Hel just stared back at Austin with a heated, narrowed gaze.
She tilted her head as the two seemed to be arguing about something, and then shifted her attention to Roch, giving the boil a smile as her eyes warmed. “Do not worry about it, friend, you go and enjoy yourself, alright? I will be fine.”

"Yeah, you should definitely spend tonight with Mot," Roch said, realizing it. "And I'm sure you've already done a ton of cooking. But--he should at least buy you bus fair," he said to his dad, stubbornly.
"Fine," Austin said, digging out his wallet. "I'd rather she didn't meet the old geezer, anyway," he added, counting out a few seeds.

Hel chuckled. “Ah, that’s not it…I spent the night when him last night…and we didn’t really make any plans for the tonight…” She shrugged, and then looked thoughtful. “…Oh…I have not done any cooking! None at all, Roch!” Hel looked a bit stunned at this.
As Austin started to dig out some seeds though, Hel stubbornly refused. “Keep your seeds, sir, I do not need anything from you. I’ll fly back.”

"See? Problem solved," Austin said callously. "C'mon, kid, time to get to Christmastival dinner."
Roch scowled. "Hel, y'wanna come to dinner with us? My granddad's ghoulfriend is cooking. Course, you probably won't wanna come, since my dad's an a**."

Hel honestly did consider Roch’s offer, but after pondering it over for a moment…he’d probably have a better time trying to bond with his father without her there. Hel couldn’t promise she’d be on her best behavior with Austin there. The older grim just bothered her too much to be civil. The reaper grinned. “ I truly appreciate the offer, friend, and it is very kind and generous of you, but I shall pass, okay? Go spend time with your family, Jack knows after what happened, we all need it.” Her eyes trailed thoughtfully back to the grocery section of WallowMart. “… and maybe I’ll go make something for Mot and I for dinner tonight.” She seemed pleased at this thought. “ Ah! But before you go!” Hel’s tongue stuck out in concentration as she dug through her messenger bag, and after a moment she produced a package wrapped in purple and silver paper, and presented it to Roch. “ Happy Christmastival!” Inside, the punk reaper would find this:

Roch opened it, his eyes lighting up. "Wow, Hel... thanks," he said, holding it up and admiring it. "Uh, I don't got yours here," he admitted. "I left it back home. I'll have to get it to you later, okay?"

Hel just beamed with pride as Roch opened his gift and admired it. The ghoul gave a dismissive wave of her hand. “No worries, friend!” She was rather excited though, Roch was giving her a present yay ~
“Whenever it happens, it happens.” Until then, things were all good.
