She? The Shame Senshi managed to maintain her composure, but to hear that Acubens thought Ganymede was a girl... well, if Ganymede hadn't seen fit to correct her, surely it wasn't her place to do so either? Whatever the discussion had been, it was over now, although the Senshi of Velociraptors seemed to still have it on her mind. She pursed her lips in thought, listening to the gentle clicking of the other girl's corn rows as she stated, "Whatever you were discussing with them, however you upset them... I'm sure that it's nothing that can't be mended with further understanding. I know that I had many questions... still have many questions, about being a Senshi, and... it's hard, sometimes, to find a solid place to stand. It can be overwhelming."
"I... well, I don't attack so much as defend," Pasiphae managed to reply. In some ways, talking with Acubens reminded her of talking with Kallichore--and that meant her current companion had a mind full of questions and varying paths of conversation. It meant that Pasiphae was going to have to keep up and do her best to stay relevant in the conversation. "At first I could just put a shield around myself; now I can construct a shield around another person. It doesn't last long and it's not a direct attack, but... I do what I can." It was hard for her, even now, to think of how useless she could be, when the other Senshi she worked with could be more direct and effective. She found some peace, however, in the knowledge that her shield had saved at least one life. That made it worth while. "And you, Acubens? Have you learned what your ability is yet?"

“It’s good to know I’m not the only one who wasn’t alright with this whole thing,” Acubens signed, pushing a braid from her eyes. As Pasiphae described her attacks, Acubens grinned brightly. A shield! That seemed so much more effective than just running. "Me? I... I can run really fast." Oh, it sounded even more lame out loud. "I did the math once, and right now I can get up to Olympic speed. But that's not good for much except epic body slamming and getting the hell out of somewhere." He laughed nervously and clicked her heel once as she tried to hide her blush at her ineptitude. It was easier when her hair had been down. But if the only complaint Acubens had about the new style was that she could no long hide her embarrassment, then she’d keep it. She’d find some other way to conceal the heat in her face.
Acubens realized that she’d been quiet for too long. Oh dear. “Erm,” She pulled furiously at a braid, feeling the smoothness under her fingers and reminded herself of her Keren. Oh, why wasn’t she here now to give Acubens the courage she needed. “I saw you waving at Ganymede and Valhalla. You… you probably want to go talk to them. Sorry to have taken up your time. Ahh… I’m not really that good with people.” Acubens blushed again and pulled at the feathers of her bracers. She was only ever shy in groups. Had Pasiphae met her when it was just the two of them, then she would have chatted until her face was blue. But Acubens was virtually alone here. She’d already made a fool out of herself with three others and escaped with her tail between her legs in shame and now she had intercepted someone else on their way to talk to someone and made an even bigger fool of herself, revealing her pitiful ability.
“You don’t have to keep humoring me if you’d rather go hang out with your friends.”

Hmmm... hmmm... there had to be someone actually in charge.. didn't there? After all someone must have sent out those messages to rally everyone. Well.. maybe whoever it was was just busy and planned to come later on. Polaris couldn't help but find that a little bit unprofessional herself but then this was the busy time of year.. and besides.. where could be safer for all the stuff then in a room full of knights and senshi.
The sound of a mild commotion turned her attention towards the group of Acubens, Valhalla, Ganymede, and Hugbell. They weren't loud enough for her to hear exactly what they were talking about, but the bit of passion was easy to pick up from the group even from afar, and a look of curiousity crossed her face. It was hard not to be a busybody and just go see what was going on, perhaps under the guise of saying Hi to the youngest member of the group. But in the end she restrained herself.
Well... until Acuben's darted off.
There was nervousness around her, a soft uncertainty and Polaris was reminded very much of a tiny bird caught in a room frantically swooping this way and that. Her motherly senses were tingling wanting to comfort and perhaps settle the nerves of the other girl if she could. If she'd known about Acuben's prejudgement on her she might have held back to spare intimidating the girl anymore, but alas she did not.
Drawing closer towards Sailor Pasiphae and the velociraptor senshi Polaris arrived with a smile and a hand lifted in a wave of sorts. "Hello Pasiphae. And hello."
The lifted hand was lowered and offered out towards the unfamiliar face. "Sailor Polaris, senshi of magnetism"

