Kyndall smiled at Alex and came to be introduced to Lily. She greeted her warmly, appreciating Alex's taste in people that included herself and her daughter. But, all the same, she was happy to be by Tony's side among people she cared for and laughed at his question. Of course the city was too small! Everyone would always know each other.
"Alexandre here saved me from a very dull art show and proved to be rather skilled in debate." She let her eyes sparkle. "We must do it again sometime and why haven't I seen you at the King Arthur auditions?"
She never missed an opportunity to go after what she wanted. She was rather certain if he didn't respond to her she could call up Gently and invite her to be co director and overwhelm the poor guy with "encouragement." The poor guy would be on stage if she had to pull him onto it herself. She knew he had the noble qualities needed to play a knight or even Arthur himself.
She fixed her eyes on Tony realizing he and Lily seemed to know each other well. She supposed it was from the library. He was in a rather public position and it wasn't hard to imagine that he knew a lot of people she wasn't aware of.
"Speaking of small towns, how do you and Lily know each other?"

"No, I don't think anything could bring Lily's niceness down. She is very likeable." He didn't see how anyone could not like Lily, she was just that sort of people. As he spoke he gave a smile to his red headed friend. "I assume though by the way you speak your son isn't easy to get alone with? Though I could be wrong." Since he didn't know a thing about the librarians son, but the way it sounded to him suggested Nate wasn't easy to like.
His gaze then shifted to Kyndall and he laughed, a smile coming across his features as he did so. "I should say you saved me from a very dull, not to mention drab, art show. Though I still won't call what was hanging on those walls art." He stated the last part quite firmly. He was convinced those canvases had not been covered in art but rather something else, something else which was undefinable. Blinking, his attention grabbed, he perked up. "Auditions...?" He hadn't been paying enough attention to have heard a thing about Arthur auditions.
"I don't act, I may be an artist but acting isn't my forte." He had wanted Gently and Kyndall to meet, but hadn't arranged that yet so was clueless they knew each other and both were aware of knowing him. He didn't know the trouble he was in, that he'd be dragged if need be to auditions.
"Me and Lily? My mother, as you know, is a lawyer in the city." Putting it lightly. "And my mother's worked for Lily's father for...well since we were born. We've known each other since diaper age. For the longest time Lily was my only friend." Only as of late had he been getting other friends. "Actually I moved in with Lily in November, so were friends and housemates." Something which brought a soft smile to his features. He loved the freedom living on his own, or at least away from his parents, afforded him. And living with his best friend was a plus, he wasn't alone in a house, and it was someone who he got on with so well.
"She's the reason I thought of donating all the animal products I did on that second trip." He said, he'd dropped off with Lily's help all manner of pet needs.

Lily laughed, "you guys are embarrassing me. I'm not that nice." In truth she was very nice and thus far there weren't many people she did not get along with, but she wasn't one to drag. "As far as Nate goes, well we sort kept running into each other. He can be rather unconventional, but he's a lot of fun. We went rock climbing not to long ago, at that indoor place."
She looked to Kyndall with a huge smile, "make sure you take good care of it, that was one of my favorites. Alex is an amazing painter, but I think he's even better with plants. The greenhouse in the backyard is phenomenal," she spouted. No it was her turn to show Alex in compliments.
She laughed when Alex he was no actor, she did really think she was much for acting either not that she actually tried it. Of course she's been on stage before but in the few ballet recitals she actually agreed to do not acting. Still she politely offered her help, "If you need any extra stage hands, I'd be more than willing to help. Not sure my acting skills, but I've got steady hands."
She nodded when Alex told Kyndall about there friendship wrapping her arms around one of his and grinning. "He's my best friend for life, my brother. My childhood would have been so much more boring without him," she said and then she blushed, "plus he's the better cook and makes an amazing tea. I'm learning, but I'd probably half starve if I had to go it alone. Even usually a cook book I sometime botch it."

