With a smile, Julio received and returned that kiss. "You too," he said quietly before turning to see their first opponent of the afternoon. A pretty scary creature it was indeed. He thought of attacking, but there were many others doing that right this moment. Quickly, he scanned the battlefield before spinning his staff and slamming the bladed end into the ground. A barrier formed around himself and another hunter. A good defense needed as well. "It's too bad we couldn't get a better looking creature to warm up on. Ah well." HP: 40 USING BARRIER EFFECT - take no damage the next 2 turns.

HP: 40/40 DMg: 8 Boss HP: 127? - 8 = 119 Weighted chains in effect: 1/2 After yanking down the chains on the shadow Dylan cried out a bird cry triumphantly and took whatever end of the chains were still loose to whip them back at the thing where it stood.

Mercutio saw the darkness forming in the portal before Lucas even saw it, but didn't respond nearly as quickly as the older man. Well damn. Looks like the old dog did know some new tricks.
Then again, maybe Merc was just slow. As he stood up, he wasted no time getting closer to the monster- and Lucas. He swung his sword in the monster's direction, but with the recoil he received he wasn't even sure if it connected.
Surprisingly, Lucas' taunts worked somewhat well. Probably because Merc thought they were all in jest. "Well you know what they say. Can't teach an old dog new TRICKS," he grunted, attempting to whack the monster.Merc's HP: 35/40 Damage: 13

James Dean and Flammenwerfer burst into their familiar blue light. Mark twirled both torches, thinking, and then spun around to rake one of them across one of the daggers Heidi was holding out. "Throw it!" he shouted, before disappearing into the mass of hunters to look for a clear shot. (( HP: 40/40

Suddenly her daggers felt warmer, not hot just warmer. Her eyes widened and she grinned at Mark. "Thanks!" And then she did just that. She jumped back away from the portal and flung the dagger straight at the creature.
"We can't be picky, Julio." Heidi chuckled, watching as the burning dagger embedded itself into the creature's shoulder. She smirked. "Gotcha."

If it were any bit fleshy he would expect to see prints left in it but the thing was so dark and alien. Inside he was terrified of the thing but he wouldn't let it show in front of his comrades.

Remy cast a glance towards Julio, giving him a nod of thanks for casting Barrier. Those hooked chains lashed out once more, clipping the clawed monster on its leg before she drew them back towards her, preparing for another attack.

Once the Fear Hunters all left through the portal, Melly sort of stood there in her spot nervously for a few minutes - just waiting for something to happen. This felt like one of those times when ... something was pretty much guaranteed to happen. Something bad. And then a monster came through the portal.
And Melly yelled another Japanese phrase, this time choosing to throw a dagger instead of charging at it. Then she pumped a fist into the air when the dagger scored a fairly solid hit. This wasn't so bad.

"I know. I know. But it'd be nice to have something a little easier on the eyes," Julio said with a little sigh. Shrugging a bit, he brought his staff out of the ground before turning towards the creature.
"But, ugly or not, they all must go. I suppose it doesn't make too much of a difference in the end."
That said, he stepped forth and sliced at the creature, landing a relatively solid blow.
"Still would be nice though, you know?"

The torch was overflowing with fire and Mark didn't hesitate to waste half of it on trying to barbecue the creature. Maybe it was because the flame was new, but it wasn't particularly effective yet.

Lucas had to admit that the younger man had landed a good solid blow on the creature. But he didn't have to admit it out loud. "Watch your stance," he barked, despite that sword-work was one of his worst weapon areas and he hadn't been looking to see if anything was wrong or not. "What do they even teach you lot anymore?" he groused as he opened up his shotgun and loaded in another bullet with the ease that could only come from repetition. It never hurt to be fully loaded. "Maybe you should try that again, I'll just step back and let the younger generation get their first taste of battle." And he literally took one precise step back. HP: 35/40

After the creature emerged from the portal Eliza looked over at the others as they started to attack the others. Well she could only hope to land a solid hit on the creature that was appearing aiming her daggers at the beast she threw them.

Gabby couldn't help but notice the thin Hunter's condition. Don't worry, Gabby's got your back. Some strides later, the Mist Hunter grabbed hold of the Death Hunter, "Hold up a minute, let me patch you up some before you go running off again," she frowned.

Jamisson moved up behind the girls, standing over Gabby and Heidi he let loose a series of shots from his revolvers. When one ran out he unloaded the bullets from Caine raising Abel to take over as he did so.
"Patch it up good Gabby, clean it if you can no point stitching her up if you let her die of infection a day later!" He spun trying to get a line on the monster as it slipped through cutting past him causing him to stumble a bit.