A voice behind Acubens made her turn. Oh for the love of god. Acubens’ brain shut down when the beautiful eternal senshi spoke to her. Acubens was pale to begin with, but she went wabout five shades whiter as all of the blood drained from her face. Of course it all came flooding back in a ferocious blush the likes of which Acubens had never before experienced. The sudden rush of blood made her head spin and her vision blur. Acubens hand to lower her head to try and steady herself, which doubled as a way to hide her crimson face. Say something. Anything. Oh god. Offer her some chips! Damn, still no chips to be offered. Acubens looked up at the ceiling, over at the nearest wall, down at the floor again, and at Pasiphae before she looked at Polaris again. Oh dear. Say something. Say anything.
“I like your boots.” Oh, smooth move, Casanova. Acubens may as well have been baby and this senshi could just as well be Johnny Castle. I carried a watermelon. Oh, very slick, yes. Acubens kicked herself inwardly. “I mean, they’re very fuzzy.” Not any better. Acubens screwed up her face to try and salvage her dignity. “I particularly like the green piping. Very nice.” She was fast heading towards a crash and burn. She was going to pass out. Oh good god what was she doing. “It off sets the white, creating a shocking effect and compliments the brown soles.” Boom. That was it. She was done. Acubens hid her face again, suspecting it was verging on purple. “They match your hair.” Stop talking you idiot! Just shut your stupid face and leave. You’ve done enough damage for one night, don’t you think! “They’re… really nice.” Why are you still talking.
Acubens cleared her throat and forced herself to look up at Polaris, race burning hot and as ruby as her cornrowed hair. “M’Acubens. Sailor Senshi of Velociraptors,” she finally muttered, done with her analysis of Polaris’ boots. She rested her shaking hand in Polaris’ looking decidedly away now that she was done introducing herself. “And… and I was just leaving,” she muttered in summation, pulling her hand back after a few shakes.

"Thank you! They're very sensible." She spouted back to the original compliment in a mixture of agreement and thankfulness. But as the other girl continued on.. and on, Polaris' eyes grew just a little wider. By the time she was disecting the colors the senshi of magnetism was beginning to bubble with a little bit of good natured laughter.
Polaris was a proud person to start with, and while not really vain... what girl didn't like being complimented? It wasn't like it happened super often. And considering how often people found flaws in her outfit, or lack there of, to hear someone seemingly gush over it was a bit thrilling.
Only... now the girl, Acuben, seemed to be running off. Hopefully it wasn't because of her.. because she was laughing! "I'm sorry. I don't usually have such nice things said. I really like the shade of purple you have." It was Polaris' turn to fidget with her hair a little bit now, worried she'd upset the other girl.
"But anyway." Stepping back a step, a silent attempt to signal that she wasn't trying to hold the other senshi up, she motioned lightly. "I didn't mean to hold you up, I just like trying to get to know as many people as I can."
"Maybe I'll catch you sometime while I'm out patrolling."

Oh no. Acubens had upset Polaris. Her mouth fell open in an attempt to redeem herself, but then nothing came out. And then everything did. A whole jumble of syllables and words half started finished with the last bits of other words. There were different sentence fragments all strung together to make one nonsensical phrase that might have been in another language, Acubens wasn’t sure. She shut her mouth as soon as she realized the strange mixture of sounds was coming from her and not somewhere else, ceasing the noise very suddenly and with a click of her teeth. Take a deep breath and start again. This time look at her and for the love of god stop talking about her boots.
“No… it’s not you. I keep telling people that I’m not really at home around others. Normally, when it’s just me and someone else, I can handle it. I’m not this stupid, and I can actually speak. Sometimes I speak too much. Like I just keep talking and talking and it’s really not about anything important. But now I can’t seem to do anything right. I upset Ganymede, Valhalla, and Hug-bell with my questions about chaos, I held up Pasiphae on her way to talk to Ganymede, and now with you, you’re just so pretty, and I wish I could walk around with my tummy hanging out, and you look so good with a navel piercing, and see, I can’t stop talking! And I don’t really know what to do with my hands.” Acubens stopped then and looked at the mentioned appendages. What was she supposed to do with them? Rather awkward when they had no purpose, hands were.
“It seems like I upset everyone I talk to. I’m like… ninety five percent sure Kallichore doesn’t like me because I accused her of summoning a youma and attacking children, but for real, how was I supposed to know that senshi didn’t summon Youma? That cat that woke me up gave me a pen, called me stupid, and then left. I mean really, you can’t just punt someone into a war she knows nothing about and call her names for freaking out a little. And then I keep meeting these Dark Mirror Senshi, and they’re so nice to me, and I want so much to protect Keren and Alexij, and I don’t know how to because I don’t even know what to do, and my fuku just stopped burning me, I was sure I was allergic to it, and my pen keeps ******** laughing at me and dear god, stop talking you stupid girl!” As Acubens pushed her fists to her sides of her head she realized that she’d said the last part out loud. She shut her eyes tight to avoid the judgmental stares of the senshi and knights around her that she knew she was getting. “Sorry,” she muttered, shaking furiously with something akin to fear.

