Dakota nodded at her before cocking his head. "A light shock eh?" He looked at the Torch before flipping Chama out of her sheath on his leg. The small dagger seemed to protest to anything adding to her flame but Dakota was damn curious to see just what it did for his baby.
"That's alright Ma'am. Chama and I are no stranger to Fire after all...." Dakota grinned as the torch lit up, FEAR flames licking at Chama's blade, coating it. While Chama's normal flame that cover it was a orange yellow, the flame from the torch almost seemed a darker red white.
"Well damn." Dakota grinned as the flames transferred over.
Runic Enhancement? Damage: +3 for Two Turns?

"The color of the flame can vary from weapon to weapon," Aria explained. "The effect will remain on your weapon until you use it, or until you dismiss your weapon. As the flame isn't part of your weapon's normal Fear, it will expel itself. Despite this, there is the possibility of accidentally catching yourself on fire. Whenever any of you use a torch, I advise you to use extreme caution. And if you do burn yourself..." She grinned. "Don't tell anyone how you got burned. Make something up. Either way, thank you for volunteering."
"Are there any questions before we move on?"

"If you do not mind," said a very familiar sort of voice, "I would like to assist in your demonstration."
Perhaps the trainees had been too focused on Aria's lesson at hand, or perhaps Caelius was secretly a ninja, which really, would not have been too surprising considering everything else he did, or occasionally, did not do. There was however, no way of ignoring his presence sticking out like a sore thumb as he strode towards Aria, pretty much shoving Dakota to one side via entering front stage.
He did not wait for an answer, his stare fixated on the Mist Hunter lead instead. "In fact, I was under the impression that you invited me for a duel. After all that you put me through I found it very difficult to decline your offer." The Death Hunter ignored every other trainee gathered around as he summoned his weapon, the scythe circling wide, curved blade nearly grazing a good population of the trainees as he waited for her first move. The tension could pretty much be cut with a single bat of the eye - there was no friendliness between the two. The "sparring demonstration" was really a means - by all means - in beating down the other with everyone else caught in the brewing maelstrom.

Dakota whipped Chama around, feeling for the first time, a lick of heat like the one from this childhood. It was rare for him to look at his weapon with fear but for a moment, thats what he felt. He had been burned before and badly, would he have to worry about Chama like that in battle?
He looked over at Aria with a grin though, very much inclined to bow his head at her. She wasn't too bad for a Leader before moving to ask her a question. Though before he could even get a answer out, He was shoved to the side by Caelius and helpless to watch as Circe was summoned.
He barely tilted his head back far enough as Circe swung around, whistling as it grazed by him before staring. Damn, he knew Caelius was a p***k most the time but he obviously was a king p***k to Aria. Made him wonder what the Mist hunter did to piss him off?

Before was about to attempt to join the demonstration, or at least approach Aria to ask if he could still join in. But then Caelius showed up and while Before generally doesn't give two ******** about the Deather leader's opinions of him and his fellow trainees, there were weapons drawn out.

Aria gave Caelius her best knock-out smile that didn't quite reach her eyes as he volunteered. "Why Caelius, what a pleasure it is to see you out here away from your mirror. What with how busy you were lately, I didn't know if you would keep me waiting like you always do."
her weapon growled.
The reminder made Aria's eyes go wide, the expression shifting to feign innocence as Caelius' accusation sunk in. "Whatever do you mean all that I put you through, Caelius? Was everything not going to your plan? Is there a hair out of place? Poor, poor Caelius." She summoned her weapon, ignoring the fact that the rune on her flamethrower wasn't glowing as brightly as it did before. She began to circle him, her eyes flickering from his scythe to him and back. Where to begin? "I believe there has been a mistake."
Aria whipped her flamethower up and pulled the trigger, aiming low to burn his legs.
HP: 100/100
Dmg: 13/2 -> 6.5 round up to nearest whole number -> 7.
Status: 1/2 damage this round (THANKS JORDAN!)