Eventually, the band had cleared, and there was a brief mic feedback as the stage was prepared for the arrival of politicians. Shortly thereafter, a young man in a suit and winter coat stepped forward to open with a joke or two about the weather, before clearing his throat and introducing himself as a representative of one of Destiny City's local charities. A short speech commenced, about the impact the drive had on their local resources, and soon, he was smiling toward a woman seated nearby.
"So, without further adieu, please allow me to welcome Madame Mayor Powell to the stage."
The woman, in her late forties, was dressed fashionably despite the weather, and flashed the audience a smile as she took the microphone.
"I appreciate that all of you are out here in the cold with us," She gestured toward the park, which despite being beneath the midday sun, was still quite snowy, "But I believe we can all agree that it's worth it." At least there had been outdoor heaters placed throughout the area, and anyone with a lick of sense would have worn a coat.
Her expression became more serious as her speech continued, detailing the number of food boxes and amount of clothing that had been donated, and her pride in Destiny City for rising to the occasion.
"Often we forget that hard times and cold bite of winter last far longer than the month of the December, and that the need of our community does not stop after the holidays.
It is both an honor and a privilege to be able to present these awards to some of the youth that have dedicated time and resources to making this drive a success."
A bit more of politician-garbleygook, and the Mayor stood next to the shelter representative, calling out the names of those who were to receive recognition.
"First, we would like to thank Mr. Jett Draven! This young man contributed thirty-three boxes of food and clothing. If you would please approach the stage, Mr. Draven."
A photo was taken as the award placard was handed over, as well as a handshake and a smile.
Similar treatment was then given to those who had given other sizable contributions.
"Team 'Bookworm'," She smiled, and reached out a hand to shake Tony's, thanking him for his support of youth both via his work at the Library and by stepping up to guide them in the food drive. Tony, Micah, and Kail all received ribbons and certificates, though the young woman may have noticed a slightly wince at the sight of her themed attire at the semi-formal awards event.
"Miss Millicent Lafeu," The little girl was treated with a ribbon pinned to her clothing, a certificate to thank her for service, and a large amount of applause for such a mighty effort from such a small girl.
"Miss Raven Moore, Miss Candice Shermon, and Mr. Alexandre Evans," Each of the three received a ribbon and a public thank you.
Several more names were called out, before the mayor offered the audience one last smile. "Again, thank you for both your efforts, and your presence here to celebrate our community. Please enjoy the band, and the refreshments! The silent auction will close in approximately one hour, so make sure to go and bid!"

While a couple of the members had decided to get a closer look, or even participate in the festivities, Polaris and a few of the other senshi and knights hung back, watching carefully for the signal that they'd all agreed upon in the warehouse.
They didn't want to upstage the whole event before it even happened. The people that had worked so hard in the food drive to help others deserved their moment in the spotlight. They deserved to be clapped over and receive their prizes, because there was a very good chance that when this went down.. well.. the chance of cautious people fleeing or the event coming to an end was an unfortunately possible one.
The final announcements of names and congratulations was their sign, and the half dozen senshi and knights descended upon the park.
Eternal Sailor Polaris carried a bed sheet, filled and tied off as if she were Santa Claus or a terribly wealthy hobo. Thank goodness they all were as strong as they were when powered up, because the forces of order had been very generous, leaving each of the half dozen loaded down.
Uncertain whether or not to go onto the stage, and risk the fear that they were attacking the politician's Polaris came to a stop behind the gathered crowd, calling out as loud as she could, as she tugged the bedsheet's knot free with a showy motion. Her bag in particular clattered and clunked as cans shifted and spilled outwards onto the grass. A few envelopes were also in the mix, that eventually would be found to contain money and simple notes of apology and good will.
"Citizens of Destiny City! We, the senshi and knights of Destiny City, were so moved by the food drive that we hoped to bring a little cheer ourselves."
"Some of you may not know of us. Others might think the worst of us. I assure you we're only here to help and to protect as best we can from the darknesses in this world."
"We hope that this little donation shows you just how pure our intentions are."
Her eyes darted quickly to look for the rest of the group, and for any signs of possible danger amongst the crowd. Her heart pattered with both excitement and worry, as it was a task easier said then done.

At the first sign of the 'terrorists', DCPD, who was there to provide some security for the event moved to secure the civilian presence, while looking to their chief for direction.
The chief, in turn, conferred quickly with the mayor, and after a brief, whispered exchanged, took the mic to address the crowd.
"We appreciate that you have come here in peace to help make reparations to a city you have helped ravage, however, if there is any sign of violence, we are prepared to subdue you by whatever means necessary."
The older man indicated the officers with rifles on stand-by. The donations would have to be checked for safety before they were passed on to the charities they were meant for, but there was no wish for bloodshed or a large incident on a day of celebration.
"You are not, however, welcome to linger." The implications were clear. Stay as long as it took to drop off the remainder of the donations, get in their photo-opportunities with the numerous news crews clambering to speak with them, and then vacate the premises.

Squire Niflhel sat his bundle down beside Polaris eyes watching for anything that might trigger the aforementioned 'whatever means necessary'. Meaning he was keeping an eye for the negaverse, just in case as he opened up the bundle.
He moved back slowly and slightly closer to Polaris. "So... do we back away slowly and hope they don't charge after us?" He wasn't sure how many friendly people there were in the mix.

