and pulled the Mist Hunter trainee towards the counter, giving Harrison a nod of approval as she gestured towards the counter. Harrison could take Killer now, the payment was fair.
Before Candace could say another word, Julie had already handed the trainee the eggbeater and a large metal bowl of questionable contents. Yes, those were indeed tentacles sticking out along with... various tiny organs. "Make sure to mix thoroughly Tracey, these need to be mixed for at least two hours."