The flames grazed his right leg, though the damage was deflected by Circe's Fear shield. If anything, the Death Hunter was oddly playing defensively, instead choosing to take a second to observe Aria's attack, before moving out of range a little further.
"I heard your weapon is a twin weapon, that is an interesting convenience now isn't it?" He moved to one side and pulled out both barrier daggers, taking a second longer to find an opening between the flames to drop both daggers precisely to the left and right of the Mist Hunter lead. They crackled slightly, licking at Aria's weapon, though they showed no visible signs of damaging anything, thankfully.
The scythe weapon simply pointed blade-end downwards: he was still waiting, looking for something.

And now they we're fighting. Dakota took this time to move back to the other trainee's, coming to stand by Marcus and Wilson again before frowning.

The barriers sprung into place, and Aria danced backwards on reflex. Damn! We'll need to break through, she thought, raising her flamethrower towards the barrier that separated her and Caelius. "What an interesting rumor. Where did you hear that?" Aria asked.
She pulled the trigger, the flames creating a thin coat of ice on the inside of the barrier she was trapped in. Symph. Records. Would he...?
HP: 100/100
Dmg: 3, nulled by barrier
Status: Barrier'd!

Marcus HAD been enjoying the education exercise. He HAD been learning, aiming to better himself as a hunter. What he HAD NOT wanted to have happen was watch two leaders go at each other. Dakota, the poor guy was close and just- Maybe it was the fact he kind of liked Dakota. Maybe it was because Dakota was also a moon hunter. Grabbing the guy by the arm he was set on putting some more distance between him and the division leaders.
In a low voice he tried to figure it out. Dis wasn't helping. "I honestly have no idea but-" A glance at them. "get some distance ya?"

Reine straightened up when Caelius appeared, his presence somehow changing the atmosphere, and not merely because he'd almost cut her as well. With a yelp she scurried further away to watch the battle; come to think of it, she didn't think she had ever seen him fight, much less with another division leader.
This would be worth watching, for sure; she was glad she decided to come. They hadn't learned as much as she would have liked about the runic weapons, but fights like this you just couldn't pass up watching.
Especially not when interesting details were being dropped, like the words 'twin weapons'. She nudged Alynthe, but the apophis was fixated, as well, and offered no answer. Or perhaps she had no idea, either. Twin weapons. Reine shuddered a little, imagining herself and Petra as weapons- what would they be like?

Wilson gawked at his division leader’s sudden arrival. He looked back and forth between Gale and Marcus. “When the heck did he get here?” He asked, his voice a low whisper for fear of Caelius overhearing. Although he stepped toward Dakota, the boy had already gotten up and returned to his side, wondering about a ‘twin’ weapon. “I’m not too sure,” he confessed, an uneasy stare switching between both of the leaders as they began to spar (though to be honest Aria’s comments were damn amusing).
“I didn’t even know there could be ‘twin’ weapons, but since they are Halloween creatures...” He looked over at Marcus and nodded, taking a few steps backwards. “Sounds like a good idea.”

Stiffening at the sight of Caelius, Deryk glanced between the two higher ups a little cautiously. He didn't really like where this was going. Especially when they started to fight one another. Overhearing Marcus, he decided backing the hell up was indeed a very good idea.
So he backed away from the two leaders, not wanting to get caught up in any crossfire.
"Twin weapon... don't think it's like. Dual wielding? Some hunters dual wield. Odd way of saying it though," he suggested. That's all he could think of for 'twin' weapon. Come to think of it, it would be pretty badass to have dual flamethrowers.
Fire everywhere.
It also sounded like a bit of a hazard.

Satisfied at seeing Aria's attack at a further range, Caelius settled in for close combat, his weapon one step ahead of him as he swung the scythe blade upwards, forcing the Mist Hunter lead to take the defensive. There was a loud clatter as both weapons collided, the noise not unfamiliar at all to a couple of trainees, the deja vu from the Haunted House incident was no coincidence.
"If your weapon is indeed a twin," there was an even louder scraping noise as the Death Hunter pushed further, both weapons still locked together, "Then it has a rather unfortunate weakness." He was more than happy to provoke Aria to get exactly what he was looking for. "I am wondering if twin weapons have the same sort of weaknesses when destroyed. It would be interesting to .... see its effect on a non-Halloween host." His grip did on Circe not falter.