"Whenever I first learned my power... I didn't think it was very useful either," Pasiphae openly confessed, seeing a kind of camraderie building between her and the other Senshi. As much as Acubens reminded her of Kallichore... on some level, the other Senshi also reminded he of herself. If it was hard for her to reach out, if she had always (however secretly) wanted people to accept her... then how much of that did Acubens feel? "But I worked with others who taught me how to fight, to defend myself. I'm sure that, in time, you'll be able to find a style that fits you, a way to utilize your special gift."
There it was--permission to break away from this awkward conversation, not just for herself but for Acubens as well. Yet, the Shame Senshi didn't immediately take it if only because, well, it wasn't a matter of 'rather.' Pasiphae had felt, did feel still, at times, the way Acubens was feeling at this moment, and leaving now would imply that she didn't like the other Senshi and that she was, in fact, humoring her. So, she simply deepend her smile and answered, "It's no bother, if you'd like to keep talking with me. If you'd rather go, of course, you're more than welcome to do so." There. Now if Acubens wanted to go elsewhere, it would be a mutual leaving, rather than an abandonment.
Then Polaris came up, and the Shame Senshi immediately wanted to reach out to her. She held herself in check, however, because she didn't want to embarass Acubens, so she settled for her widest smile and replied, "Hello Polaris. It's good to see you again... I'm glad to see so many people helping to support the city." Then Acubens began to act... strangely. Pasiphae blinked and observed the situation unfolding--talking about boots and the color purple and then just... speech spewing out of her mouth, saying (apparently) whatever was on her mind! The name Keren lingered in her ears because she had seen her recently, but she concentrated on helping Acubens calm down. She was glad, so glad, that Polaris was here; Aurora was one of the kindest Senshi she knew and had helped Pasiphae herself when, not too long ago, she had known so little. Now, the Shame Senshi reached out to Acubens and rested a calming hand on her shoulder. She said nothing because it sounded like what the girl needed was to release tension, but she left that hand there and waited, waited to see what she could do to help.

The wave of words that escaped Acuben caught Polaris once again by surprise. Both the sheer amount of words and the very candid words at a few points. There was a very evident look of concern on her face as she reached out to place her hand on the other girl's shoulder, the opposite side to Pasiphae's own gentle reassuring hand. "Deep breath"
"I think you're worrying too much dear. I know I'm not really upset or anything, and I doubt anyone else is either. It's natural to be nervous sometimes but we're all our very worst critics and hardest on ourselves." Well.. maybe Kallichore was upset.. Polaris couldn't imagine being particularly happy if another senshi mistook her for an enemy or accused her of attacking children.
"It can be really rough just starting out. There is so much going on that doesn't make sense and so many people out there, friends and enemies. It really is a shame how in the dark newer senshi can end up being. I know I try my best to help out whenever I can but... well it's all the luck of meeting newer senshi on patrol or not."
"If it'd make you feel more comfortable when there are less people around we could maybe set up a patrol date sometime." Polaris was already summoning her phone into the hand holding the envelope, just incase Acuben accepted.