Quinn beamed when both Raven and Jett's names were called out by the Mayor- she would have to remember to congratulate the two of them later. And maybe make a mental note to be a better role model herself and donate next year.
When group of powered individuals arrived, however, Quinn's smile quickly slipped into a frown. Her heart began pounding against her chest and her hand instinctively went into her pocket, her fingers slipping around her henshin pen. Her eyes narrowed while she watched them, knowing very well that she couldn't just power up and attack them in the middle of the park with the entire town watching.
Her hands clenched to fists, her right still in her pocket holding onto her pen. She couldn't believe those sons of bitches had the audacity to show their faces in the public like this where they knew very well that no one on the side of Chaos would be able to power up. Assholes.
Order sure knew how to be a giant buzz kill.

Watching, and listening in a rather half hearted manner, Alexandre noted the Mayor on stage a took slight note of her words. He did pay attention to thowe called up, wondering if any were classmates or any such person he might in someway know. What he wasn't expecting was to hear his own name and so it was with mild surprise written upon his face that he went up on stage. Ribbon received and even, just for tonight, worn he made his way back to where he'd previously been.
Once there he took note of Lily missing, something about drinks he remembered hearing before he'd gone up stage. Ok, so she'd be back and hadn't left him in order to go warm up in the car.
What was the biggest surprise was when a voice, one he'd heard once before, called out. Turningaround, along with countless others, he spotted a familiar figure - a senshi. Hands clenched at his sides as he held back from shouting some less than flattering words. Why were they here? He got the donation thing, so nice of them, but did they need to do it like this? Of course it was for the attention and to seem good and nice. How pathetic, buy peoples opinions. It was a tactic they, the dark side, should use....at least they were the good guys in all of this. Well, at least more people would get food, something good from this, though he still had the urge to say or maybe even do something. Settling for biting the inside of his cheek as he watched, waiting to see how many people ran for it.
"They shoudln't be here, they'll only upset people." Spoken to himself, under his breath, and he shook his head slowly. "Idiots."

Micah's whole body fizzled with pride. She'd done it. As she stood in stage, ignoring the wince at her themed but no less formal outfit -- it was, after all, a skirt and heels -- she beamed with pride. Pride in her team, in her efforts. Hell, pride in herself. And why shouldn't she have been? She'd pulled her own weight. She happily pinned the ribbon onto her chest, puffing herself up without knowing it. Oh, Alexij was going to be eating this one for a long while. After all that crap he gave her about dumpster diving. And it had done so much good. The fact that it had gotten her a victory was in no way over looked either.
She looked at Kail and Tony with her hude smile, swishing her skirt happily. Oh, this was so great! Tony was right. Even if Micah had done this just to win, the feeling of doing good had won out. Somewhere between dumpsters and the library she'd forgotten about the prize and focused only on making as many people happy as possible. She'd done no good as a senshi.
And speak of the devil.
Micah's heart leapt into her throat as Polaris came into view. Senshi? And knights? How many knew? She looked around at the faces about her. Her mouth dropped open in that moment, pride and happiness forgotten. Her feeling of floating had been weighed down again by something regarding the senshi.
They were... here... but why? Her heart plummetted from her throat down to her feet as the realization hit. What was happening? Why hadn't she been told? There were only six or seven, but once again Micah's delusions of persecution got the best of her. Her eyes felt too hot as she wondered why no one had told her about this. Did they really want so little to do with her?
Parenoia can be crippling, and it was just that when Micah let it attack her as it did now. What was happening? Why were they hear? She felt something inside of her throat itching. Something she needed to holler at the top of her lungs. No. This was not the place.
Damn, and just as she was beginning to feel okay as a senshi.
Micah's eyes darted this way and that as she searched for a face to cling to in this suddenly uncertain time. No one. Quinn was too new of a friend and didn't need to know, at that moment, what a stemaing hot bowl of crazy Micah was. Tony was not an option either. Kundall would mother her, and Micah felt like she'd rip her throat out if she tried any of that. Micah didn't need to be coddled. She needed to scream and cry and rant and just be angry that, while she pulled her weight in that food drive, she wasn't represented.
Maybe she wasn't as secure as she had believed herself to be.
Another sudden realization that threw her world into further disarry. Well... damn... so she wasn't as comfortable as a senshi as she had thought? If she were... wouldn't she just be glad that someone was giving a good name to her team? Instead she was raging about something petty and juvenile like not being invited to the party.
It was enough to stop her tears.
She watched as Polaris spoke and tilted her head to the side, mouth still hanging open. That was odd. Nothing had ever before actually stopped her tantrum. She could hold it in, yeah but... never actually defuse it.
"Who are you?" The words fell unbidden form her lips as she stepped forward from her team. Too quiet, perhaps, for anyone to really hear her. Honestly, Micah had not heard herself. Nor, once the words processed in her mind, did she know if she had asked the question of Polaris or this new, fundamentally uncertain Micah.

