"Yeah? What happened over there?" he asked curiously as he went to his table to get his supplies ready. He brought over a tray of piercings for her to look at before he started getting a new needle ready. There was a casualness but thoroughness to his moves, and he was ready a few moments later, looking at the tray over her shoulder.
"Have you picked what you want?" Roch asked, going over to look as well.

"Christmas Town attacked. I think," Taryn shrugged. It had been hard to figure out, really, and then it had all ended so quickly. "We were stuck inside a snowglobe, and had to battle Christmas creatures who were slowly--" Did the average Halloweener know about Insanity? Probably not.
"Getting more vicious. We made it out, though! We're all okay, and we won." She did, however, show him a scar on her arm that had not healed entirely properly.

"Hmmm," he said, looking at the bandage. "Sounds like a busy Christmastival," he decided, bringing up a marker and drawing a dot on her nose before showing her a mirror. "Right there?" he asked.
"I like this one," Roch said, taking the studs from Taryn and pointing at a pretty green stone. "But if you're going for traditional, you could get this one or this one."

"Hmm? Oh! I didn't know I had a choice," Taryn admitted, then looking into the mirror and grinning up at Piers with a nod, "Perfect." Her attention turned back to Roch and she poked out her lips. "What I read just showed a normal silver stud... I dunno, I just assumed. I really like green..." As if it wasn't obvious in her wardrobe.
"How much is this one?" she asked, pointing to the green stone and looking back up at her piercer.

"It's fifteen for the normal stud, twenty for the stone, and another twenty for the piercing," Piers said, waiting for her reply.
"I can get it if you don't have the seeds," Roch offered, already digging in his pocket. "It's no biggie, I can pick it up later easily."

"Oh, no, I've got it," Taryn nodded. For once, she would indulge. "I'll take the green one, if we can." The still remarkably calm ghoul kicked her feet casually and reached for Roch's hand. She may need it in a moment, right?

This... this was weird, Roch admitted silently, watching Taryn's reaction to the massive demon. She looked perfectly happy, almost like a little ghoul with her favorite uncle... He remembered when she first met him, she had been so nervous and could barely look at him, and if you asked him, this guy was WAY more terrifying looking than a sixteen year old punk...
But... well, it'd be easier with her so happy, right? He took her hand, grinning slightly.
"This might be a bit painful," Piers warned her as he got the cork and needle ready. "You ready?"

It couldn't be bad. Taryn gripped Roch's hand hard regardless and nodded, still smiling.

The needle pierced through her nose, sliding through and getting caught with the cork. He finished it off quickly, then stepped back and offered a mirror again. "It suits you," he said. "Your boilfriend's got a good eye."
"Ah, we're just friends," Roch said, a hint of red creeping up the back of his neck.

Although initially Taryn's face twisted, once the needle was in and moving she decided it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone had made her think it might be. Her eyes were watering, but her grip on Roch loosened and she smiled. Oh, good! She looked in the mirror, turning her head this way and that and nodding.
"I like it." She turned to Roch then, not correcting Piers but just laughing and wiping her eyes. Poor Roch.

"It looks good on you," Roch said, honestly. "Anything else you wanna get pierced before we go?"
Piers was pulling out a bottle of cleaning fluid and a sheet of instructions, which he handed over to Taryn. "You'll need to turn the piercing regularly, and clean it twice a day with this," he started out, giving her the usual lecture for piercings. "Keep healthy, don't get a cold or anything, got it? And if you have any problems be sure to go straight to a healer."

Taryn snorted and shook her head. No, this was good enough for her. Soreness was starting to set it, but it was only a reminder of what she had just done. It was kind of nice.
"Alright," she nodded, taking the sheet from Piers and beginning to look it over. Yes, she'd read about all this stuff. "Thanks! So do we pay you or at the front desk, or...?"

"You can pay at the front desk," Piers said, dropping down on his stool. "If you've got any other questions, I'm sure your friend here knows a lot, right?"
"Ah, yeah," Roch admitted. "She'll be fine. C'mon, Taryn, let's go." He reached for her hand, tugging her out of the chair.
"You sure you're just friends?" Piers teased shamelessly.
"We're just friends!" Roch repeated, giving him a dark look before heading for the front desk.

Taryn gave a rich, happy laugh and allowed herself to be tugged to the front desk without another word. She wouldn't admit it, but she rather liked seeing Roch teased. The boil seemed so unshakable on a normal day, and now she was pretty certain he was blushing.
Once they had reached the front, Taryn reached into her seed purse and counted out forty. "I think this is it?" she said to the demon ghoul somewhat hesitantly. She'd been so involved in getting pierced that she'd half-forgotten the price quoted to her.