After she’d finished her tirade and screamed, her vision blackened, they way it did when she lost her temper, but so much more dangerous. When Acubens got depressed it wasn’t like when she lost her temper. IT was more dangerous. With her rage, it fizzed out, leaving her drained, but herself. Acubens could easily lose herself in deep depression if she had a melt down. For days she would lay, catatonic, just… existing. It had happened twice before, and Acubens had no wish to do so again. The hands on her shoulders did more than Acubens wagered the two girls knew. More than comforting, they served as anchors. Don’t lose yourself, this is where you belong. Right here, where we touch you, is where you should be. So nice. They reminded her of her Dark Mirror friends, though she kept that to herself. While Acubens saw it as a compliment, they would probably not take it well. Still, the thought made Acubens tear up almost immediately. Both of them were so nice. She cuffed at her eyes with her arm, the cool metal of her bracer effectively quelling her tears. “Yeah… I’m sorry,” she muttered, wiping her face with her hands to calm herself. She looked from Polaris to Pasiphae with a small smile. “Sorry, I cry all the time. Sometimes for no reason. I freak out even more.” Especially in crowds. But she’d crested in her melt down, screaming to herself and losing her grip on reality.
“Yeah… yeah, or even just the three of us. A small crowd I can handle. But…” she looked around, the senshi and knights since losing interest in her, “I’m okay now. I’ve got things under control.” She still shook, her body still coursing with adrenaline, but she was calm, and could conduct herself with some sense of dignity. As Polaris did, she called upon her own phone. “But I’d like that. Not that I really know what I’m patrolling for half the time but… yeah, that’d be really nice.” So what, were patrol dates just lunch dates for senshi? She almost laughed at the notion. Yes, she was feeling much more herself now.

Niflhel had been watching the three as Acubens basically freaked out, his eyes weren't on her however. He moved swiftly behind Polaris and reached for the package before asking, "Want me to hold that so you can work your phone?"
He didn't really want to startle her but perhaps surprise her, plus he was worried someone would try to take the envelope that wasn't suppose to have it. At least this way he could keep her from having to worry about anyone taking it. If she didn't smack him first for sneaking up on her.
He smiled at Acubens and nodded hello to both her and Pasiphae. He wasn't going to stay long if the girls wanted to talk alone. "Sorry to party crash girls, I'll be gone in a second. I just didn't want Polaris to have to juggle too many things." He added softly before slipping in a few cents.
"It's better to let frustrations out than let them build up." He added having caught the mention of crying all the time and for no reason. "No need in going crazy over something that just sits in your head and eats at you." His brown eyes glanced up towards the senshi he hadn't met, "I know how it feels to let something eat at you."
He frowned as the thought of Grams being moved out crossed his mind and a slight distance look fell on his features as he remembered he should introduce himself to the new senshi. "Niflhel, Squire of Saturn."
---
Hug-bell had came and dropped off her presents, Valhalla hadn't seen Zirconia and she sighed, "Anyways I gotta go." She grinned and gave a wave to those that she'd been hanging near. "See you later!"
With that she was out the door and headed towards the park.

Polaris had to actually try not to sigh aloud with the wave of relief that over came her as things seemed to settle, even if only a little. Of course they couldn't have fixed things in just moments, but the idea that they'd helped her even a little was a nice thought. It was like a job well done. Just like when she was back home with her younger brothers...
She was a little startled by Niflhel's sudden appearance, but considering who it was she was happy to ignore the fact and just be happy he was there. "If you don't mind holding it that would be great." Flashing him a momentary smile she turned back towards Acuben.
"It's not something to be sorry about. We all have our own ways of dealing with things."
Her phones was angled to scan the other senshi, taking in her information with a quick motion before Polaris lowered it once more. "I patrol almost every night so I'm easy enough to find. If your phone ever says I'm in the area feel free to come find me."
"Otherwise I'll send you a message some time."

