[Nanashi Kage Enjeru]

((Nurse Joy is so going to be all WTH? when she gets up. Instant coffee everywhere, trail mix, mini muffins, scribbles on her desk, and whatever else we get up to! *giggles*))

The tip of Tenka's pencil broke. He tried rubbing the broken end against the counter, but nothing happened. Then he rubbed the eraser against the counter. At first this just made a filmy streak, but when he rubbed it over a mark he had made earlier, the mark got paler. Seeing this, he rubbed the eraser more firmly against the mark, and it went away. "Hey, the other end makes the marks go away!"

Maya blinked " thats a neat trick" she said and sniffed at the eraser, wondering what it was made of " it dosent smell very good..." she said making a face

Tenka sniffed his own eraser. "No, it doesn't. It kinda smells a little burnt."

Maya nodded her agreement then discarded her pencil haphazardly and scurried to another section of the desk. Here there was a pile of spiral bound notebooks and binders. She placed a paw on the paper and examined it " hey look, there's a bunch of those marks all over this thingy"

Tenka walked over, accidentally bumping the computer mouse along the way. The computer monitor came to life, a locked screen with a password box displayed, not that Tenka could read it. Tenka leaped away from the suddenn light, tail puffing with fright.

Maya jumped a bit, more because she hadn't been expecting Tenka to move so suddenly than because of the computer. She stepped forward cautiously and sniffed at the machine. In an attempt to get closer to the screen she stepped onto to keyboard and looked down when she felt the keys move when she placed her weight on them " now what could this be used for?" she asked pressing more keys with her front paws

Tenka quickly smoothed his tail and came closer. Reaching a paw out, he tapped a key and felt it sink for a moment before it sprung back. "" Tenka said, somewhat confused.

Maya giggled as she pressed more keys " i dont know either, but its kinda fun" she said " Humans really are strange"

Tenka nodded. "They really kind of are." Something fluttered in the slight breeze from the air conditioner. Tenka abandoned the keyboard to examine it. A box, with a fluttery white thing sticking up out of it. Tenka grabbed the fluttery thing and pulled. It came free, leaving another fluttery thing sticking up. Tenka grabbed his piece and tugged with both paws. It tore easily. Grinning, Tenka shredded the flimsy thing. Gathering the shreds in a pile, he realized it was pretty soft. "Hey Maya, they keep nest lining in boxes! Come see!"

Maya reluctantly left the keyboard and made her way to the object in question. She reached out a paw to grasp one of the sheets " ooh, its soft!" she said and pulled one out herself and began to shred it, making a pleased sound. " well looks like humans make useful things too!" she commented, continuing to shred the flimsy paper

"Yeah, this stuff is great! You know, that food was kinda cool too. If you stored it without opening it, no one would be able to smell your food stash," Tenka pointed out. "Though, I wonder, why do they have nest material so far from anywhere that looks like a good spot for a nest?" Tenka looked around, but the counter was smooth and flat, and the material was too hard to dig in to create a burrow.

Maya nodded " thats a good point!" she said reminding herself to snag a few of those packages before she returned. She cast around her gaze " i don't know, it does seem kind of silly, dosent it?"

"Maybe...that's why they are sheets? So the nest material is easy to carry?" Tenka suggested. "I mean, you could carry four or five sheets pretty easily, and not be nesting too close to the area where all the other pokemon would be coming for nest material?" Tenka said slowly, as he tried to work it out.

Maya nodded, that could be it. " i suppose, or maybe the humans bring it to the pokemon? " she was equally confused by this, she decided she would never be able to understand why humans did anything.

A red button caught Tenka's eye. Wandering over, he looked at it. There was some sort of marking around it, but as he couldn't read, he had no way of knowing it said "For service at night or when Nurse Joy is away from counter, please press button." Curious, he pressed it. As far as he could tell, nothing happened. "What do you think this does?" Tenka said.
