The baku considered his words in silence, absently chewing at each piece of meat that she brought to her mouth. Yes...yes, it would be nice to open up a small business like that in the future. She could cook, do some baking for desserts...and maybe even smoosh her tea brewing skills into such a place as well.
Lost in her thoughts, she didn't speak, but perhaps it was just as well--the silence between her and her guest did not, in her mind, feel like an awkward silence, but a peaceful one. It wasn't until she finished her meal and heard Yin speak up did she finally jolt to attention. "I--oh! I just wash them in the sink." Done with her own meal, she pushed her chair out and stood up. Stacking her teacup on top of her plate with her fork and knife, she grinned at the boil from across the table and leaned over.
"Um, allow me!" She held her hand out for his empty plate.

"Most certainly not!" he almost sounded offended at the suggestion as he stood. "You have done me a great service by cooking for me, at least allow me to clean up the mess." He took her dishes, laying them across one overly large palm before stacking his own up and picking them up as well.
Going to the kitchen slowly he found the sink, carefully setting them down before searching for the soap and a rag. It took a bit of time to figure everything out but how it worked was similar to his own. Soon he had a fairly good soapy lather worked up, cleaning the dishes until they were sparkling before setting them aside to dry.

"Ah! B-but..." Eyes wide, the baku trotted after him, hovering at his side anxiously as he stopped in front of the sink. Her voice was weak as she began to protest, "Y-you're my guest! You shouldn't have to..."
Xiu didn't sound as insistent as she usually would have, probably because she knew that Yin wouldn't be swayed no matter what she said. With nothing else to do, she waited until he was done washing the dishes (at least there weren't too many of them!) before offering the boil a grateful smile. "Thank you for washing the dishes. And I really am glad that you enjoyed the meal--if you'd like to borrow my kitchen to, er, cook your rats in the future, please let me know."
She tried not to think about what would happen if the monster dorm ever ran out of rats somehow.

The mantodae boil let his hands drip dry for a moment before wiping them onto his shirt, which was possibly a horrifyingly unclean thing to do but he would not be doing anything else. "It was but a small gesture," he insisted. He left off how if he had let her do everything he would have felt like he owed her even more, and that doing this small act was actually making him feel better.
"I must thank you for the kind offer Miss Xiu-Ying," he said as he carefully navigated around her to get closer to the door. "If you find yourself in need of assistance I would not mind listening to your request." It was not a promise to help, he thought, rather pleased with himself for his phrasing, but it was an offer of some sort. He placed a closed fist against his open palm and bowed slightly, just as he would have done to a worthy opponent. "Good day." And with that he quickly left the room before she could stop him, heading out of the dorm and into the sunset.