Acubens sniffled again and smiled at Niflhel. “Acubens, Senshi of Velociraptors.” The phrase came easier and easier to her. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. Especially now that I am much more myself.” She winked at Polaris in her usual cheeky. “Such a helpful squire you have, Polaris,” she teased, noting the body language again. She watched carefully as Polaris scanned her, new to this sort of thing. Oh, what button did she push? She angled it towards Polaris with a look of intense concentration and just started pushing buttons. It rung and vibrated and flashed before it finally scanned the other senshi, making Acubens grin with pride. “Yeah, I’ll do what I can. My parents have cracked down on me going out but, I’ll definitely try and find you sometime.”
She turned then to Pasiphae. "Um... do you want to... exchange information? She wsn't sure what the proper word for this was. Oh, mind of I full body scan you for furture use? That sounded invasive. "I'm not nearly as flighty when I'm more in my element." Meaning one on one contact, really. Even just small groups.

Ganymede wasn’t sure if he felt better due to Valhalla’s reassurance, or if he felt worse for not thinking to explain it like that. He eventually decided that he felt a bit of both, which was horribly conflicting, but there wasn’t much he could do about it at the moment short of marching over to Acubens and striking up the conversation again. Somehow he didn’t think that would be good for either of them, seeing as he was a little on edge and Acubens was already having a difficult enough time of it as it was.
So he stayed where he was instead, releasing a sigh through his nose as he moved in front of Valhalla to lean against the page with his back against Val’s chest.
He was tempted to go ahead and leave. He had no idea what they were even waiting around for, except for perhaps the arrival of whoever had sent the message on their phones—whose identity he would admit to being slightly curious over. He couldn’t help but think mass texts of this sort tended to lead them into trouble. The fact that he had no idea who’d composed it didn’t sit well with him, even if the objective seemed largely innocent. He still remembered last winter quite clearly. Following the directions of a voice whose owner he did not know hadn’t served him well then.
Realizing he was allowing himself to become lost in thought, Ganymede forced himself back into the present, glancing around at the other senshi and knights wandering around the place, some of them more comfortable with their surroundings than others. He completely ignored the eternal senshi in mint green that Valhalla greeted, vaguely recognizing her from the Surrounding and deciding he hadn’t been impressed with her, before blinking in surprise at the extremely short, extremely energetic page who greeted them.
What was with all these new people and their excess of energy, he wondered. First Acubens and her rambling and constantly shifting moods, and now this girl with her wide smiles and excited chatter.
“Nice to… uhh, meet you,” he said.
He considered taking a minute step away from Val to let his boyfriend have some space around someone who apparently knew him, but then Ganymede decided he was comfortable right where he was, and if Val had a problem with it he could do something about it on his own.

Pasiphae relaxed as the situation involving Acubens seemed to be resolving itself. Her judgments of the newer Senshi were... mixed, but at the core of all of them was the idea that Acubens needed more time. More time to grow, more time to figure out who she was and wanted to be, and more time to grow accustomed to the life of a Senshi. While the sudden panic attack (for lack of a better phrase) gave her some misgivings as to Acubens' core... Pasiphae could not forget how lost she had felt when she had first awakened, how lost she still felt at times, and how much she owed to the more experienced Senshi in her life that helped her. Perhaps it was time to pay it forward, even if in only this small way. She removed the hand on the Senshi's shoulder after giving it a reassuring squeeze and smiled in greeting to Niflhel. But, for the most part, she was content now to be a silent presence; Polaris and Niflhel were both good people and seemed to be further calming Acubens.
When Acubens asked to exchange information, Pasiphae immediately piped in, somewhat embarassed that she hadn't invited the other girl to do so sooner, "Of course! I... sadly don't patrol, or haven't been patrolling, as much as I once did, but if you ever need help, please don't hesitate to call. I'll help as best I can..." She, in turn, pulled out her own Senshi phone to scan Acubens.

Niflhel grinned slightly tucking the package Polaris had held into his jacket before nodding. "Yeah it's better to patrol in numbers anyways." He added with a nod, "It seemed to make things more fun and less hazardous."
His eyes glanced over the sea of senshi and knights once again before pausing, and glancing sideways at Pasiphae when she said she didn't patrol as much as she use to. "You're a good helper." He chipped in with a smile, "You should patrol a little more often. I'd offer my own contact information but I don't have a senshi phone so you'd have to message Polaris to get me."
He looked at Polaris, "That is if she'll let me off my leash." He was teasing slightly as he watched her phone work.