Super Sailor Ganymede thought this was, without a doubt, an incredibly dumb idea, and he would still very much like to know who had even bothered to suggest it, and why—provided it hadn’t been a member of their group who’d spread the word—they hadn’t deemed it necessary to show up and volunteer their assistance in delivering the donations. Of course he understood the need for an improved public image. He’d raved about it himself a few times, but that didn’t mean he enjoyed being one of the sacrificial lambs.
He didn’t mind letting Polaris do most of the talking—better her than him, in his opinion—and lingered a couple of steps behind with his large bag of donations hoisted over his shoulder, letting his gaze wander over the crowd to observe the general reaction. There was muttering and a predictable sense of unease and quite a few glares, which he thought was fairly par for the course. Then his eyes fell on the officers and their rifles and he thought, with a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, that he would very much like to leave before they considered it a good idea to use them.
“Ungrateful bastards,” he muttered under his breath, taking the two steps forward that were necessary to place his bag of donations beside Polaris and Niflhel’s. He set it down perhaps a bit harsher than required, and let the donations spill out into view.
“I’m all for backing away slowly,” he told the others. “Or quickly. Whichever will get us out of here in one piece.”
He wondered, vaguely, with the sort of nervous amusement he felt whenever he was trying to be positive and light-hearted about something he didn’t really think was positive and light-hearted, if they would have been better received breaking into a song and dance number to Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World.”
Somehow, he didn’t think so.
As much as he would have enjoyed choreographing it…
He wondered also if he should say something to the crowd at large, but then decided he couldn’t trust himself to say anything especially nice or supportive with the amount of anxiety he was currently under, so he just plastered a large, rather strained and awkward “I’m harmless; please, don’t hurt me” smile on his face and hoped that did the trick.

Had the tables been turned, and Polaris been a member of the crowd she would have been proud and comforted by how quickly and competently the police had pulled together against the surprise intruders. For as often as the senshi and knights seemed to have to save the day it was good to see that the police force themselves were not incapable. The chaos of people running and screaming had been averted, and she was incredibly thankful for that. But it came at the cost of having guns drawn on them.
Her heart felt like it was skipping beats as she watched cautiously. Niflhel and Ganymede had joined her, but she hadn't expected to be the only one talking so far. So almost wished she'd been brazen enough to come completely powered up. To better provide guard if bullets did begin to fly. They were metal.. surely she could do something. But then.. she somehow doubted her reflexes were as quick as a rifle's. Even as a Princess.
Her hands lifted softly upwards, trying to look as harmless as she could manage, nodding both to the mayor and the two men who'd expressed the desire to book it. No swift movements, nothing that looked like it might have been an incantation. Good thing they didn't know that it only took a few words to cast her spells.
She didn't know why she'd become the impromptu leader shield. Maybe because she was the dumbest and first to step forward. Again she spoke up, soft and evenly.
"We have no intentions of over staying our welcome. Sorry for disturbing your event, it just seemed the safest place to bring all of this."
"Maia. Valhalla?" Polaris called for the remaining volunteers that she hadn't heard speak yet. She needed no second warning, as soon as the two had dropped their bags and said their peace, she was more then happy to hightail it out of there.

Ariel was listenning to the mayor with great attention, she finally understood the major part of the event she missed. She clapped her hands warmly when Tony's name came for the reward. But then she frowned. Senshi came in the place and what made her felt the saddest was that they were not welcomed and treated as terrorist....did she missed so much during her study ? Hand in her pocket she was looking for a way to henshin quietly, if things turned worse with the police she would help the senshi with all her might as she was proud to be one now. But it look like the action will not be needed. At least she watched the scene holding her breath as well as her henshin pen tightly in her hand.

Tony smiled as the ribbons were given out, surprised to be handed one himself. He blushed and tried not to look too embarrassed in front of Kyndall, shuffling awkwardly and thanking the mayor with a handshake.
When the senshi and knights arrived, Tony did his best to look surprised, then slightly worried, then relaxed. He had to play civilian, of course, but there was nothing stopping him from drawing on what civilian Tony had experienced. And he had known for a long time that the senshi meant no harm to them, and were doing their best to keep the people of Destiny City safe. Well, most of them, anyway.
Tony took a breath then walked over to the group of Order soldiers, offering his hand to Eternal Polaris. He had met her before, of course, but she would not know that. Not out of costume, anyway. He did know that Niflhel was aware that he was Camelot, and was Maia. That was fine, they obviously wouldn't give him away. His approach was cut a bit short by an anxious officer, and he looked at the man with a frown before smiling at the senshi and knights.
"Well, whatever anyone else thinks, I appreciate you supporting the drive. That's very kind of you. And today is supposed to be about that, right? And helping people who need it. If you're here to do that, then thank you." He smiled, though it was impossible not to be nervous by how tense the gathered security had gotten. The fact that they had their guns ready was bad enough.
"No reason to ruin a good party."
